The Burrow Tyrant launched its pincer towards me and being currently in midair.. you know, like a dumbass, I found myself in quite the pickle. "EEEEEEEEEK!!" I squeaked quite bravely and all warrior like. Yeah... Ahem. I twisted my body midair in what seemed like slow motion. I used my feet to kick the air in my desperate attempt to move out of the way of the pincer but to no avail. Then, my foot blasted out a gout of fire, propelling me into an aerial spin! The pincer snapped and barely grazed my armor before I landed on my feet unharmed. "Yeah bitch! Nailed it! That was totally on purpose." I yelled triumphantly before realising that both scorpions were still alive and well. I huffed and dove back in. "Master! These Fishers are strong! This is a good hunt!" Fiona barked excitedly in my head.
Good news was that the first Burrow Tyrant couldn't move as fast after Fiona's bite and kept losing HP slowly as it bled out. But my wolf had to give it its full attention in order to keep up with the Rank 3 monster, meaning I was on my own against the newcomer. We traded blows repeatedly, pincer clanging against blade. At one point I stepped on its claw when it went for my leg, trapping it there before stabbing through it with a downward thrust! It screeched in pain and stabbed at me with its poison covered stinger! CLANG! I blocked with the flat of my blade but the force sent me to the ground! "Fire-Breather sword dancing Moth@hfuck#!". I spun on the palm of my hand and did a hand stand with my feet spinning around! This was actually what my evolution was all about! Dancing, juggling and Fire-Breathing acrobatics.
The stinger came again and again, missing each time as I spun midair, flipped around and finally did a mana powered summersault! My feet exploded with power as I activated Bound, expending 5 mana to make a 3.2 meter jump! Then at the peak of my jump, my feet blasted flames in the opposite direction, sending me rocketing towards the scorpion's overextended tail. I slashed with everything I had and the tail came flying off!
[ Congratulations! "Bound" has reached Rank 4. Congratulations! You have developed a new Skill! "Aerial Maneuverability Rank 1". You have parkoured down the Great Elgolar Plateau. Jumped over a Terror Bird mid-flight. Flipped around a Vorska Brood Matron and now this. You have developed the ability to use Elemental mana in order to steer yourself true while in the air! ]
You slashed "Burrow Tyrant" for 46 points of danage! ]
My impressive acrobatic feat ended badly. By overextending for my attack, I ended up crashing atop the scorpion on my side. It bucked and squirmed like crazy, spraying greenish blood all the while from its severed tail. My blade was too large for me to stab downwards while lying down. I was forced to hold on for dear life by its chitin plates as I dragged myself towards its eyes. The monster tried to retreat to its burrow by grasping the trap door. "Oh no you don't.." I yelled as I could see Fiona from the corners of my eye, tearing off another leg from her own foe. I gouged out a pair of the scorpion's eyes as I sank my fingers in the sockets of its organs. This was just my attempt at a handhold however. Once I was secure, I inhaled deeply, taking all the time to Overchannel my next spell. I screamed viciously at point blank at the monster's "face". An explosive wave of fire poured out of my mouth and enveloped us both! This of course hurt myself as well but I was more than willing to test its Resistance against my own! I aimed the brunt of my fire torrent towards its eye sockets, betting that it wouldn't be as resistant to fire from the inside. Thankfully I was right...
[ Your Fire-Breath has dealt critical damage against "Burrow Tyrant Rank 3, Level 5". Fire Resistance not applicable. 61 points of damage dealt! You have suffered Critical Damage from your own Fire-Breath, 47 points, due to Fire Resistance.

"Haha! We did it!" I shouted excitedly as I stood, my body covered in burns and scratches. Fiona was better off but had received a nasty sting! She limped closer to me, the venom doing visible damage to her and causing pain. "We did it.. we did it.. did Fiona do good?" she asked me while whimpering. "Of course you did! You always do your best!" I said trying not to show my distress. I hugged her and allowed 30 points of my own mana to flow into her. This wouldn't cancel out the toxin but I had found that it could heal and soothe a Dungeon mosnter. I tried to support her until her body had taken care of the venom itself and she was awarded for her perseverance.
[ Burrow Tyrant toxin within Blood Wolf, Fiona has been dissolved. Fiona has acquired Passive Skill "Poison Resistance Rank 1". ]
I patted her aggressively as relief washed over me and Fiona licked my face, almost not caring about the danger she was in. Just happy to be spending time with me. "Who's the best puppy? Who tore off all of the huge scorpion's legs!?" I asked as I ruffled her head.
