Fast Asleep

As Harvey decided to whip up a light soup until they had their food delivered, he was surrounded around the ankles by a little fur baby..

Picking up the cat, Harvey petted the soft fur before asking,"Quite friendly for a cat, aren't you? Or are you here because you want a new slave as well? Quite aware of your master's shortcomings, you know that I have been filling your bowl, regularly right?"

The cat did not like being called friendly or listening to his chatter and scratched at his forearm before jumping out of his arms with a mewling sound.

He was then ignored by the feline as it went ahead and gorged herself on the food that had been placed in her bowl.

Sir Francis, the cat with a patch, Harvey thought randomly and turned back to call out to the witch wanting to ask her if she wanted something with her soup but found her fast asleep on the couch with her hands joined under her cheeks, sleeping like a baby.

Smiling, he lowered the flame and let the soup simmer while hurrying over to make a few notes.

If someone would see him now and compare it to the novels he wrote, they would never think that he did not actually write the chapters of the novels first but instead made poems. She was cute when she was sleeping. No wonder she has a rule about not observing her when she was asleep.

His reason for living with Niana was to notice her little habits and make them into the habits of a serial killer. That way, when the person was revealed to the readers in the end, they would be truly astounded.

Picking up the pen, he quickly scribbled, {She slept like a baby, her lips turned into a small 'o' while her hands joined together as if she was praying for mercy. The picture was so enchanting that one would not know that they were staring at the face of a deadly assassin who was not begging for mercy but rubbing blood on her hands..}

Stopping mid way, Harvey turned back to look at her. He was pretty sure something was missing in the description but he could not point out what it was. But very soon, even that question was answered. Harvey shook his head and wondered just how was he able to get on the roll so quickly. His agent was going to be very happy with him this time when he submitted the initial draft on time.

Putting the pen back to the paper, he continued, { as he continued to stare at her, a smile blooms on her face, making him think of the times when they had laughed and played together. But suddenly the smile he had loved to watch was making him creep out.. did she also smile like this when she murdered those people? did she laugh when they cried for mercy? what was it that she was seeing in her sleep that it was making her smile.. was she planning a new murder? and if she was then who was her next target? and why did everyone of her targets have similarities with...him}

Once again, Harvey paused and cocked his head. the one drawback of having her as an inspiration was that he kept getting distracted by some dirty thoughts. While he wanted to think like an author, his body insisted on seeing her as a woman. He could not help but notice the way her long lashes rested against her slightly pale cheeks. She needed to eat well and get some sun.. He made a point to add some iron rich foods for her the next time he went to buy things.

Shaking his head that he had lost direction again, he groaned silently and continued,{she was so pale. Could it be that she was a vampire and liked to drink the blood of her victims? Was that why she severed the arteries to be able to get rich blood from the source? The man shivered at the thought and hugged himself, shaking his head.. No. She has only been called for questioning and not because she was a serial killer. But how could he be sure.. He did not know. As he continued to look at her, he suddenly jolted as his eyes met hers. She was awake and staring at him. Her almost shaped eyes seemed to be beckoning him as if saying that don't worry, Eve if you die you won't feel much pain.."

Harvey almost dropped the pen when he realized what he had written and looked up.. indeed she was awake and staring at him.

Placing down his pen, he smiled and spoke, "You are finally up. And the take out is also here. perfect timing" Harvey grinned as snapped shut his book as he went to answer the bell that had just rung.
