The Heiress is back 

When Kendrick first noticed Katrina Hastings, she was just seventeen. He didn't have eyes for anyone at the base, however, when he went to oversee a test run on one fateful day, a heated argument broke out between the scientists at the base.

Everyone claimed that it wasn't a fault of theirs that the equipment malfunctioned, because everything was tested and confirmed to be perfectly operational, just the previous night. How then did an error occur at a time like this? No one was willing to earn the ire of the captain.