"I am! I am! Fiona took off the scorpion's legs! She bit them really hard!" she shouted in my head in childish enthusiasm while wagging her tail so hard that it was kicking up sand! I could say that I had successfully outfought my frustration. More than willing to return to the safety of my domain, I picked up both Cores. Very lucky finds indeed and would make excellent stepping stones for the evolution of my own monsters. Fiona had certainly earned hers. I held back from letting her have the Core until we were out of harm's way. At that moment though, Fiona who was now almost back at peak health, growled towards the rock formations again. I looked up, partially blinded by the sun and half expecting to see a third Burrow Tyrant coming at us. What I ended up seeing was arguably worse.
Two men stood atop the peak of the rocks. Both men of Acamar. One was easily over 40, wore bedazzled robes of fine silks and vibrant colours while holding a fine walking staff. The other seemed like a scout. He was quite younger, wore leather armor and wielded a nice war-bow. His extra weapon, a pair of shortswords, suggested that he was a short to mid range fighter. "Hello.." I said quickly as to not let any room for misunderstandings. Raising both hands as to show that I was not a threat, I took a step closer. "Well met! I am a traveller from the Arsan Wastes. My pet and I were attacked by monsters he..".
"What the fuck is it!?" the younger man aksed the other, completely disregarding what I had just said. Was I not believable? With my Social stat and passive Arsàni skill they should be more inclined to give me the time of day. So what's going on?
The man in the nice robes raised a shining stone closer to their faces. It shone a bright red and for the first time, I could clearly see the absolute disgust as they took in my form. "Is it a Minion!?" the scout asked a again.
"Aziz.. for the love of Harnahs.. that's no Minion! Green is for Minions. It only shines red when there's a... THAT'S A FUCKING ELDER!!" shouted the eldest man and they both started to run down the rocks, in the other direction from us! I had no idea how the hell they knew who or what I was but they had come prepared for exactly that! There's was no way I would be letting them ecsape this place!
After unleashing her Enervating Howl, Fiona dashed for the scout at my behest. She was faster than me and he appeared to be nimble. I would take out the elder man with a powerful blow and go help my wolf after, if needed. Fiona's bite missed the scout's calf by a centimeter as he executed a dodge in the form of a summersault, without even looking at her! He then teleported while in midair, appearing just a meter higher and further back than he already was, while shooting an arrow at her at the same time! The arrow planted itself in Fiona's shoulder blade and she whined in pain. The Blood Wolf kept up her assault despite that but the scout kept avoiding her by activating similar, slippery abilities. Once the one's he had used first seemed to "cool down" he activated them again all over. As for me, I rushed the guy clad in the pompous robes, throwing a punch at him with everything I had! I felt bad about it, knowing that I had enough strength to punch a man's jaw clean off. However, the safety of my followers and critters, ment more to me than the life of a weird stranger. *THUUUNK*
My punch connected with enough force to lift the dust off his cloak. His head was thrown back a bit and I swear my knuckle felt as if it had connected with a brick wall! He swatted me away with his staff and looked more annoyed than in pain! It was as if he was slapped my a disgruntled tavern wench! I had a foot and probably 30 kilos on this spindly guy, what was going on!? Were these guys... Heroes??? He waved his staff at me and began chanting gibberish as arcane symbols swirled in the air in front of him. I could see the mana and Aether with my very eyes and despite his masterful control, he seemed unaware of their presence. The mage appeared to be gathering outside energy and converting it into a rather complex... Language? It was like computer code... Was this a spell? Why wasn't it like this for me? It was very complex, time consuming and tedious. He appeared to be creating four arrows of pure kinetic force that would hit me almost without fail.
I did a back flip in order to gain some distance, firing a blast of flame from my feet. Then, I chased down the little ass that was still kiting my fucking dog! Fiona had become a pin cushion, filled with almost a dozen arrows and my brave trooper was still chasing after him. The mage unleashed his arrows just as I was about to close the distance! "Fiona! Lie down!" I said and thankfully she obeyed, becoming less of a target. The guy did his summersault trick again but I used Bound to jump even higher that he could re-appear! When he teleported, there was no target for him to shoot. I came down behind him and used a full nelson on the bastard. "Gotcha!" I exclaimed as he squeaked in horror! "Unhand me you abomination!" He yelled. I ignored his plee as a new scream echoed. That of a mage advising caution to his friend. Too late however. I spun and launched the guy at the incoming magic arrows! The scout's body was bombarded by the spell, causing massive damage anywhere the arrows of kinetic energy impacted. Small chunks of him were even torn off from the ravaging explosions!
