Group of monsters

Keira left the room for a breath of fresh air to calm herself down. Although she didn't like to be anyone's tool but this was the choice she'd made. whether what happened, she had to find that damn thorn flower to break out of this fussy contract.

'He said it grows in a wasteland right?' She then peered at the surrounding, A place filled with beautiful scenery of lush forests and peaceful nature. 'Is he serious? Where am I going to find a wasteland in a fertile place'

Keira bit her lip in apprehensive as she strolled around aimlessly trying to figure out how to find that stupid flower. 'It's favored and it's being hunted.. Will Arel know about this?'

Suddenly, there was a roar sounded at the entrance of the mystic forest that pushed Keira out of her deep thoughts.

She turned to the roaring crowd, confused as to why such a peaceful forest could be so noisy.

.

.

At the entrance of the mystic forest, hordes of monsters of various species were encircled and slammed frantically to shatter through the forest's fog.

shocked keira, Seeing such a huge horde of monsters 'What's going on!!' While Keira was still shocked and caught off guard. Unexpectedly, A long monster tail wrapped around her leg and dragged her out of the mystic forest boundary.

"Ughhhhh" She screamed as she lost her footing and plunged to the ground. The hard crash caused her to curl and clutch her stomach in pain.

The monsters were stunned when they heard Keira scream as if they hadn't intentionally knocked her down with such force.

The pain merged with rage caused Keira to sniff back her tears and lift herself up. She glanced at the surrounding monsters with fury despite how disgusting and dreadful their appearance was.

"How dare you!" She shouted as she was extremely irritated, her slender fingers drove to firmly gripped the pair of daggers as she swept over those mesmerized amethyst eyes that had now turned into a luminous vendetta, ready to get rid of everything that gets in her way.

This was probably the craziest choice she made, but if she didn't prepare to fight, there was no other way since she was surrounded by hordes of monsters that won't back down whether she will fight or not. Since they had made it clear that they didn't want to let her go. Keira instantly rushed over to attack the nearest monster.

The smell of blood engulfed the area as Keira slashed the daggers at the monster's neck causing it to crash to the ground.

The sight she was seeing was so disgusting that she had to turn her face away from the headless monster corpse.

This was the first time that she had killed a monster. The hand that was tightly gripped on the daggers started to tremble in shock as she looked at how the monster's blood gushing out of the corpse. She forced back her fear because now, she wasn't alone but there were hordes of bloodthirsty monsters who were furious once they witnessed their friend being killed right before their eyes by a female.

"Hooo! " The roar of the monsters approached her. They were keen to strike and ready to take her life at any moment.

She regained awareness and cautiously slashed her dual daggers at the monsters. regardless of how great her skill was, still she was at a disadvantage, unable to deal with numerous monsters attacking her in all directions, and with her human body, she didn't have sufficient power to fight these massive monsters.

By the time she was killing other monsters, she got hit badly in the chest by a monster's tail that sneaked up and attacked her.

Keira suppressed the pain as she gripped her chest with her hand and found large amounts of blood gushing from the wound, she choked for air and was unaware of being hit on her leg by another monster's tail causing Keira to collapse to her knees.

"Ahh!" she screamed out in pain. With her wounded body, her chances of survival were nearly zero. The only way to survive was to rush away. otherwise, she would surely die here.

She stood up, gasping for breath, and retreated closer to a nearby cliff. She wasn't sure that she could climb in this wounded shape. But this was the only way she could escape.

She quickly leaped up, grabbed the vined firmly before narrowly climbing to the top. If she were a little slower those monsters' tails must have pulled her down.

"*Sigh*.. that was crazy .." she panted as she dragged herself out of the area. No matter how fatigued she was, she had to keep moving before the monsters followed.

Later, Keira was dragging herself up the ridge of the hilly mountain with great difficulty. Hiking up hills in such an injured state was frankly not a pleasant thing to do. Still, her survival force pushed her to keep moving.

The blood from the wounds on both her chest and leg had now splattered onto her dresses and her whole body was stained in blood. Her eyes started to blur from the excessive bleeding. If she still struggling to keep moving, she'd probably fainted in a few seconds.

And then the image of Arel flashed into her eyes. That gentle smile, as if telling her that she had done well, flashed from her memory. Keira dropped herself to the ground and leaned against a rock as tears welled up in her eyes.

She didn't know if she would have another chance to see his smile again 'I'm so tired Arel..'

.

Suddenly, a cloud of smoke slowly formed in front of Keira, revealing the figure of a crimson red-haired male who rushed over and picked up her powerless body.

Her arms swayed as he ran, causing the wound on her chest to sting through her entire body.

She glimpsed at the male's face, seeing his face was filled with worry. The fiery red eyes were filled with such grief that Keira couldn't understand why this stranger was so sad for her.

In the blink of an eye, she felt an indescribable feeling of being connected to him, a feeling that she couldn't explain as if she had known him for a long, long time.

Using her remnant strength, Keira lifted her hand to hold his cheek and whispered in a low voice "It's alright.." She just wanted to comfort him because his eyes were so miserable.

After she finished her words, she closed her eyes and let the darkness gradually take their place.
