Fall of the Frey Family

June looked at the elders falling and seeking their doom. But her eyes were not wet instead it shows she want to kill them with her own hands. Her eyes were bloodshot and she only had one intention that is to kill them all.

She was said to have a poor heart and a kind soul but the way she acted, her expressions, and her demeanor were of pure evil. The poor heart filled with innocence and bliss was now filled with cruelty and ignorance.

She ignored the plea and cries of the guardian elders of the Frey family. Instead, she watched them all dying with pain and crying. Even though June was kind enough to let them go, she watched them die without any regrets or hesitation.

Harry was a bit shocked by her cruel demeanor but more than that he felt pity for her. Because he know what kind of woman she was so he couldn't help but feel sorry for her.

He knew even if June's expressions were cruel, cold, and heartless deep down in her heart she was suffering because of the killing spree on her own people. But she never hesitated because now the elders even dared to kill her father, the patriarch, and her mother. Because of the greed, the elders of the Frey family wanted to marry June to a wealthy family to gain power. Because of her rebellion, the whole blame was placed on her father, and the whole family was burned down.

When she escaped from the family and set out in search of Harry, a maid from her home used an information talisman to give her the details of the death of her family at the cost of her life. When she heard those words her blood boiled and her body trembled. Still, when she remembered the incident of the details she got from the information talisman, she would cry for hours but Harry would comfort her with all his heart.

The elders were all dead in a few hours suffocating in the endless flashes of the nightmare. Everything was over in a few hours. But still, June was staring at them without taking her eyes from them.

She could feel that the pain in her heart was slowly getting healed. She found that her injuries and her resentments are slowly fading away.

"Are you ok?" a man's deep and thoughtful voice made June nod her head sideways.

"Much better" she finished. Her face was still cold but there seems to have been some thoughtful memories.

Harry saw that her eyes were not watching the dead bodies of the elders but the young man who was standing still facing the other way. Her stare fixed on Lin Cian for a reason because they were now close as brother and sister.

Harry knew what she was looking for so he decided not to step in but in fact, he also was having the same thoughts June had.

"Loaren..." her face and her eyes didn't express any trace of excitement or joy but fear.

Her heart was filled with the fear of losing someone.

Lin Cian who was possessed by Loaren turned back to look at his sister. "Sister.." unlike June he smiled at her with a healthy face.

"How have you been?" she clenched her hands tightly and controlled her tears while biting her lower lip in case she broke down.

"I am good, don't worry I will be with you" the smile on his face grew larger and larger and the glare on his eyes got brighter and brighter. He stared at his sister for a few seconds.

"What about him?" her head stared down and the nails on her fingers pierced her skin which let drops of blood run on her hand. She could see the brightness of his eyes dimming she took a huge breath. "Sorry" she apologized as he was staring straight into her eyes.

"Don't worry. Without his permission, I can never do something like this" his face restored the smile it had a moment ago. As he thought, June's eyes widened seeing the smile on her brother's face. "He was taking you as his sister. I don't have to worry about you missing me" his eyes closed and there appeared wrinkles on the end of his eyes horizontally. He could see June's breath getting fast and heavy.

He turned towards Harry "Thank you" his face once again smiled at him with huge satisfaction. Upon hearing the words by Loaren Harry's hand that carried his sword clenched the sheathe unconsciously.

Harry forced nailed a smile on his lips and nodded once for ensuring him that he is fine. Upon seeing that Loaren was still staring at him harry realized something. "I Harry Lockwood, have taken June Frey as my wife, in death, in life, and in any hardships, I will be with her and ensure her safety and happiness with all my life" his right hand was clenched and was resting on his chest while every word from him carried sincerity.

The grin on the face of Lin Cian who was possessed by Loaren grew bigger while June's eyes filled in tears. She has never seen her husband speaking more than a very few words but she could see him break his silence by promising to keep her safe.

Lin Cian fainted and before he could fall two large and strong hands hold him on his back and made the falling process slow down. Harry and June decided to let him rest and in the meanwhile, they looked around the village.

They could see the cruelty of the so-called elders of the Frey clan. They forced people of their clan to be lackeys for some bigshots. "Obeyed will be rewarded, refused will be beheaded" were the words the people of the Frey clan heard often from the elders. Many people were killed and the others were sent out to become dogs for some big people.

To escape the punishments, the people obeyed the elders and lived in hell. The people suffered more because even if the Frey family was an assassin clan they wowed to not take the weapon against the peasants. They survived many years and have completely adapted to peaceful life but the sudden orders of the elders get killed.

Not even children were spared. Even the teenagers were sent out to have missions and were killed ruthlessly. Even if the mission was known to be unsuccessful they were sent out to get killed. The ruthless men killed the children and played with the body of young girls as much as they like.

As a candidate for the patriarch of the Frey family, she came to know many people who even stalked her without knowing her identity but the unpleasant thing was the stalkers were children. With the help of her husband and her comrades, many children were saved and sent out to an academy where the children were promised to have a good life.

After receiving solid information from the children June understood her duty and Harry also supported her while Lin Cian promised to follow them to fix the mess. When they went for 'Blue Moon' Lin Cian saw a mission given in an area near the eagle mountain by someone anonymous.

Lin Cian tried his luck and it turned out to get access to the magical pathway of the eagle mountain. It was the same as the Lin castle, without permission no one shall enter.

The elders were killed by the haunting ghosts. Even if the Frey family was closed and secluded from the mainland they still did assassination missions for some bigshots for the past few years after the elders took control over the family. Lin Cian who was familiar with the spirits' cognition for a year secretly collected the memories of the resentful souls and came to know about the unfairness of the society.

That's how he came across the spirit of Loaren and the other people who were killed by the members of the Frey family. All they had common in them was the hate for the Frey family because every soul he gathered was a sacrifice of the Frey family to get power.

Other people were killed cruelly by the Frey family. These people involved themselves in the well-being of the commoners and were the thorns in the flesh of the leaders and the nobles. So to erase the threat and avoid the outroar of the people the bigshots hired assassins from the Frey family and killed them.

Not only the people who stood up for the well-being of the commoners were killed but also their families, their children, and whatever they had. Their children were killed as if they were mere lives. Their wives were used for anything as the bigshots pleased. The bones of their husbands and fathers were removed and they became fertilizers for the farmland.

As a spirit, they were helpless seeing the scenes of their family, their children, or their beloveds suffering because of the big men with high status. All they could do is to blame themselves for bashing their heads with the people with higher status. That resulted in them having a deep vengeance against the Frey family.

Lin Cian who learned everything from the spirits somehow interpreted the truth from Harry and June. Lin Cian even found that June knew that her brother was dead in a different way but not by Harry's sword. She hid it from Harry because she was worried about him.

Lin Cian understood that the couple had many things in common. Most importantly they were thoughtful about each other and stood for each other no matter what. He also understood the deep thoughts of their planning to annihilate the whole clan of the Frey family.

Never did they think that the foolish ghost was smart enough to interpret their thoughts but Lin Cian understood them and summoned Loaren to help them.

With the help of Loaren, he summoned all the resentful spirits and made a killing spree in the eagle mountain.
