Hearing Amelia's seemingly consenting words, Jolson's heart blossomed with joy.
"Amelia, really?" Jolson excitedly grasped her hand and said with concern, "Brother promises not to bother you, to just quietly watch over you. If possible, I'd like to cultivate with you until you come home with me."
Amelia replied, "This place is for female cultivators; after the evening sutras, you can't stay here any longer."
"Ok, then I'll come back tomorrow morning when you all start to cultivate again," Jolson immediately responded.
In the time that followed, Jolson did as he had said, silently observing Amelia's daily life.
In the morning, they labored, then returned to recite the midday sutras, followed by lunch, then some free time before everyone retreated to their rooms for a nap.
After waking from the nap, they continued reciting sutras for a while, then resumed their labor, some going up the mountain to gather firewood, others continuing to toil in the fields.
