Chapter 3: To the Capital

It has been 5 months since Irving got a grimoire. In this five months he had developed 2 offensive skills, 1 defensive skill and 1 healing skill. From what's written to the Grimoire, it seems like his magic is forest Magic. At first, he doesn't get why does it have to be forest when it can just be tree but he gives up a minute after thinking hard.

He is now flying with his broom on his way to the Capital. Though the Magic Knight entrance exam is still next month, the Capital is far from forsaken realm. It's not like he can fly his whole time on the way. He has a lot of mana but not infinite. He still needs to rest from time to time.

"HAHAHAHA, he look poor but I bet he still have a couple of yuls in his pocket. Surround him boys." A bulky man said and five people riding a broom suddenly surround Irving.

"Shit." Irving who haven't said any bad words since he reincarnate in this world said in a straight face. He landed through the ground since he doesn't have a perfect control to his broom yet.

"Come." Irving who is confident since they are in his domain said.

He's planning on fighting the bandits alone.

The 17 year old Yami who got the mission to take care of these bandits is hiding in a tree. He's planning on stopping them the moment he arrived at their base but the situation has change. Hearing the confident provocation of the person who is being targeted by the bandits, Yami decided to wait and see what the boy who seems to be around his age or younger can do.

"RAAAAAAH." one of the bandit lackey shouted as he charge to the young man who for some reason hasn't moved since he land. Seeing this, the other together with the leader also started charging towards Irving with weapons on their hand.

'Is he scared.' the bandits think making them lower their guard and recklessly attack the Irving.

"HAHAHAHAHAHA what a waste, you could have look forward for tomorrow if you just gave us your money." The leader laugh seeing their weapons struck the vitals they aim for in the man.

'Idiots, it's not him.' Yami thought realizing the trick Irving did. The bandit leader then repeatedly stab the body in front of them like a madman. That's why he hasn't realized that the body his stabbing isn't even bleeding which the lackeys notice.

"Hey, bury h-... Ha?" The bandit leader who saw his lackeys all binded with three trunks asked in confusion. He look back to the body he just repeatedly attack but what he saw instead of a body is a tree trunk.

A sharp pointed branch then pierce through his hands which also make him stun.

"Ah bastard, what did you do!" The bandit leader said as he struggle to move his body and get away from the vine that is slowly wrapping his whole body.

Irving did not answer but it instead point another sharp pointed vine in the head of the man.

"You shut up." He said and turn around looking at one of the trees. "You the one behind the tree, are you one of them?" He asked pointing at the tree. Yami doesn't have a choice but to come out holding both his hands up to say he means no harm.

"A magic knight? Then why didn't you help earlier?" Irving asked looking at the magic knight.

"What's the problem, you defeat them right?"

"Yeah, I defeated them and now I have to rest until my mana recovers before I am able to head to the Capital." Irving said putting the blame to the magic knight who now that he saw closer look familiar. It doesn't matter who he is he just have to make him indebted to him so he can ask for a money to pay in an inn when they reached the Capital. Though he doesn't really know who the magic knight is, if he's a bad person he should be able to depend himself.

"HAHAHAHAHA putting me the blame ha. You're the one who decided to fight them on your own though." The magic knight said as he laugh out loud.

"I knew it. You Magic knights are all trash. Maybe I should go to other kingdom and plot with them to destroy this country." Irving said and he started walking away. He can't fly because he is low on mana so, he will have to travel by foot from here.

"HAHAHAHAHA to say those words in front of a magic knight, so confident. I like you!" Yami shouted to the boy who is stopped walking when he heard what the magic knight said.

"What a creep." He said truthfully creep out. The magic knight in front of him is really familiar and that's when he suddenly remember who he is. In this Kingdom, it's rare to have black hair and seeing how he is carrying a Katana...

'...Is he ...'

Irving stopped walking to the realization and turn to face the magic knight who invited him.

"By the way who are you?" Irving asked with his guard up as he inspect the man in front of him again. Black hair, black eyes, a muscular build, and a Grey deer robe.

'He must be Yami!'

"The name's Yami"
