Ailin Fransesc,

Varknov, Linsindberry

Block 56.

As tedious as walking all the way there sounded, walking was Ailin's much prefered choice. This morning the streets were empty. A gust of wind knocking the leaves on the pavement away.

Ailin saw a chariot pass through once in a while, but apart from that there was no one to be seen. She had passed both block 55, and block 54 to get here. Now those were pretty populated. Not only that, but it seemed like block 56 had an eerie air about it to.

Had Ailin lived here?

"Mommy loves you Ailin!" The voice in her head echoed. Ailin squeezed her eyes shut and shook the voice away. If she kept musing while on the road, she might end up with an anxiety attack.

From her pocket she pulled out a bottle of pills and put one in her mouth. Now she can hopefully rest assured.

The weather was a murky blue today with the clouds blocking out the sun. It seems it would rain.

After another mile of walking or so, her footsteps finally halted. in front of her was a manor, a big one at that. It was gold, heavily gold, ornate with serpents on the main doors, from above tress fell over the windowsill, it's pointy peak standing high up in the sky.

A home welcomed you and made you want to stay in it. Be comfortable and be in peace. This home did not call out to Ailin. She felt unwelcome with all her bells ringing furiously.

'Turn around' a voice said at the back of her head. 'run now, before it's too late'. Every single warning in Ailin's body rang at its highest peach, but still, Ailin had taken a step forward. She will not be turning back once again. That much was decided.

"HAHAHAHA"

A chuckle in the air. The voice of a male. and laughter continued, not knowing the end.

When the chuckles finally died down, the man took another breath, gasp of air and exhaled loudly, breaking into chuckles once in a while, his eyes tearing up from too much laughter.

"YOU" He points to the servants standing around him. Another series of chuckles. "You better set the damn stage." He said pushing the chess pieces away from the board.

"this darkness will soon be blown away" He lips break into a grin wide enough to tear the corners of his lips. "Everything the goes around

COMES AROUND."

-------------------------------------------------------------

Ailin pushed the huge doors open and set foot inside a huge and lifeless hallway. There lights were off everywhere, making the manor extremely dark. She pulled on a switch she thought to be connected to the lights and yanked.

To her relief, the house lit up into a colourful monstrosity. It seemed there hadn't been any life in there for a while. cobwebs dangled everywhere, dust spread out on all corner of the house. Ailin could smell it too.

For a while, the only sound she heard belonged to her footsteps. A narrow path leading into another hall stood in front of her, calling out to her.

Ailin's body stiffened in resistance. It was screaming "don't go. You mustn't." It felt as though she was capture in a cave of ice, frozen to her limits. It took almost all her willpower to break through the freeze and walk ahead into the hallway, balling her fist and breathing patiently hoping to see an end to this fright.

But there was no end. And the most frightening thing was, the deeper she walked into this embodiment of darkness, the more terrified she became. Almost everything about this place was a maze. A maze of secrets the must never see the light. And that chilled Ailin to the bone. It made her want to fall on her knees and succumb to the fear. its made her eyes wide with surprise and squint with fear at the same. It was an abyss of hopelessness, this place.

but deeper question was whether she should go deeper, or just lay there in the hallway, shivering and trembling.

Her pants....it was starting again. The manor stretched so far above her, and the darkness got darker and darker the farther she looked. It made her nauseous and dizzy. It made her want to lie down and give in to the numbness that her heart hungers for.

She panted, louder and louder, gasping for air, clutching her gown in her fist. She brought her shaking hands to her numbing head and balled herself on the floor.

It continued for a while but her pants died down soon enough leaving her with a numb but calm heart. Calm enough to think.

A ruffle sounded in the hallway. Ailin yelled and jumped back to look at the pillars where the sound had come from. Her heart almost fallen to her hand. Her hands trembled as she followed in the direction of the sound. It felt almost as if someone had been watching her have an attack.

She followed the silhouette through the manor. Looked carefully enough to take the same turns she did. And oddly enough, it felt almost like she was been led the way. Ailin was passing through closed off spaces, lower and thinner hallways, open and huge rooms and halls had all been avoided. It was almost as if...this person had know what kind of darkness Ailin was afraid of.

Finally she was inside a room. A....chess room. The silhouette was nowhere, but she knew that this was where she was supposed to be.

In front of her was another staircase leading into a second story. That's where she saw him.

Mycroft. There was nothing she could to forget that name. Nothing. She didn't know who he was, or what he did, or even if he was on her side...but she knew the name well. Very well.

A muscular man with platinum hair and a red mask to hide his face, wearing the blue jumpsuit as always like he was going to a circus.

He grinned then, wide enough to tear his lips at the corners. "Took you long enough"

*tap* *tap* *tap* and then he was down as quickly as water takes to slip through holes. He leaned towards her face suddenly making Ailin almost fall backwards. He grins "Come back for answers I see"

He chuckled loudly, maniacly. "I figured you'd come back"

He grins once he's calmed down. "Would you like to play a game of chess with me? Everything I lose, I will answer your question, and everytime you lose, I will order you to go to any place I suggest. What about it?" He's still chuckling like a maniac. Ailin wondered how someone like him could give her any answers. But she nodded nevertheless.

He suddenly becomes serious then, not a hint smile on his face. He leans in closer to Ailin "but listen, dunce, There are certain conditions to agreeing as well. You must..." The grin is back "use your mouth. Now. hear me say it"

He brought his ear close to Ailin's mouth.

Ailin should speak? the same Ailin that hasn't spoken for the past 6 years? Is it possible? Ailin herself had no idea. But...was all of it for nothing then? Was all of it...really for nothing?

Regardless of whether her voice comes through or not, she opened her and mouth and spelled the word.

"YES"
