After an hour, Raphaēl felt less nervous with his new roommate, but still a bit on edge whenever the young boy made sudden movements.
They were now in the lounge, a spacious place he learned was only for four people, this part of the dorm housings were for aristocrats, mainly of the highest order. The headmaster decided to relieve tension and make others comfy, to not force too many people in a dorm.
The area around him alone felt expensive, but the whole room would cost a fortune. Just how much money do people here have to not bat an eye? Then again, being a human and all in hiding anything was impressive.
The room was an open concept, with a bay window, surrounded by plants. The centerpiece was the television, with a bookshelf display built around it in ivory-colour, while a chandelier hung overhead of the large l-shaped couch, sofa-chairs, and fur rugs. "Hmm you've really never been swimming right?" The prince asked all of a sudden- once more changing the topic.
Shaking his head, he had a bit of a bad feeling. "I'll show you my space!", he declared, standing up from the lounge room couch, "Afterwards you have to show me your's, Rael."
It seemed like that would be his new name, the closest thing this boy would remember. Not even getting to pick himself up, he was forced to his feet with a "gentle" tug he believed would leave a bruise for a few days.
He was dragged through the hallway and down stairs he did not know existed, to a basement. No, not a basement but a whole oasis.
Water underneath the house likely was not a good idea, but it was far deep under. A good five minute walk, it made him wonder how they dug. The water was held in by a beautiful display of rocks, which may hurt if you land on, decorative palm trees, and there was equipment! How shocking, he did not know how to use them but assumed there may be swimming classes, as he was about to right it down though he got distracted, was that an underground lounge?
Did this school really decided to dig down and expand instead of up? This could just be a resort at this point. Without warning the iridescent-prince jumped straight through into the water apparently taking off his clothes at a random point while he gawked.
As soon as he entered his body transformed and his tail grew giant. The pool was no match for him as his tail was nearly the same length. He wasn't kidding that his tail was the size of a whale.
"Jump in!" He called. His face resurfaced, his hair seemed untouched by the water, instead now even shinier from the water droplets, his lips had a deeply engraved smile which rivaled the beauty of his tail. His tail had an endless amount of scales all to which different slightly from the rest to form an iridescent masterpiece.
Once again, he was picked up and dragged but this time by a tail into water. Now that he saw it up close, he wished for his notebook. Axul's body had grown not just by tail but limbs. His arms were longer and nearly as long as his now, and starting from his hips it seemed like the start of the tail begun and he became curious.
"Could I touch you?" He asked bringing his face closer to his roommate's nearly tickling him with his breath.
Batting his green eyes he steadied himself by wrapping his legs around his torso as his tail starting from the hips widened greatly. He stared innocently as though he was so curious to how such a person could exist.
He failed to notice the sea creature's body start to go down in the water as he put his hands on his torso while his lips parted taking a breath. "Would you let me inspect your tail? It must be strong to pick me up and now I'm beyond curious after seeing." plosh-.
He felt his body land and submerge. After a few seconds he fell to the side, slipping regardless of trying to hold on. The other boy paid no mind but instead picked him back up with his tail after seeing him lightly choke.
"Humans would be a lot cooler if they could swim." He heard a faint murmur as the tail placed him onto his back, allowing him to see how the tail works.
For five minutes he muttered about anatomy and compared the two of them together a multitude of times. "Do they have waterproof notebooks at the store?"
Shaking his head furiously the sea creature sighed. "Nope, likely not." He has appreciated being admired but it was likely smart to neither get inspected in the future nor encourage his behavior.
He always liked attention but now it was painful. Feeling different body parts such as the ribs get tugged and skin nearly being ripped apart to satisfy the curiosity of a human who clear didn't know better.
If it weren't for that face… A crazy yet interested gaze that locked onto a target which he saw earlier. He hadn't quite realised just how serious that look was, nor the force behind the face.
When the human finished he was returned to land, only for him to be drenched with his clothes, and the prince behind. "How will you be human?"
An obvious question. "Grab the potion from my shirt." He responded, running a hand through his hair. The smaller at the moment human complied, searching through and finally finding the one.
He hoped he didn't mind him touching his clothes with wet hands. "A swim feels great." The prince said after gulping down the blue purple gradient liquid. Within a few seconds his legs reappeared.
He was back to his smaller stature which he found better. He was the size of a child, to his village's standards, and things were much more comforting when he only reached his chest and not fifteen times him.
"You look cuter this way." A small mumbled escaped, while writing down the significance of this event. So many questions of anatomy answered.
The small prince pouted. "Hey you damn vermin watch yer mouth." He heard a growl but paid no mind. He was giddy.
His notebook was already an actually fifth full. Time could only tell what would happen to the indoor study. It may just be a hoarder den.
While soaking, he felt water drip to his notebook causing him to rapidly shut the treasure.
"Oh no. Not today." He muttered putting his book to the side. Raising a brow to prince turned to him easily saving a hand.
"Vortex", a mutter rang through the room and a whirlwind of extremely high speeds ushered out completely freezing and lifting him.
When it went he was dry yet beyond cold. "Brr…" he shuddered as the chills ran down his spine, his clothes a slight mess due to the strong force against his body and hair now messy.
"Need a fire to warm…" the sea boy tried to ask but only to receive a violent head shake. He would much prefer a towel…
But his notebook! Thankfully it wasn't in the endless oasis water as he ran across the room for it. Hand to his head and shaking it the pink haired boy commented on the situation. "Humans are really special to have a one yet five track mind at once."
After the two went up, and eventually found the office with no interruptions the human jumped with glee. "So this is what it's like!!"
He was much more excited than the boy who had his head tilted. A spacious room with glass walls windows, a large aquarium built into the wall with heating! not a bad size for maybe a fish or two the boy thought.
The aquarium ran halfway across the wall, and the room was about twenty by twenty with good depth so the aquarium wasn't slim. However it would be a pain to clean.
The walls had beautiful royal blue wallpaper with real wood and and he even got a slider! Wall by walls were lined with bookshelves.
A safety hazard to be sure but the height of luxury as this room was his to do with from now on no matter how unorganized that would be for the future.
Maybe having a vampire roommate won't be bad when you have a study! "Do you want to be an author?" The prince asked. He was admiring the desk with so much space and drawers when the question suddenly hit him.
"Me? No. Humans don't have the luxury to have jobs in this new world yet. We need to work on getting ourselves up to society first." He responded with a scratch to his cheek.
Truth by told his dream would be to study limitless wonders but the world was not so kind. Sometimes work was a necessity for a species to evolve and eventually repopulate once more.
"Who said you can't, though?", the peach-eyed boy ignored the previous statement. "An author counts as a job and that earns you money, having a human who works as an author has not been around for how long?" He questioned leaning next to him and examining the desk as well.
The thought got his mind to race. "Over a hundred…" he mumbled. Short dream. To be an author would be interesting but he only wanted knowledge, not to be able to tell folklores a few years down the future.
"Would you like to help me with homework, since you're so smart?" A sudden question rang through the room and echoed causing the human to mentally deadpan.
The sea-boy was only buttering him up.. …All for homework help.
