Chapter 17 Downtown Gavin D.C

The group had begun their journey to Gavin DC, Gabe had been sitting on the roof of the stagecoach facing behind. He had been holding out his fingers like a gun, practicing his shooting, but kept missing his targets with the lightning bullets. "UGH! THIS PART IS SO HARD!" Mark smirked. "Well it's not a walk in the park, don't forget that." Gabe got down from the roof and went inside the stagecoach where everyone was sitting. "How long did it take Sam to master it?" Mark still couldn't believe that Gabe knew Sam's name, but he knew that it was a normal thing now. "5 Years." This shocked Gabe. "IF THE GUY WHO MADE IT TOOK 5 YEARS TO MASTER IT THEN HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO DO IT!?" Mark kept a serious expression. "Well let me tell you something to help you out, even though I've given you more than enough hints as a teacher." Gabe was confused, what more could Mark teach him at this point. "Sam didn't get it right away while creating the technique, so until he could fully do it, he improvised." Gabe didn't understand what he meant. "What do you mean to improvise?" Mark explained. "When he couldn't send it out of his finger, he created another technique called God's finger technique." Gabe was intrigued. "Basically, whenever he shot it out of his finger, the bullet always dropped the ground. Instead, God's finger allowed him to simply poke the target after getting the lightning, which the bullet would then enter the body of his target and jolt them with electricity on the inside, and ultimately incapacitate them." Gabe thought that was awesome. "To put it to simple terms, you should use what I've taught you so far to make a technique that you invented and could use until you master the Lightning Shard." Gabe thought about it a bit, his own technique? That sounds hard, but he realized that becoming the greatest bounty hunter of all time, you are bound to come across challenges in your life. Gabe also took Sam's own words into account. '"Have you ever wondered how every master learned a move? It was because someone created one, and learned by themselves."' Gabe then looked at Mark with absolute confidence in his eyes. "I'll do it, master! I'll make my own move that is unique to me!" Mark smiled. "Great kid, now go ahead and do it." Gabe smiled and jumped back on the roof, with lightning noises that could be heard from below. Meanwhile, Mark sat in the carriage and looked at David sleeping, along with Leroy who was still incapacitated from the ice in his chest which had fully melted at the point, leaving an empty hole in his chest.. 'He's not looking too good. Hopefully, we make it there soon.' Meanwhile, David had actually been fake sleeping and thinking to himself. 'Soon the plan will be in effect, and the West will become a place of happiness.'

After 3 Days of Traveling to Gavin DC

The Stagecoach was stopped by the driver. "We're here." He said, sounding relieved as ever. Gabe then turned around as he was sitting on the roof of the stagecoach, he had also looked relieved that they arrived. "THANK GOD! WE'RE HERE!" Mark got out for a second and saw it. "Gavid DC, you'll never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy." Gabe was confused. "What's that supposed to mean?" Mark sighed. "It means this is a bad place to be if you are a world-class bounty hunter, I heard that quote from somewhere I just don't remember where."

The driver began to drive into town, the first thing they came across was a sign that said. Gavin D.C, was founded in 1627. Once they got into the city, there were big buildings, many stagecoaches in the streets, many stands for food and etc, and also there were officers everywhere. A typical government officer's attire was similar to a civil war uniform. A black dress shirt, black boots, silver buttons on the shirt, black pants, a black belt with a sword in sheath, a black cowboy hat with the government logo. The logo had been a golden lion, symbolizing the top of power, and something unrivaled. Mark stayed hidden in a black cloak and hood that he bought from another town on the way, he also stayed inside the stagecoach with Leroy still unconscious but looking much better. As it turns out, the town they stopped at also had a doctor, to which the Doctor helped Leroy with medicine and bandages for his wound. The doctor said that Leroy should be fine if he keeps resting for the next few days, not doing any fighting, which he was doing right now. David had looked nervous about being in Gavin D.C, all he thought about however was. 'I just need the plan to keep flowing the way Billy said it should, if we do this then we win.' Gabe meanwhile was on the roof, looking everywhere around him, extremely excited about seeing Gavin D.C for the first time. "Master? Could we go out and buy stuff after David does his thing?" Mark sighed. "We go to towns all the time Gabe, what makes this place any different?" Gabe answered. "BECAUSE LOOK AT THIS PLACE! THERE ARE SO MANY STORES AND STANDS!" Mark hated Gavin D.C, where he was a target for the government. "Actually, I need you guys for when I go inside Gavin Hall." Everyone was surprised. "What do you mean you need us? Can't you do it yourself?" David explained. "Look at it like this, one of Billy the Kid's most trusted partners is walking into where the president of the west currently is to warn him of an event that they didn't get notified about, other than one of the west's most dangerous men's most trusted partners." Gabe and Mark got the picture, it did seem a bit suspicious. "So why do you need us?" David answered. "I need a witness to prove I am not lying." Mark didn't exactly think he was a reliable witness, but he thought Gabe might be one since he isn't a known bounty hunter yet. "Alright, we'll do it," Mark said.

