Chapter 44 Cold War

"Henry Russell, stop the car." Charlotte Cooper touched her chest, her face looking rather unwell.

Seeing her expression, Henry slowed down the car, looking a bit annoyed, but not saying a word.

When they got home, Henry went straight upstairs.

Charlotte sat on the sofa, feeling hungry. She wanted someone to prepare her something to eat, but then remembered that the housemaid who cooked had already gone out.

Opening the fridge, she found some meat and vegetables inside. After some hesitation, she decided to go buy some frozen dumplings from the nearby market.

It was already dark outside, but it wasn't too dark due to the streetlights.

As Charlotte was on her way home after buying the food, she encountered a big dog. She didn't know where its owner was, as it was wandering around alone with a long leash.

Charlotte liked dogs, but only small ones, like teacup dogs. For this large animal, she still felt a little weak in the legs.
