We were just a few minutes away to reach our destination. We parked the vehicle under a small shed. We had to patiently wait for the arrival of the little kid. Everything was set up, we were just loitering for the green light and we would be off for our mission. Following our plan, the car was supposed to reach that area in the upcoming ten minutes. My best bet was that we must be prepared because they may or may not get halted because of the traffic.
We had a few members of Alexander's team guiding us from the head office. Well, it wasn't the head office as such although it was the place where the majority of the staff members were working and guiding others for several missions. I came up to know that Alexander had several more offices for other purposes. Mostly away from this town.
He was indeed a wealthy person and knew most of the rich people out there or those who have superior grades. I was rather surprised when I heard that news. It was certain that his assistant was Alexander's right arm man. He knew absolutely everything about Alexander's success and his business. The surprising part was that he fully owned those businesses.
His assistant further told me that Alexander either liked to own the whole business or to purchase shares in foreign companies. He was indeed a busy man, he had a lot of people working for him at several locations. I lit up a cigarette and began smoking, as the other members of the group were outside waiting for the commencement of our mission. They weren't scared that they would get caught or seen by others. For them, this is a very small mission, a fellow staff member told me that they had done a much harder and tenser mission than this.
They were so confident that nothing would ever happen to them. Well, we were chatting for a bit with one of the members. I was surprised to know that he was a smoker like me, so I gave him a cigarette. It seemed that he appreciated my cigarette as he had begun conversing with me more than usual. He told me quite a lot of things about Alexander's work and all. He seemed to be in a good mood, he was just talking to me so openly. We all had some walky-talkies for this mission. Suddenly, it began vibrating, indeed it was one of the staff members in one of Alexander's offices. They were only two people from there surveying and guiding us for this mission. They had made all the required plans for us to kidnap the little girl. Well, we were just a few minutes away from the beginning and set up the vehicle in the correct place, when suddenly we received a crucial message.
" We've got bad news, it seems that the driver took another road."
" I best believe that they are aware of our mission of kidnapping the little girl."
" Shit!" I replied to their message.
I was frustrated that we couldn't accomplish this mission.
" Wait, I'll inform you guys, once I get any updates."
" Alright, sure" I acknowledged their message this time being slightly more polite.
I went aside for a quick cigarette pause. Andrew joined me, he was the one who previously joined me to smoke a few cigarettes under a small shed. We quickly became friends during this short time spell. It seems that offering somebody a cigarette can really flatter them and you can also further become friends with that fellow person.
Following the message we received, Andrew didn't seem to be demoralised at all whatsoever. He was rather not even thinking about it. For a few good seconds, I thought to myself, that I was overthinking and making this mission a big deal. I was aware that it wasn't a massive mission, following what I had heard from my fellow friend Andrew.
We were hopeful that we would soon receive good news concerning our mission. I was the so-called leader of this mission, and I thought of a better idea.
" So, basically now, the plan I think it will be better if we patiently wait here. "
" It is probably possible that the information they received was probably incorrect."
" I'm not saying that they didn't do the work adequately, but I hope you get what I mean?"
A few seconds later and a few exhales later.
Andrew commenced exchanging with me.
" Well, look you are the leader for this mission, do whatever you feel is right."
" Yes, you are a recruit but the boss trusted you, so do what you want but insure to satisfy his command."
"That's what matters the most at the end and trust me I'm not being sarcastic at all whatsoever."
" Alright, sure, well don't worry I'll accomplish this mission at all cost," I assured Andrew with that sentence.
I went to the side, this time I was alone and I slowly approached the rest of the members and began questioning them for a bit. I can't deny that they politely and respectfully replied to my questions. I was rather surprised by their calm reactions. I thought they'd be jealous or something because I instantly became the leader of the group in my first ever outing with them.
A few members were actually quite older than me and definitely had much more experience than me. I was certain that they will underestimate for any tasks whatsoever. I had to prove all of them wrong by accomplishing the mission nicely. I didn't want to look younger and inexperienced in front of them. Yes, you could call me childish or arrogant, but I never liked it when others underestimated me a lot. I was probably acting lightly foolish when thinking of such things. Nevertheless, I commenced thinking of an efficient solution to this issue. The girl's house wasn't quite far from where I was.
I believe that she was in fact living with her grandparents for a few days. The reasons for this stay were anonymous, nobody was aware of why she was living there. I believed that it was normal for a child to visit and stay at their grandparent's place from time to time. Well, I think that's the childhood a kid can obtain or derive from his/her household. I didn't have many options left in mind to accomplish this mission. The best idea was to wait at that area where the little kid's grandparents stayed at.
There were a few drawbacks to this plan, the first one was that it was quite far away from where we were at that moment and second of all, we had wasted a lot of time there doing absolutely nothing. She probably had reached there, before I even thought of this idea. I didn't waste the time any further, I immediately asked our driver if he knew a shortcut path that lead us to that area. We were massively delayed, however, I was hopeful that she hadn't reached there.
Every second mattered during that period. We all rushed and got into the car, I didn't get any responses from the driver, my best bet was to leave him alone and to see where he will take us at.
Suddenly, the driver seemed to be in a massive hurry, I wasn't very familiar with these streets but I could manage. Although where he took us, I had no clue that such places existed around there. He was driving at full speed, on a dirt road. Obviously, we had to take shortcuts, at full speed. A few branches hit the vehicle's windshield and a few shaky and squeaky bumps later, the vehicle eventually ended up on an asphalted road. Luckily, with the shortcut we took, the drive didn't feel as long as I thought it would be.
