Dream

Standing in an abandoned vast ground surrounded by brownish-dry soil that turned the entire area into barren land. Precisely as a blank space without signs of life, no plants or river. as if this place was persecuted by God executing everything to death and emptiness. Undoubtedly no living thing would survive.

Examining the surrounding hesitantly before deciding to take a step on the soil that made a crushing noise once the heel set on it. unknown where she was or which way to go.

On the soil surface that she was stepping on, she sensed how the temperature below her heels has risen rapidly forcing her to quicken her steps attempting to avoid her feet from getting burnt by the relentless heat. 'Is this hell?' the assuming thought crossed her mind as she raced to escape the scorching heat from the underground.

.

The time was unknown as to how long she has been running in this lifeless place. Without a sign of the ground temperature stopping. Despite how many times she has changed direction. Yet, the land was abandoned not even a sign of life could she find.

Her eyes were welled in tears from the scorching pain she has tolerated. Once she lowered her gaze to her feet, the fair skin that used to be there has currently torn out by the burned scratch. She couldn't contain screaming at such a horrifying sight seeing her own flesh slowly coming off ' let me wake up I can't take it any longer '

"Valskeira.." A voice came from behind.

Turning her face following where the voice came from. Still, there was no one in this vast barren land beside her. made her confused as to what was going on, and why she has to suffer in this hell zone. That was the last thing that run to her mind before the scene gradually darkened.

.

.

Widening her eyes, panting rapidly, her gaze was everywhere before breathed a sigh of relief once she found herself in the inn, on the bed, and in Arel's embrace.

'sigh.. it was just a dream' she glanced at her feet which were still fine and breathed a sigh of relief once more.

Arel has woken up by her sudden spasm "Are you feeling hurt?" He jolted up, trying to turn her body to check where she was hurt but Keira stopped him.

"I'm fine... my whole body hurts"

"..."

Arel's face twisted "You must have damaged your brain, why you said such opposing words" he then hastily got up "I need to find more medicine"

"No no no don't go.." she reached out to grab his hand "Ugh.." but the pain from her injured arm stopped her.

Arel helped her lie down "Don't get up, don't walk, and don't do anything today"

"my arm's injured not my feet"

"Doesn't matter"

"Aren't we going back to the mystic forest?"

"We'll go when you're recovered, It's not safe to return like this" After he finished speaking, he went to the campfire to boil another decoction for her.

Keira sighed in despair, wanting to return to the mystic forest. She missed the peaceful tree house. Though the deer tribe was interesting It's not as comfortable as her home.

.

.

"Those monsters are gone" Arel placed the decoction cup near the bed.

"Huh? What I found were monsters?"

"Yes" he sat down beside her and continued "They're wicked creatures that live in this world, used to be a normal person but decide to be on the evil side and embrace the evil energy"

"It's quite sad" She lowered her eyes, how desperate those people need to be to choose an evil life.

"Don't sympathize with it. you almost got killed" He handed her the decoction.

She wrinkled her nose at the dark liquid 'It's so bitter..' held her breath, and gulp it down. After drinking she turned her droopy eyes to Arel.

"Don't be sad It will help relieve your pain"

"..." But Keira still had a gloomy expression on her face.

"Alright Alright, shall I cook some delicious meal for you?" When Arel spoke her face instantly beamed.

she hurriedly told him everything she wanted to eat and Arel left the room to find it.

.

.

Lying on the bed. she was so bored and thought about how the pheasant and the plants were doing. Though before they reached the deer tribe, Arel had fed the pheasant and stored a lot of food in the nest. Hopefully, that will be enough for several days.

While she was thinking, there was a sound of footsteps at the door, so she got up from the bed and walked to the door to see if Arel had returned but why didn't he open the door? She then swung the door open.

Frost standing at the doorway. His green eyes were filled with concern. The tall figure leaned closer and carefully pulled Keira into his arms.

His warmth and tenderness permeated throughout Keira's body. She remembered this feeling even though it had been a long time since he hugged her so tenderly.

"How are you" he asked, stroking her head.

"I'm fine. Arel gave me the decoction and I'm getting better" she slowly loosened her embrace.

"That's good.." and handed her a wooden jar.

She picked it up and opened it to look inside "What's this for?"

"It's sweet. You've been taking a decoction recently so I thought you might need this.." he said shyly as his cheeks turned red, which was a stark contrast to his bearded face.

Keira giggled at his expression. She then dipped her finger into the jar filled with a dark brown sticky liquid that looked precisely like buckwheat honey.

She lifted her finger and tasted it. Suddenly her eyes lit up. 'This is honey, it's honey!'

"Where did you find it?" She was so excited, Finally found a new condiment.

"It's a liquid that produces by plants in the forest. If you like it, I'll get more"

"Wait, when I will be recovered, can you take me to see it?"

"Of course" he was delighted to see Keira was happy with what he had given her.

"Thank you so much, When a..."

"Why are you standing there?" Asked Arel, who had just returned from looking for herbs. He dislike what he was witnessing, How cheerfully his mate was chatting with Frost.

'I'm done guys..' Keira rushed over and hugged Arel's arm "Frost bring this to me" her voice was as soft as it could be, trying to calm him down as best as she can.

"For you?"

"Yes, for me.."

That's it, Arel lifted her onto his shoulder and shut the door.

He laid her down on the bed, take the wooden jar from her hand, and set it aside. Then he went and sat quietly by the campfire.

Keira was at a dead end, She didn't know that her mate would be this mad. All she thought was just 'I just want to eat honey ..'

she hurriedly got up and wrapped around Arel's waist from behind "Husband.. please don't be angry"

"..."

"You know that I love you more than anything right?"

"..."

"I just want to eat honey.. It's just a damn honey"

"..."

"alright I'll throw it away now" she turned around to pick up the wooden jar but was stopped by Arel's hand that reached out to pull her into his embrace.

"Don't go"