Eventually, they made it to Gavin Hall. Gabe was amazed at how different it looked from other buildings in Gavin D.C. Gavin Hall had a large fence around it, a grass turf inside the fence that surrounded the building, it looked sort of like the state capital but smaller scaled, it was completely white and stone, and at the front of the building there had been many steps to the actual building. Gabe was excited to go in immediately. Once the Stagecoach got to the gate, there had been a booth next to the gate doors with an officer inside. The officer had a black handlebar mustache, black slicked-back hair, black eyebrows, and the same hat that had the lion symbol. "Hello there, welcome to Gavin Hall, could I help you?" The Driver began to try and explain. "Hello, My boss is here to inform Grand Leader Swan of something extremely important." The officer looked as if he didn't believe them. "Sir, we are not here for your games, we are the government and if you speak of such nonsense so lightly, then you will be arrested for disorderly conduc-" Before he could finish his sentence, Mark cut him off. "Look at the back of our carriage, there are bullet holes if you don't believe us." The Officer went out of the booth when he saw the bullet holes in the Stagecoach. "There used to be another kind of glass but there was this girl who attacked us with Ice Witchcraft and broke it, so we had to get it replaced," Gabe said as the Officer noticed the glass looked out of place and not made for this type of vehicle. "Very well then, I will let you in, but do not have the power to help you in any other way from here forth." He then blew a whistle and two other officers came from behind the gate, unlocked it, and opened the gate, only for the stagecoach to be driven inside.

The driver stayed in front of Gavin Hall with the stagecoach as David, Gabe, and Mark all walked out. "We'll be back driver, don't worry." The diver was starting to get irritated from David not knowing his name. "UGH! LEARN MY NAME!" The Driver yelled. "I'm sorry, what is it?" David asked, shocking the driver. 'That's all I had to say this whole time?' The driver sighed. "Whatever, I'll tell you later since it's not important. Just go." David nodded. "Oh and watch Leroy for us," Gabe said as the group began to walk up the steps, leaving the driver and Leroy alone. Inside the carriage, Leroy looked to be sleeping when all of sudden, his eyes opened. The group walked up many stairs until they finally reached the top. "Ugh...I'm so tired….why are there so many stairs." Mark and David sighed. "Get over yourself, we haven't even done the hard part yet," Mark said as they looked upon the 2 twin doors. He stood silent for a second, just pondering what would happen if he opened those doors. 'Here we go.' He then pushed the doors open.

