Corruption is salvation 1/2

"I realised something last night, Artoria." I tell my new wife, making her raise her eyes from the pillow and focus on me. "I finally know how to get a power up that will make all main characters look like children compared to me."

Artoria remained silent at my words before a curious look grew on her face. "I didn't get half of what you just said, but I am curious about what your new power will be."

"Good." I reply with a smile. "Because I will be needing your help for a bit."

She showed a cute small smile, one that didn't match with either the impression I had of Saber Alter from heaven's feel nor the looks she had last night. Kissing her, I got out of bed and stretched. "Go and tell Giorno to make breakfast dear." I tell her while leaving to get dressed.

Artoria watched me go before leaving the bed and heading downstairs.

As I finished getting dressed, I couldn't help but wonder about my origin. Last night I felt a lot of... pent up desires explode, every single thing that I had wondered or wished to try in bed passed through my head as I became entranced with fulfilling each and every one of them. Women is what I have paid the least attention to since I was reborn, at first because I was an actual baby and later because I was still a child, in a way it felt as if there were many other important things to do that would grant me as much if not more satisfaction, like staying alive, so I pushed them aside.

Last night I felt as if my origin was pushing everything I repressed into my head and forcing me to do it, which was undoubtedly both a weird and pleasant thing, however it is also dangerous. Loosing myself to my desires is not the same as doing anything to fulfil them. I refuse to become an empty shell of a man moving from one pleasure to the next.

Heading downstairs I was greeted by the sight of Artoria having an eating competition with Diarmuid while Medea watched them amused, however there was a certain seriousness in her eyes that confused me. Giorno was cooking faster than I have ever seen him do anything and even then the food was disappearing faster than it was coming out.

As soon as Medea saw me, she gained a serious expression and came in my direction.

"What's wrong?" I asked her confused.

"Something has happened... you remember how you said that the grail was corrupted?" she asked me.

"Of course." I replied. We had been searching for ideas regarding this problem and so far we only figured out a way to make the wish without any trouble, however we wouldn't be able to purify the grail in the process, which means I wouldn't get to keep it as my own.

"I believe it may have corrupted me slightly." she said. "Well, more like it tried to corrupt me but failed."

A serious expression appeared on my face as well. "What do you mean by that?" I asked. Angra Mainyu, while weak as a servant, was also very troublesome. I don't need my servants becoming puppets to the source of All Evil or whatever that dude really is.

"When I died I should have gone to the grail, and I did. At last until the replacement for my soul came out of the stone you placed in me and my body regenerated, allowing my soul to come back." she explained. "In those seconds the corruption tried to take a hold of me, however since it was so little time it barely managed to touch me, much less actually affect me in any way."

"I see..." I mutter while rubbing my chin. "Indeed, it is something we shouldn't be overly concerned about, but it also isn't something we should take lightly. Have you destroyed the corruption?"

"I have." she replied. "However there is a problem... because of how small the corruption amount is, I doubt I would be able to take it out of someone else's body."

My eyes widened for a moment. "You mean..."

"Yes." she replied while nodding. "Diarmuid also died, which means he also must have been touched by the corruption. But unlike with me, I can't take it out of him, it would be like trying to take a needle out of a haystack. I could do it in myself because I have perfect control over my haystack, but someone else's is a different thing. Don't get me wrong, I could do it with enough time, but I doubt I could get it done before the war is over."

"I see..." I reply. "What about if he dies? Wouldn't the corruption grow, meaning you would be able to find it and then take it out?"

"Depends." she said. "If the corruption makes the already existing one grow, then yes. If it touches somewhere else however, things would just get worse. Basically if the needle in the haystack grew, I could indeed find it faster, but if instead it is just throwing another needle... well I would spend more time because I would need to find two needles instead of one."

"Hmmm, any other solution in your mind? Maybe sealing it would work." I say.

"Not quite, since the same problem exists. I would first need to find it and then seal it, otherwise I would need to seal Diarmuid's magical energy entirely." she said. "But I did think of a different solution, though I am not sure of how much either one of you two will like it."

"Let's hear it then." said Diarmuid from the table while stuffing more food on his mouth.

Both Medea and I looked at each other for a moment before looking at him.

"What? You are literally five steps away from me and are not even whispering, you thought I wouldn't hear you or something?" he asked confused while shaking his head before focusing again on his competition.

"Well, we weren't planning on hiding it so it doesn't matter." I reply with an amused look. "But I did think you were to focused on the food to notice us talking."

Diarmuid chuckled a bit. "Well, she already has eaten five more plates than me, so at this point I can only admit that this victory is hers." he said while placing his food down. "Now, why don't you tell us about this crazy idea of yours?" asked Diarmuid while cleaning his hands, his attention focused on Medea.

"Well, I got a bit curious about Saber's form so I studied it a bit before you got here while she was busy eating." said Medea while looking at me. "And I believe that if we can push Diarmuid into Alter form, the new corruption should deal with his current corruption. Basically using a poison to kill another poison, theoretically it should overwhelm the corruption in him, especially because of how small it is."

I raised an eyebrow at her words as a small smile appeared on my face. "So instead of finding the needle, your plan is to set the entire haystack on fire?"
