Chapter Five

Bloom's POV

Laying on my back, I tried to sleep but I couldn't.

Last night was one of the best moments of my life probably because I didn't spend it in fear of getting killed by rogues and all those stories Ariana told me was probably to keep my mind off Har.

Just thinking of her was enough to make me burst into tears but I wasn't about to get scolded by Ariana again. Looking over at the next cage, Ariana was asleep. She looked so peaceful. She told me last night she didn't care if she's dead or not, either way she had nothing to lose.

On the other hand, I could tell she was nervous. Death isn't something to be glad about and I certainly didn't want to die anytime soon.

I missed Har so much and I wish Har was here with us but all I could do at this moment was to sit in a dirty huge cage and pray for my life and that of my friend.

Friend

I like the sound of that. I didn't even spend a whole day with Ariana but I can tell she's a very nice person.

We spent the whole night talking and getting to know each other and in the morning while she slept, I was wide awake.

Probably because I slept off in some part of her story.

At least, I know a lot of things about her like ;

Her full name is Ariana.M. Martinez and she's three years older than me.

She's born in July or maybe June, I don't know since I just found out about months and days of celebration and a lots of new words. How 'exciting'-- that's from yesterday's lesson.

Oh and 'guess what', Ariana's middle name is .......

Mike.

At first I thought she was joking so I laughed but when she didn't laugh that's when I realize that she was being serious.

And then she made me promise her not to ever mention her middle name to her mate whom she is yet to find.

One reason why I admire her faith, She's so sure that we're going to leave here alive and I really hope so.

She's the only girl in the family of three boys. She lost her father who was the head of the warriors when she was nine.

Her mother became mentally ill and wasn't herself anymore.

So she spent most of her time with her older brothers and his friends. One of the reasons why she didn't have a girlfriend.

Another reason was because she said she hated high pitched voices.

She was happy with her family and she believed so much in the mate bond and every other thing attached to it. On her eighteenth birthday, she was suppose to find her mate but luck wasn't on her side.

She always followed her oldest brother to other packs in order to search for her mate seeing as her brother was the delta of the pack but all attempt seemed futile.

When she turned twenty one, her mother told her she was going to be getting married to the beta of the pack.

She shifted and ran away. She only discovered how far she was from home when it was nightfall and the pack bond was already broken.

Poor girl wasn't even a rogue for a day and by nightfall she was already sitting in a dungeon.

The ceremony was supposed to be tomorrow but seeing as the bride is no longer in the pack, there would be no ceremony.

She sounded so broken as she told me how her mother wanted her to get married to the beta of the pack so she would always be happy.

Changing the topic, I made her tell me all about pack life in exchange for everything a rogue does.

At least, the plan worked because soon enough she was going on and on about her life back at the pack house as they call it.

I told her mine though I didn't have so many friends.

At least, I learnt how to do the puppy dog eyes thing which according to her is the free ticket in getting away with anything and 'I might use it on my mate'.

Her words not mine.

Another reason why I admire her faith. She's so adamant that we're gonna leave here alive but considering the story she told me about the Alpha. I think our chances of survival are very slim.

I could feel beads of sweat forming on my forehead and my hands becoming sweaty just thinking of the stories Ariana told me.

"His name is Alpha xerox black. I don't know how old he is but if my...'

'Hold on, did you just say alpha xerox?'

'Yes, geez listen more carefully bloom'

'Erm ariana, I...'

'What's wrong?' She asked suddenly looking worried.

' I swear I didn't know I just said his name and...'

'Bloom tell me what's wrong?'

Looking down, I bit my lip,'Those men asked me what the name of my alpha was because I told them I was suppose to get married to him and I was running away from him and I didn't know any names so I just blurted out Alpha xerox because they usually talked about him...'

'Okay firstly you learn really fast'

'What?'

'You pronounced blurted correctly but why the hell would you say Alpha xerox is your alpha'

'I told you I freaked out and I just blurted it out. I'm sorry'

'It's okay honey. I'm probably sure they've forgotten'

'Are you sure?' I asked feeling slight relief

'Yes honey now are you ready for that story?'

Nodding eagerly, she sat up straighter.

But right now I began to consider the consequences of them remembering and I was so sure I was going to die.

When they find out that we're not the redhead they've been looking for, Ariana will probably be spared while I'll be in a cage.

"Bloom?"

Turning around, I saw Ariana gesturing for me to be quiet.

Nodding, I listened closely and then the sounds of heavy footsteps approaching filled the place.

On instinct, I ran to the the edge of the cage and tried making myself invincible.

"Are you sure they're both red heads" A gruff voice said.

"Yes sir"

"Where are they?"

"Over here Sir"

Soon enough, the footsteps stopped and still looking down a pair of shoes came in my line of vision.

I heard the jingling of keys and soon the cage door was opened.

Heavy arm grabbed my arm and pulled me up. I didn't recognize him and I was more than happy.

Keeping my head down, I watched another guy grab Ariana in a rough way.

"Hmm" the man hummed before grabbing my chin roughly making me look up at him.

"She's a beauty. I'll keep you if you're not the mystery redhead"

I grimaced in disgust while he smirked obviously enjoying my discomfort.

"Weapons would be sent to you in an hour time" the same man said.

"Okay sir, where can I drop her?" asked the man that was holding Ariana.

"Take them to my car"

"Shouldn't we chain them?"the man holding me asked.

"No" said the man, his voice firm.

Soon we were leaving the dungeon and I almost sighed in relief as I took in the fresh air.

Sure enough a car was parked there and as soon as we were close by, I was roughly thrown into the car and at the same time Ariana was thrown from the other side so our foreheads bumped together.

"Sorry" I whispered to her.

She nodded and we faced the group that was talking outside.

I didn't hear anything because I was too busy admiring the interior of the car.

The front door was opened and the man hopped into the driver's seat and then locked the door.

"I'm Mike and I'm the delta of Wolfsbane pack. Don't try to run and I promise both of you aren't going to die slowly."

"If you need anything, tell me if not keep your mouth shut. And I repeat, don't try to run. My wolf likes a good chase. Understand?"

We both nodded.

"Good, here you go" Mike said throwing a bag of something and two bottles of orange colored water.

"Thanks" Ariana said.

He nodded and soon the car began to move.

Holding tightly onto Ariana's hand, I soon adjusted to the way the car moved.

And soon we were both on our way to our doom......
