The Second Sheriff was writing as fast as he could, he was writing a letter with lots of words on it. When he had been finally done it after 10 minutes, he put it in an envelope and wrote one name on it 'Mark Potato' He then attached this letter to a hawk, the hawk then flew off into the night. Gabe was being rushed out with a backpack on his back, the Sheriff didn't want to take any chances and tried his best to get him out of town as soon as possible. "Where am I going Second Sir?" The Second Sheriff didn't talk immediately, he then figured that since Gabe was probably freaked out, he needed an explanation. "Ok, listen kid." Gabe tried to be as calm as possible. "There are things that I wanna tell ya, but I can't right now." Gabe was confused. "All I can say is that you were not brought into the world safely and that you are now a target." Gabe was now afraid, "Target? What do ya mean target?" The Sheriff panicked, he had not wanted to startle Gabe. "I'd hate if you have to find out for yourself, but I promise you that one day everything will be explained to you." Gabe was now scared and confused, wondering where he was going, why people were now after him, and how he would get away from it. "How am I going to be safe from these people?" Gabe asked, "Well ya see, The First Sheriff used to be a bounty hunter and he was a part of a duo known as Purple Reaper." Gabe wondered what this had to do with his question. "Anyways, the other person apart of Purple Reaper is a close friend of mine and the First Sheriff, and he is going to be protecting and teaching you to defend yourself from these people." Gabe wondered who this man was, was he a badass bandit who killed all that stood in front of him? Was he another Sheriff? He had so many questions running through his head. "If you take the steam train right now, you should be there by morning and this man will be waiting for you." The Sheriff then walked off like he thought he had handled that problem, only for Gabe to start crying. "Sir Second? Why is all this happening to me?" He was sobbing with tears coming down his face, and the Second Sheriff heard this. "Like I said, kid." The Second Sherif said, "I can't explain everything to ya now, but It will be in the future." Gabe stopped crying for a second and listened, "It hurts me a lot more to keep this stuff from ya than it hurts to be hunted by merciless bounty hunters who want nothing more than money." Gabe then thought the only way to help the situation was to stop crying and act like a man, but the Second Sherif couldn't hold it in. The Second Sherif proceeded to hug Gabe and began to tear up. 'I'm sorry kid. I honest to god am.' He thought in his head. "Well, you best be on your way." He said as he wiped away his tears, Gabe then put on a straight face, "Yes sir!" Gabe said very confidently. "Come on kid, let's go." The deputy had been on his horse, an old brown stallion who looked a bit too worn out. "What's the deputy doing here?" Gabe asked. "Well, you're not gonna go to the train station with people targeting you alone? Aren't ya?" The deputy then hoisted Gabe up to the horse, the two were ready for the journey. "Goodbye kid, I hope you have a nice life." Gabe had been shocked to hear that. "Don't make it sound like I am dying!" The Second Sherif then realized his mistake. "I'd just say see ya later." The Second Sheriff then put on a fake smile to hide his sadness. "See ya later kid." And with that, they went off into the night. The Second Sheriff stood in front of Watersville, he then thought to himself. 'I tried my best to be like you, but I just couldn't...'
The Second Sheriff then thought of a time when he was a kid, he had been at least 7 years old at the time and on the ground crying with lots of marks on him. He then looked up, only to see a tall man standing over him like a tree. The man had been blocking the sun and it was hard to see his face, he wore a black trenchcoat, long brown hair, black boots, a sheriff badge on the outside of his trenchcoat, a black shirt and pants, and a brown cowboy hat on his head with a sheriff logo. "Ya ok kid?" The man said. "Good luck kid, you're gonna need it."
