A female's figure walked nervously circling around the chamber, now she had more to think about. not only her husband had disappeared. Yet, a psychopath demanded a flower, Feeling like her head was all over the place again.
She swung the door open. Excessive anxiety made her stomach growl with hunger. Wondering why It has been several hours and there was no sign of Xander returning. Does she have to go out and hunt prey by herself?.. Umm That's probably not the right option. certainly, she will instead become the prey, not the hunter.
Such a large fox tribe, she wouldn't believe that there was no store for her to buy food, and from what she had noticed, this tribe was remarkably progressive. She was certain that the trade here would be on par with Xander's tribe. Luckily, she still has cubics that Arel gave her to carry along and now It's time for her to use them to buy stuff.
Although the fox tribe looked spacious, the tribe's layout was repeatedly duplicated. Its advantage was systematization but the disadvantages were confusing and easy to get lost due to the lack of noticeable landmarks. Moreover, with how bad luck Keira so far possessed along with her poor remembering skills, she now firmly embraced the 'Good luck she thought she still had' before roaming into the crowd to find a food store.
It might not be that bad, How chaotic can a Fox tribe be? The deer tribe that was called the great trading hub, she has also run through it before. Why would this tribe be a pain though?
Overestimating her path-remembering skills was not a good idea and it was something that Keira should have thought but sadly, she didn't. despite how the experience had taught her many times but why should she be worried? Let's go!
Keira followed the crowd. Passing through large and small wooden dome-shaped houses. She witnessed that this tribe had a lot of females, Definitely deserving of being a fox tribe, each female was as beautiful as though she was walking in a vixen village. In addition to their pretty appearance, their posture was also impressive, such admirable surroundings.
Maybe she should ask one of them about the store. In such a tribe with this high amount of females, she was sure there would be an interesting place.
Heading straight to a fox girl who was brushing her hair at the roadside. Not only did this female was pretty she also looked sassy and likable, attracting Keira to her delightful ambiance. Her autumn orange hair curled down to the middle of her back shining brightly was an eye-catcher among the crowd, contrasting with her moss green leather bandeau dress that enhanced her to look like a beautiful fairy in a fairytale. She's about the same height as Keira and has a sporty body. When Keira met her caramel brown eyes, the female gave her a friendly smile.
Keira waved her hand in greeting before walking over. Though it was strange that she suddenly waved to a stranger. but it's always good to make friends, especially in this unfamiliar world.
"Hey!" The fox female waved in response "oh my goodness girl, be careful!" before hurriedly pulling Keira away off the road to save her from being hit by a wagon behind.
Keira cautiously backed away from the road "Ah, I was so reckless"
The female's gaze followed the wagon as if she was cursing it inside her head "Yeah it's always like this here, a group of wagons comes to deliver the goods"
"Goods?"
Her gaze went back to Keira "Oh, are you new here? that explains why I have never seen you before"
"yes I just got here a few days and haven't explored the place yet"
"Ah, I see .." She nodded with a finger rubbing her chin in a thoughtful expression "I'm actually free now. If you need a guide I'll show you around, shall we?" she offered.
"Actually it's good too.." Keira said as she rubbed her arm hesitantly "But I haven't eaten yet. I was looking for a food store here, do you know a place?"
Her eyes lit up as she heard Keira mention food "If it's about food, you've asked the right person! I'm starving as well, so let's go, I'll take you to the best cooking in town" She hurriedly grabbed Keira's hand and dragged her away.
"Hey, uh.. I'm Keira. We talked for so long that I forgot to introduce myself"
The female turned around "I'm Margaret, or you can call me Mag. I'm the eldest daughter of the Fox chief and ofcourse there's no one who knows this tribe better than me. especially if it's about food, just follow me alright?"
"The Fox Chief's daughter? Do you mean.. you are Robin's sister?" But the features of Robin and Mag were too different. Even though they were both beautiful, the ambiance coming out of the two was very conflicting.
Mag raised her eyebrows "Yeah, have you met Robin?" How strange that Keira met with Robin when these days her sister was busy chasing after that deer chieftain.
"Ah..yes, I met her. A female who's…quite interesting" Keira spoke in an unbiased tone. She shouldn't bad-mouth Robin in front of her sister.
