"Seeing him now, I know it's all on you. Thank you so much!" When Kayla looked outside the car, she missed the short exchange between Adriana and Melody.

She then continued in a sad voice, "But I think someone out there wants to keep my dad in prison at all cost!"

Adriana couldn't help raising an eyebrow at Kayla's statement. she remained quiet for a while then asked, "why do you think so?"

Kayla smiled bitterly and responded, "the appeal process is being delayed for one reason or the other. You know they gave me the excuse of him having no family outside to return to, as a reason for the delay?"

Kayla then remained quiet for a while, maybe in an attempt to blink back the tears that were threatening to fall from her eyes.

She was extremely emotional at the moment and only wanted to appear strong before her boss. Kayla didn't wish to look like a cry baby, and for that matter, she wouldn't cry.
