Sanya and Reno clashed their arcane arts against the sorcery of the Lunaseekers, when they were about to gain the upper hand and impale them through the chest with their wands, a shadowy figure walked in and stabbed the two Lunaseekers in the chest from a distance.
The hardened blood which was obviously another practitioner of the Art of Shezmu, struck the two cultists with no hesitation at all. The Umbra Knights held their ground firm and prepared for this unexpected character to join in.
"He just killed his fellow Lunaseeker." Sanya said to Reno. To which the latter responded with a nod.
A red glow from his magic wand confirmed it all. This was another Lunaseeker. But why he just decided to kill the other two completely baffled Sanya and Reno.
When the figure showed himself, he had a white mask covering his whole face, only leaving room for two holes for his eyes.
"Who the hell are you supposed to be?!" Sanya exclaimed as soon as he showed himself.
But this figure was not keen on talking nor exchanging any semblance of a word, instead, he pulled out a black grimoire and cast several Art of Shezmu spells right at them.
Meanwhile, the gigantic wolf that the recruits were fighting had almost killed most of them, if not for Leon and the other ebony haired boy who came in clutch to save them every single time.
"Heh. You are pretty good, beanpole." Leon uttered as he grinned, trying to land a cut at the creature's body.
"I have a name, you imbecile. Just call me Kyro." he responded. "Anyone who can cast stronger long range spells, provide cover for us!" he shouted at the other recruits, whom were all scared to the bone. This included Damian as well.
"Hey! Kyro! I have a plan!" Leon said to Kyro as he leapt close to him. Afterwards, Leon turned to Damian and nodded his head.
Damian knew what Leon meant. This was something that the two of them had prepared for time and time again during their training sessions.
It was also something that Kanon taught them as well. His words were remembered by them in this life-or-death situation. "Remember, kids, if you are facing a summoned monster much larger than you are, always attempt to immobilize it first, whatever you can do to get it to slow down – target its eyes or cut down its limbs." Kanon Sokolov had told them that a year ago.
Leon wasted no time and ran towards the wolf, once he got close enough, Leon slid down past it and dove to the ground. He sliced up the wolf's limbs in the progress.
"Agh. Damn! Too shallow!" Leon exclaimed in disappointment at himself. "If this were Kanon, he would have cut it down easily…" he introspected.
The creature roared loudly, making the others cover their ears. If they had not, it would surely end in them bleeding through it.
All of them did so except Damian and Kyro, they knew what was at stake. Seeing how the creature was capable of regenerating, they would never have a chance such as this again.
The two of them targeted their wands at the wolf-like monster and aimed for each of its eyes. Each projectile flew out of their wands at high speeds, catching the wolf off guard.
"Now!" Leon exclaimed at the others. "I am sure you all have your own reasons for joining the Umbra Knights, me and my friend have ours as well, but this thing can only be taken down if weaklings such as us band together and combine what we can do! We can-" his words got interrupted by a cough of blood.
Leon jumped back and noticed that he had been bitten during the last rush he did against the creature. "Adrenaline has got me thinking I am still fine, huh?" his right stomach had been bitten by the wolf. There he fell, writhing in pain.
"Do not let up! Don't let this jackass' actions go to waste! If we can't kill this thing right here and now, we might as well be this wolf's dinner…" Kyro said to them.
All of them remembered just why they joined the Umbra Knights. With heir wands now pointed at the flailing and temporarily blinded wolf, it was about to be a slow death for this creature.
Damian ran towards his friend to inspect his wound and saw the sheer amount of blood flowing out from his wound. It was looking to be a dire situation.