"Hah!, I don't think it's a good meeting, between you and my sister" She chuckled "It's fine, She's my half-sister. We have the same mother but different fathers. but also regarded as the daughter of the chieftain. Sadly, she was the tribe chief's only blood daughter, causing her to um.. be like that.. If that girl did anything to offend you, then I apologize on behalf of my sister"
It was an explanation that made Keira feel slightly relieved. Mag was such a good and well-attitude older sister. Talking to her helped Keira feel less uncomfortable.
"No no, everything is fine. There's nothing to worry about yet"
Mag laughed, "Hah!.. nothing to worry about yet. I got your point so well"

.
They arrived at a square with numerous trading stalls. The place was quite crowded with beastmen but still had some space to walk. Mag led her straight down an alleyway with rather complicated passages, but it didn't take long for them to arrive at the front of a store.
"This is my mate's mother's store, she is the best at cooking I'm sure you will like it! come come let's get in" Mag pulled Keira inside.
After Keira stepped inside, she was greeted by the aromatic cuisine with the fragrance of the braise cooked with unrecognized condiments, similar to the unique scent in the Japanese restaurant that she had frequently visited when she was in her world.
In the middle of the room was a large stone pot. It was huge, like a cauldron with many wooden bowls lined up on the table not far away. Judging from the interior of this store, it's probably a primitive restaurant? but without seats for the guest. Yet, it was certain that this place sells food and it seemed to have a favorable business if observe by the amount of soup that was left merely at the bottom of the pot.
"Mom!" Mag let go of Keira's hand before walking deeper into the restaurant "Mom!"
"I'm here, Mag" A plump middle-aged female walked over. She glanced at Keira in puzzlement and approached where Keira was standing "Ouhh My lovely customer.. Are you here to order stew?" she asked with a gentle seller voice, smilingly at her.
Mag walked over after hearing the voice of the person she was looking for "Mom, this is my new friend Keira" Mag came closer and wrapped her arm around Keira's shoulders.
She glanced at Mag and switched to Keira "welcome welcome! to the best stew in this tribe my dear. I'm Olivia. Have you eaten yet?" She asked in a friendly tone. Made Keira feel warm in her heart, such a person with an overflowing ambiance of kindness.
"I haven't eaten yet.. uh..How much is the price of the stew?"
Olivia hurriedly waved her hand "Noo my dear I don't charge with Margaret's friend. I'm glad just how you and mag kindly stopped by" Olivia went straight to pick up a wooden bowl and scooped the stew into it "Mag, will you eat too?" She glanced at Mag.
"Of course, your stew is the best"
Olivia chuckled "such a sweet child" Then she took them to a table that was secretly hiding behind a wall for the restaurant's owner to use as a resting space.
While they sat down to eat soup Mag turned to look at Olivia "Is there anything I can help you with? Are you busy delivering food these days?"
Olivia was startled. She just remembered that she had an urgent order "Oh.. yes! I almost forgot" She got up and hurriedly walked towards the cauldron.
"Mag, are you going back to the Chieft's Dome? can you deliver the stew over there?" Olivia shouted from the front store.
Mag raised her face up from the bowl "Who ordered? Tribe Chief?"
Olivia shook her head "a guest. The guard told me he stayed at the chief's guest chamber I don't know much but I believe you know better than me"
Usually, Olivia didn't get along well with the fox's chief due to his character of having a high ego and looking down on people of lower rank. The fact that the chief's daughter mated to Olivia's son was a situation that the chief was not pleased with. Though Mag was only his half-daughter made he didn't mind that excessively but that didn't mean that Olivia's family will not be affected by the insult. Fortunately, Mag's genuine love for her son convinced her that Mag wouldn't bully him as the chief did.
Mag nodded "Alright mom, I'll go deliver the food at the Chief's Dome" Then turned her face to Keira "Will you go with me or do you need to go somewhere? or it's too inconvenient? but I'm sure it will be fast, and then we can continue our exploring what would you say?"
Keira swallowed the last piece of meat then answer "Yes I guess I can help you carry a bowl or two if you don't mind my clumsiness, I'll go with you"
That's fine as well since Keira's free. Maybe Xander was still there at the fox chief's place assumed by what robin has mentioned.