The Deputy of Watertown and Gabe had made it to the train station, after moving all night they had finally made it. They were both sitting on the bench, The Deputy had his revolver ready, all while Gabe had been sleeping next to him on the bench. "Get up you stupid kid!" The Sheriff pushed Gabe off him and off the bench, Gabe then woke up in anger. "WHAT'S THE BIG IDEA!" Gabe screamed. "You're currently being hunted by dangerous bounty hunters, you gotta learn that if you wanna protect yourself, you gotta stay vigilant and ready." Gabe didn't understand. "What's vigilant mean?" The Deputy thought that this kid was hopeless. "Let me put it like this, if you're sleeping, then it will be easier for them bounty hunters to capture you." Gabe was now afraid and got back on the bench, standing up straight and vigilant now that the deputy told him. The train then began to enter the station slowly. "The train's here." Gabe then got excited and began to run toward the train. "Slow down so I can keep track of ya!" They both entered the train and sat on a chair. "Alright kid, you can sleep, I'll keep watch." Gabe was confused. "Didn't you say that I shouldn't ever sleep?" "I did, but you're a kid and need your sleep." Gabe then wondered if the Deputy ever did sleep. "Deputy sir? Don't you need sleep to protect me?" The Deputy then looked at Gabe very maliciously. "I sleep for 30 minutes per day." Gabe had so many questions but was mostly afraid. "How the hell does that work?" The Deputy answered. "Instinct." Gabe then decided not to question it and fell asleep. Meanwhile, 2 seats down, a short chubby man and a skinny tall man had been sitting next to each other, with the skinny tall one looking at Gabe 2 seats down with a devious smile. "There's that kid Costy!" The big one then wondered, "What kid?" The Skinny one then facepalmed himself. "That kid with that high bounty! You really forgot you, idiot?!" The Skinny one then slapped him. "Aboot, Momma said not to hit people, it's impolite." The Skinny Tall one then got angry. "I don't care what Momma says! If it means making your stupid ass smarter!" Costy then looked over at the kid. "Hey, look it's that kid from the paper." Aboot was then blown away by the utter stupidity. "Yeah…" He had no words for what he just heard. "Alright Costy, we are gonna capture that kid and bring the money to Momma, and maybe she will let us back in the house." It turns out that these two were sons of a big woman who told them to stop mooching off her and get real jobs, she then kicked them out of the house and told them not to come back without a lot of money. The two decided to become bounty hunters, but there was one problem, this was their first job... "Alright, but look at that guy over there, he has a gun." Aboot noticed the Deputy, he then thought of a plan. The two got up from their seats and went to the next cart, which had been where the staff of the train had been. "Can we help you two sirs?" The brothers had been in front of 2 workers in tuxedo suits, they proceeded to knock out the workers and stole their clothes, as well as locking them in a bathroom. The Deputy had been on guard, looking out for strange figures, the two brothers dressed as workers then approached the Deputy. "Hello sir, would you like anything?" The Deputy was a bit suspicious of the two, not believing they were true workers right away, but he decided to have some fun with them and play along. "Actually, yes." The Deputy then shook Gabe to wake up. "What's the big idea!?" The Deputy smiled. "These nice gentlemen are offering their services to us? Is there anything you want right now kid?" Gabe thought hard, he then thought of something. "How about you bring me a hot dog, a steak, a root beer, a chicken." Gabe listed lots of foods, which overwhelmed the brothers. "You heard the kid." The Deputy said with a smile. "Uhh, alright." Aboot said, The two brothers then walked to the worker's room and began to panic. "WE DON'T KNOW HOW TO COOK!" They both yelled in fear. "WE SHOULD START RIGHT AWAY BROTHER, JUST HAND ME ALL THAT STUFF AND IT WILL BE FINE!" They then got to work making the food, but as they said, they were terrible cooks. It took them the entire ride to finally make everything. "Here is your meal sirs." Aboot said with a devious smile. 'Yes, I will finally be able to get that high bounty! I just need to wait until they both eat all that food and fall asleep with the sleep potion I put inside. Then we could capture the kid and jump off the train! Genius!' They then walked into the customer cart with smiles, only to realize everyone was gone, and they had failed. "Where did they go Aboot?" Aboot then saw them outside the train, walking through the station. "THERE THEY ARE! LET'S GO GET EM!" They then rushed for the exit of the train, only for the horn to go off and the train began to move. Once they opened the door, they had been moving backward. "UM! ABOOT WHY ARE WE MOVING!?" Aboot got mad, he then thought they could just wait until they came back, then they could grab the kid. "Just sit down brother, we will just wait till we come back." They were about to sit down until the two workers they knocked out opened the door in anger, the brothers were in shock. "There they are! The ones who knocked us out!" The brothers then realized they were alone, and that they beat them up once and could do it again. "This will be a piece of cake brother." Costy then clenched his fists, "Conductor!" The two workers yelled the brothers wondered why they called the Conductor, only for a giant muscular man to come from the worker room, he had been shirtless, wearing black pants, a conductor's hat, and fancy shoes. "Who dares attack my workers?" He said with a dark voice. The brothers were frozen in fear from the terrifying size of the conductor. "Brother?" Costy asked. "Yeah Costy?" Costy then screamed. "WE'RE DEAD!" All that could be heard from the train moving were screams of terror. Needless to say, they got what was coming to them.
