I was currently a fifth year wizard in Hogwarts. Most of the names which would become legendary by the time of Harry Potter were currently either too low-profile or just making their mark in the wizarding world. My first plan of action should be to recruit them all to my cause.
I wasn't planning on ruling the wizarding world as some day I would have to return back to my family if I wanted to grow as a magician but a subtle influence will go a long way in not only elevating my value before the family elders but also presenting me various routes of operation and avenues of resources to be gained. Moreover, resources are always valued and bright minds always exist outside of the close knit community of archmages. Maybe the effect of basics of new magic or a quirky development would be limited at the level of archmages but unless I was an archmage which I was quite certain a very long distance away from me, it would be quite useless to operate only within the confines of the existing family resources and knowledge.
Firstly, I made a list of names which were currently not affiliated with Dumbledore's faction or too entrenched with the dark eaters. I also made a separate list of influential people who were or would be neutral in the conflict but remarkable in the power struggles like the Greengrass family, Emilia bones, Crouch senior etc.
Then I sequentially arranged the chain of events which were recorded in the memory of the deceased soul of politician. At last, I started creating blocks and checks so that each event could be beneficial in some way or another to me.
Finally I have a rough road map of the way I have planned my life and influence to be deeply entrenched in the magical community out there. But first I have to improve my impression and create an influence among my pears in the school which I believe will begin first from my own house and that's Slytherin.
By the time I finished my plans, it was already midnight and I turned to bed. Just as I was going to fall asleep the door of my bedroom creaked open a bit and Shayna entered the room with her sleeping teddy bear in one hand.
I was not surprised as usually when she likes to sleep with family, she either comes to my room or when I am not at home she goes to mother's room or grandparents room. It was a kind of ritual that she would enter a room before sleeping and whichever room she enters, its inhabitants will have to tell her a story before she falls asleep. After she falls in dreamland, if she sleeps in mother's room someone will carry her to her room but as I was lazy, I let her sleep with me as my bed was big enough and she was small enough or if she goes to grandparents room they let her sleep between them.
Even though I was not previously very attentive towards her I was not rude to her either so I might not tell her a story when she comes to my room but I will let her sleep peacefully on my bed most of the time. Earlier sometimes she will get sad or mad and leave if I don't tell her a story or sometimes even I will tell her a story when I was in a good mood but mostly as I grew up, I kept to myself and I didn't interacted much with her. I believe it was a act of negligence of my part previously but now that I have decided differently I decided to surprise and tell her a story.
When she tiptoed in the room and saw me awake at first she stopped as usually I was very strict with her. But when I smile and beckoned her, she quickly jumped into the bed and looked at me with big silver eyes as if begging me to start a story telling session. For a moment, I felt intense guilt that I have not taken care of such a sweet child, and spent so much time when I could have cared for my own blood sister but then I decided that instead of wallowing in the guilt I should do much better from now on. I petted her hair and started telling her the story of bumbling fool and the flying.
That night I promised myself that the thing most I have to protect in the world was not my family's legacy, my wizard's status but the sweet smile of the silver eyed child before me.
