Explore, Expand, Exploit and Exterminate are the basis of any 4x game. Zack Tills loved this genre of game and was quite good at them as well. In this day and age though there was the rise of VR games where you could have your consciousness fully be inside of seemingly another world. Zack didn't care for these VR games because most of them were just basic MMORPG style games. Then when going to the grocery Zack overheard a conversation about a new VR game that he would actually now be interested in. This was the game Kingdoms, a 4X VR game.
its an interesting premise. I'm excited to read about the macro and micro control that this sort of game would require (if my understanding is correct. It's difficult to give a thorough review based solely on the first chapter, but I do have high hopes for this.
Not sure if I should be this quick to judge but here's my thoughts anyway. Story is average, nothing too unique. Still 3 chapters is not that much and there could be much twists and turns in the story that could make it more interesting. Would have preferred some comedy or action or some bigbrain moves (great for kingdom building styles) in the story(even if its only been a few chapters) but still too early to judge.
It's an interesting and well written story. Personally I like novels with VR games so I'm sure that I'll add this one in my collection. I'm looking forward to how the story will progress.