The driver was aware of where he had to stop.
Surprisingly, I didn't even hear a single word being uttered by one of the members. For a second, I thought that we had left Andrew there alone all by himself. I double-checked and I saw that all the members for this mission were present in the car. Nobody seemed to be ill or fatigued. There was complete silence in the car. We could easily hear the sound of the engine, rock gravel striking against the vehicle's panels. It was an immediate and unexpected cessation from them. I even thought that they gave up on both the mission and me.
I guessed that the team's morale had hit its lowest point possible. I began doubting my decision makings, and whether I was worthy of being trusted for such enormous missions. Anyway, I ignored it and put it aside for a while. We barely parked the vehicle and out of nowhere our talky walkies began vibrating.
The other members of the group informed and ascertained to us that the girl was indeed living with her grandparents for a good while now. A massive point that had to be outlined was that they were about to arrive at her grandparent's place. I guess they were stuck or delayed somewhere, probably while leaving school or maybe due to a typical afternoon traffic jam.
I never thought that I would actually for once appreciate a traffic jam.
Traffic jams were usually an absurdity, however, they helped me to make a nicer plan than previously. I was certain that I infused the other remaining members of the group, as
I thought of this fabulous idea before the rest of the group members thought of it.
That mandated major guts to have such a thinking mentality. That was enough of praising myself. It was time to return to our mission and this time to successfully pass it without any problems whatsoever.
Everything seemed to be set and ready to be used. Our vehicle was aligned perfectly so that we could easily block the way. Lucky for us that road had only had one exit, therefore any car had to exit out from that exact way. A few minutes, later a white sedan came to that area, the first we had to do was to examine the whole car. I had a cigarette in between my lips, I was casually verifying the plate number of the vehicle. Yes, the car had the same plate number as I expected. From that moment, time felt like it suddenly went so quickly and slowly at the same time. I didn't understand how to explain this unusual sensation.
We set out the traps, and the car as planned went over those spikes. This led to the vehicle having one or a few flat tyres. That was indeed an innovative idea, if a vehicle has a flat tyre, the driver will have no choice but to pull up to the side of the road and begin verifying the damage done. Everything went according to our plan until we noticed that the car was being perfectly driven without showing any signs of a flat tyre. At that point, the car had to start slowing down or lose control.
The complete opposite occurred, time was flying, and I instantly thought of an idea. I shortly sat in the driver's seat of our van, I didn't have time to lose. I overtook the vehicle and blocked the path that led to the only exit of that road.
Now, the driver was helpless, he couldn't go forwards or backwards. Surprisingly, all of these occurred within a short time, everything basically happened all of a sudden. It felt so unreal, I stepped in the van drove a massive heavy-duty van and overtook a sedan vehicle. Moreover, I managed to block his path. Now, we had to be sure that the driver didn't carry any harmful weapons, if he did we had already planned out a strategy.
Andrew approached me and began telling me several things useful and useless things.
" Nah, this driver is a coward, I don't even think that this guy is carrying a weapon."
" He was so terrified that he put up the windows of the car and locked it."
" He really thinks we are stupid or what?"
I instantly interrupted his conversation.
I had to calm him down, he was very short-tempered, and he should definitely not go out of character because of meaningless causes.
" No, don't you dare do some weird foolishness, just at all time act professional."
" By the way, have you noticed any damage on the car's tyres or other parts?"
" Cause it really seemed absurd, the car was being driven properly without any problems."
" It seems that he purposely didn't go over our traps, to be honest, you did a great job when u blocked his way to the exit," Andrew replied.
We both had finished our work from there, and the rest of the crew members were responsible to take the girl out of the car without harming her. They used a tool that allowed them to break the car's window, from then on they manually opened the door. The other members were keeping an eye on the driver, they basically tied his arms using a rope and taped his mouth.
We actually kept a handkerchief that contained some liquid that could make someone fall deeply asleep. It wouldn't cause much harm to that person, just along with a nap. That was a good way to calm that little girl down. We safely kept the girl in the van, weirdly Andrew decided to park that car properly under a shed.
"Well young man, you've done an excellent job today, to be honest, you lroved that you have an elite's mentality." Andrew told me.
" Thank you, hahaha work always comes first, thanks to you too for trusting me in the beginning." I responded.
Andrew just smiled and tapped me in the shoulders. I acknowledged it and smiled back to him. Our friendship was bonding, that was great. It felt great to integrate with that group. They believed in me during crucial periods and I executed the mission perfeclty. I'm aware that it's definitely not a thing to be happy about, kidnapping someone is absolutely horrible. However, that's what I was doing for a living and I had to accomplish tasks adequately.
The driver was inside we made sure that we didn't leave any evidence behind. Everything seemed to go according to our plan, Andrew quickly untied the driver's hands and ran to the van immediately.
From there, the driver fully accelerated the vehicle to its maximum speed. At that moment, we were certain that no one would catch us, we had already planned out the paths we would take to reach our destination.
The driver was incapable of harming us in any way. Our van didn't even have a plate number for proof either and furthermore, there were a lot of black vans in that area. We couldn't make it so apparent, no wonder Alexander's team were the most promising for such cases in that area.