The group walked through the twin doors and into what looked to be a lobby with many officers walking around and doing their own kind of work. Gabe was shocked to see so many officers at once, he then realized that if they found out he was a bounty hunter then he was done for. "Listen, kid." Mark whispered to Gabe. "We're here to get in and get out with the cash, nothing more and nothing less." Gabe nodded looking nervous. They eventually made it to the front desk with another officer doing what looked to be paperwork on a typewriter. He had black glasses on, a small beard, and black slicked-back hair. "Hello, may I help you?" The officer asked. "Yes, I am here to give a message to Grand Leader Swan." The man at the desk looked shocked. "Are you preposterous!? Grand Leader Swan answers to nobody but the royal advisors, what business could you possibly have with him?" David decided that he should explain since he knew that they wouldn't let him go any further if he didn't. "It's a country matter. If we don't, then the country will be taken over by a maniac." The man at the desk looked once again shocked. "What proof do you have of this?" David pointed to himself. "I was an advisor of Billy the Kid and caught wind of his plan, exactly so I could come here and personally inform you." This shocked the man at the desk the most. "I realize that by doing this I am also risking being arrested, but before you make any calls, I have witnessed with me to vogue for me." He pointed at Maks in the cloak, but also to Gabe. "A child? And a man in a cloak?" Gabe got angry after being called a child. "HEY! WHO ARE YOU CALLING A CHILD!?" The man behind the desk then calmed down once he heard the child was a witness. "Well, you are a child, correct?" Gabe looked angry, but Mark put his arm in front of him, implying to be silent. "I'm also a witness, but I'd rather remain anonymous." The man behind the desk was surprised. "Alright then, I doubt that Grand Leader Swan would allow you to see him personally, but I will see what I can do." He then got up from his desk and got out of his booth, from there he walked in the door behind his desk. The group waited in the lobby. "I'm afraid they won't care what we have to say and will arrest us." Mark thought the same thing and noticed Gabe also looked nervous. "Hey, Gabe?" Mark asked. "What? What is it?" Gabe looked paranoid. "I want to let you know that it's alright to be afraid." Gabe was confused. "Sam was always afraid whenever he did the things that he did, he always knew that being a bounty hunter meant that he would put his life on the line. Always thinking in the back of his head that every job he takes, he may not come back from." This shocked Gabe. "He always told me that fear is the best weapon anyone could ever use, the more you use it, the stronger you get and the more confidence you have in yourself." Gabe started to feel a bit better after hearing that. "So don't worry about me, just know that whatever happens you're gonna be fine. You don't have a criminal record, so that means that they won't do anything to you." Gabe felt reassured. "But what about you?" Mark didn't answer. "Then I'll think of a way out of it, I'm the Red Terror after all." Gabe nodded. Just then, the man behind the desk came back. "Surprisingly, Grand Leader Swan has agreed to give you a chance to explain yourself." This made them extremely happy, but also nervous.

