The Heiress is back 

Gerald Flynch couldn't step out of his hospital ward, since he was yet to recover fully and begin seemingly regular movements associated with his condition. Also, he was not allowed television in his ward, since he could get a heart attack at any time and the doctor didn't wish to take any chances with television I'm his room.

At the moment, Dorothy's betrayal was still making waves, and the doctors didn't think it wise for Gerald to listen to the news. If Doctor Malvin had been aware of the assistant smuggling a  projector into the hospital ward, he would have confiscated the device or even asked him to leave immediately.
