Adriana made mention of Aiden arriving at the house unconscious, because she wanted her message of how weak and sick he was at the moment to sink in. She wouldn't want to have Aiden falling off some stairs or anything, just because he was too weak to walk.

How then would a person who is too weak to walk to the bathroom even be able to walk down a flight of stairs on his own? Making the message of his new reality sink in would be the only solution to avoiding a catastrophe, should he attempt running and end up injuring himself any further.
