"Jade! Please wait," I called out.
She didn't stop.
I jogged after her and grabbed her by the elbow.
"Hey. Are you okay?"
"Yes. I'm okay. Just—"
She sighed out loud.
"I don't like this anymore ."
"You're scared."
"Scared?"
"Yeah. You are scared about letting people in. About letting me in."
The confused look in her eyes became defensive and angry.
"Who do you think you are? You don't know me."
"I might not know everything about you but I know you're scared about being letting people in because your mother left, your father left."
"How dare you," she whispered with rage.
"I love you and I hate to see you restraining yourself from being happy Jade."
Her jaw tensed.
"You don't know me," she gritted.
"I love you. I wished you would let yourself be loved and be happy."
"No. I don't want you. I don't want another Daphne in my life."
