The Thing!

"You have a lot of nerve sitting before me." The visitor spat in a cold voice. Dorothy trembled slightly, then quickly rose to her feet and stood to the side like a maid waiting on her boss. "I should have known he requested this arrangement so he could humiliate me."

She thought inwardly, however, she quickly responded, "I'm sorry"

She had nothing else to say, as everything she planned just now escaped her mind momentarily. Looking at her, the visitor remained silent, taking in her haggard look. "If the rumors are anything to go by, the warden must be taking very good care of you." He mocked her openly.

Hearing such words, Dorothy tensed up as she raised her head abruptly and met the cold and familiar eyes of the visitor. How could she not be familiar with those eyes? She would even make them out in a dark room without difficulty. She had been looking into them every day for the past nineteen years.