The group followed the man behind the desk as he led them through the door. From there, they entered a giant hallway that looked like the state capital's interior. Gabe was amazed at how big this place was, it felt a bit overwhelming. Eventually, they made it to 2 giant twin doors with officers next to each. "Everyone ready yourselves as you are about to meet Grand Leader Swan." Gabe brushed off any dust he had on his clothes, Mark didn't do anything, and David also didn't but just stood there shaking and sweating. 'Here we go.' They all said as the officers opened the doors. Inside was a giant throne room with 3 flags on each side of the walls, the flags were red with yellow lions in the middle, a giant red carpet had been below their feet and it led up to the throne, along with glass panels behind the actual throne that looked to tell a story, and finally, there was a throne with a man sitting on it. The man on the throne looked to be about average size(5.9-5.10), he had blonde short hair, a blonde beard, he was extremely slender, he wore the same coat as the officers except his had been red with golden buttons and epaulets, he had white pants and black boots, he also wore a red cape that he was sitting on, and he looked to have blue eyes and an emotionless face. "Sire." The man said as he bowed and gestured the three of them to bow as well. "I am very pleased to be in your presence, and I'd imagine the same for these people as wel-" Before the man could finish his sentence, Grand Leader Swan interrupted as if he didn't care if the man was speaking. "Do not speak for them, let them speak for themselves." This terrified the man. "Now, leave us and do not make that mistake again." The man then bowed while sweating and shaking. "Sorry, Sire! It will never happen again!" He then walked out of the throne room while shaking and sweating. 'Is he really that terrifying?' Gabe was thinking. "So, what have you brought upon me? And why should I care?" Everyone had looked to be too afraid to speak, including Mark, which shocked Gabe since Mark was perceived to be not afraid of anything. "Who was the one who brought upon this meeting request?" Swan asked. David then stepped forward while sweating and shaking. "Ah, it is you." David looked up at Swan in terror. "Now speak." David then began to grow the confidence to do it. "Sire, I have brought to you a warning...from the former advisor of Billy the Kid…" Swan looked to be completely unfazed by this as if he didn't care. "Where is this former advisor?" David reluctantly answered. "That would be me...sire…" Swan once again looked unfazed. "Give me one reason why I should not arrest and execute you where you stand?" David looked as nervous as ever. "Because….because...I bring you a warning!" He had grown the confidence to shout at Swan, but Swan still looked unfazed by this and his emotionless expression didn't change. "What is this warning then? And how will it affect me?" David spoke. "I joined Billy the Kid's Sindikat to gain intel on him because I hate the things he did to the people of the west-" Swan cut off David. "I don't care about why you are doing it, I care about what it is you are trying to tell me." David then decided to get to the point. "Anyways...I was recently attending a meeting for him, and I have reason to believe that Billy the Kid is planning on starting a war between the Sindikat and the Government." Swan sat there, staring at David in silence with that emotionless look. "Why should I believe you?" Mark and Gabe knew this might happen. "You not only came here without a plan to convince me, but you also came in as criminals with a bounty hunter fugitive as a witness." Mark was shocked. 'HOW THE HELL DID HE KNOW IT WAS ME!?' Immediately, the room was flooded by officers who held out rifles around them, surrounding them completely. Gabe then decided he's had enough. "I'm not a criminal! Why don't you take my word for it!?" Swan once again looked unfazed and answered. "Because you are a worthless brat who screams and cries whenever he doesn't get his way. Someone who most likely has an overactive imagination, and someone who is most likely lying." This made Gabe shut up and put him in his place, making him fear Swan more than ever. "First you will be tried for your crimes, Red Terror, then you will either live in a jail cell for the rest of your life or be hung in a public execution like the Reaper once was for killing my father." Gabe was confused. 'Reaper?' Mark took off his cloak and looked to be in battle formation. 'DAMN IT! HOW DO I GET OUT OF THIS!?' Just then, the door slammed open, which grabbed the attention of Gabe, David, Mark, the Guards, and even Swan. "He's telling the truth, I can vouch for him." Gabe looked happy and surprised. 'It's Leroy!'

"Who is this boy? And how did he get in?" It was revealed that Leroy had woken up with his wounds healed, he then proceeded to walk in and tell the man at the front desk that he was with David, Mark, and Gabe. "My Name is Leroy Suden." That name was the thing that did it, that convinced Swan. "A Suden huh? Then if that is true, you are telling the truth." Swan said, which made them happy. "But the Red Terror still must be executed for his crimes." David and Gabe tried to think of ways to get out of this, until. "He's one of the witnesses who were with me, and he also helped defend the advisor from Billy the Kid's forces from trying to kill us." Swan looked as if he'd been thinking. "Also, if you don't believe me. Check the Stagecoach outside, it still has holes from the woman who chased us and threw shrapnel ice shards at us. In fact." Leroy unbuttoned his shirt to reveal his bandages. "She threw one of her ice shards at me in the stomach, you could have your doctors examine me." The guards looked confused, but Swan's expression didn't change, it still looked the same. The group hoped Swan would believe it and begged to themselves. "Fine, I believe you." The group let out a breath in relief. "Suden, I must ask you some questions before we proceed with a plan, is that alright?" Leroy nodded.

