SandCastles (II)

Also since both my parents were genius but I myself was an averagely talented wizard it was expected that the dominant genes of my parents will show up in my sister and she was expected to be another genius from my family. The magical talent was not something which could be measured before magic was performed as it was a measure of the capacity of a body to hold magic and the conductivity of a body to the magical force.

In her case it was expected that by the time she turns eleven her magical force would have touched the ceiling of what a wizard or witch who has graduated from school would have. These factors might do well in future before her teachers or other relatives but currently she was depending on her clumsy cuteness and still climbing trees or hanging around on her elder brother's shoulder like a little monkey.

My so called magical research, which I was quite certain now was a joke in the eyes of the seniors of the family as it was not quite pointless, but rather not much of use either. I always picked a topic far beyond my level and then I can't perform in it. This wayI have kept myself too busy to cultivate an exceptional relation with my sister but maybe it was because of blood relation that she was still quite close to me .

When memory started flashing one by one across my eyes what I felt was regret the most as there was so much more magic that I could have performed but there was only so little time which I could have spent with my sister before she grows up into an adult. I was a bit sad that my parents were never that close to me but most of the regret was centred around how little time I spent with my family. The most important thing now is to make memories.. happy memories, memories which I can remind myself when I will be going through tough phase or memories which I can recall when I grow old. This love, this family it is the most important thing for me now that I have been given a second chance and this I will preserve.

Magic is something which I will continue to grow as I believe that tomorrow I can help my family better if something happened to me just like the elder saved my life from a certain death, I can also use magic to protect my loved ones. But that's for tomorrow, today I will make the most beautiful sand castles of the world for the most beautiful little angel.

"Brother, which castles will we make today ?"

"We will make my school today, the Hogwarts Castle. "

"No, I know how to make that, Uncle Robin taught me that. Lets make a big Castle today, super big. "

"Alright baby girl we will make a super big castle, but Hogwarts is super big too. "

"Is it bigger than grand da's castle?" What bias...if someone else, his direct descendants included, in our family dare to call the patriarch of the family anything other than grandfather or elder grandfather, he will be sore enough not to sit on his butt for months even with magical remedies but here is the little fellow calling him grand da, even shortening his existing name. And I am quite certain this is not only in private even in public, she probably calls him that and the old man laughs it off. The old man likes it too otherwise mother has taught her to be more respectful.

"Um, no." Now I am reminded that despite her cuteness, she has a habit of making people speechless once she starts talking.

"No, then make grand da's castle."

The castle she was referring to was the home where the patriarch of family lives. For centuries, Wyllt ancestral home has been in Hemlock islands near the Pacific Ocean. It was both the family headquarters and magic laboratory for ages.

The Wyllt family has numerous side branches who lived in different villages across the Europe and some even across different continents but the patriarch and the main force was always stationed in the Garhys castle on the Hemlock islands.

Usually kids are not allowed there due to high amount of magical experiments everywhere and only twice a year they were welcomed when whole family gathers for Christmas and summer vacation classes.

But, Shayna was there every week roaming around on her grandfather's and grandmother's shoulder. She was a quiet kid and so keeping her around was no bother. And the older generation all loved to pinch her cheeks. So, everytime either father or mother went there, Shayna will accompany them which was nearly every week.

"Alright then let's make it."

"Make an ocean too. Use your stick. "

"It's called a wand, sweetie. You have one too, right?"

"Uh_uh. But it doesn't work. Mama said that I have to grow as tall as her waist before she buys me a working one."

"Alright. Lets make a castle in the middle of the lake. See your brother perform awesome magic."

I heaved and hawed my morning and afternoon playing around using levitating magic and Finito to make a sandcastle in the lake with a floating charm to keep it afloat. By the time of lunch, we have created a pretty good replica of Garhys. We were both sweating, but my little sister was happy and I was making progress on my plan of making memories with my loved ones.