The group had been inside what looked to be a suite of a hotel, extremely fancy and decorative. The floor was a top-notch tial that shined like a diamond, there had been lion flags, 4 beds, a balcony, and a bathroom. "It was nice of Grand Leader Swan to give us this fancy room, Gabe thought as he took off his clothes to be washed. "It was also nice of him to erase my crimes for this task," Mark said. "I do feel sorry for Leroy though, he just woke up and already he has to deal with stuff like this." David and Leroy had been explaining everything they heard in the meeting to a group of men at a round table. This had been a war table for generals, which all wore the same attire. Black coat with gold buttons and epaulets, black pants, black boots, many metals on all of them, and the same cowboy hat that had the lion logo on it. "So, with this information do you think you could plan an attack?" The general's all looked amongst themselves, one of them spoke. "It will definitely take some planning, but I believe it is doable." David and Leroy smiled after hearing this. "Good to hear," David said. "It may take all day and afternoon, but I believe we will have everything and start marching at dawn. Leroy and David nodded. "Thank you for your time." they both bowed and the generals all smiled. "It was because of you two that we now have this information, so we should be thanking you." The two then went back to the room, only to see Mark and Gabe wearing fancy dress clothes. "The Grand Leader invited us for dinner, we are going to go and eat." Leroy smiled. "Alright then, I'll join you." David looked nervous. "If you don't mind I'm a bit sleepy after everything that just happened." Gabe and Leroy looked concerned. "Yeah, you've been through a lot. I think you are well deserving of it since you're gonna stay here under the king's protection. So you should enjoy the good life." David smiled. "Thanks, guys." The group then left the room for dinner after Leroy dressed up. Once they had left, David put on a malicious smile. He then proceeded to write a letter on a desk in the room.

Dear Billy,

It's all going according to plan as you said, everything is in place for tonight. I am going to bring you and the advisors here to finish the job. I will give you from here to 12 to gather everyone. I cannot wait to see the world we will create together and hope you all the best.

See you tonight, Teleport.

David began to smile maliciously. 'It's all going according to plan, having bounty hunters go after me, convince them to be with me for the meeting as a spy, hearing a fake meeting, getting attacked by Casity, and being my witness for Grand Leader Swan.' David kept smiling. 'All I have to do is keep this up till tonight.'

After Dinner at 11:58 PM

The group had been asleep in their beds, even Leroy. David then got out of bed and put his clothes on, he then proceeded to leave his room and headed downstairs. Little did he know, Leroy wasn't really asleep. "Wake up guys." He shook Gabe. "HEY! WHAT'S THE BIG IDEA!" Leroy slammed Gabe on the head. "Shut up, we can't let David know we're awake." Gabe was confused. "What do you mean? David's trustworthy, right?" Leroy nodded. "I'll explain everything once we wake up Master." It turns out Leroy had been listening to David's laughing, though he didn't hear anything, he did grow suspicious. Then, Once David went to the bathroom before he sent the letter, Leroy glanced at it and since he had a photographic memory, he was able to remember every single word and read it, figuring out everything. Meanwhile, David had been sneaking around downstairs, until he eventually made it into the throne room. Mark had woken up off-screen. "DAVID'S ONE OF THEM!?" This angered Mark so much. "We need to stop him," Gabe suggested. "No, we need to get out of here before anything else, we don't know what he means by bringing them here, and it could mean danger." Leroy nodded, but Gabe didn't understand anything going on. Meanwhile, David was in the middle of the throne room, he held out his palms and closed his eyes, only for Billy the Kid to appear next to him, but his face was still concealed by the shadows, along with Casity, the Skinny guy, the Badge guy, and Brava. "Good, we're all here," Billy said, as David smiled. "You did well David." Casity was confused. "Why didn't you tell me he was a spy?" Billy explained. "I'm sorry if it seems as if I was lying to you. Do keep in mind that you are young, so I had to do this so that you wouldn't mess up the plan." Casity understood and nodded. "Alright then, let's start the pl-" 2 officers holding rifles aimed at Billy in the dark. "HOLD IT RIGHT THERE!" Billy kept that smile up with those red glowing eyes. "BILLY THE KID YOU ARE UNDER ARREST!" Billy kept smiling toward them. "You dare arrest me? A savior?" The Officers shook in terror. Meanwhile, Gabe, Mark, and Leroy had all been putting on their day clothes. "WE HAVE TO HURRY BEFORE SOMETHING HAPPENS!" Mark screamed. Leroy and Gabe were both rushing, looking as afraid as ever. The Officer's stood their ground with their rifles. "PUT YOUR HANDS ABOVE YOUR HEAD!" None of them did as told. "VERY WELL THEN!" The officer pulled back the trigger and fired. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING CHARLIE!? WE WANT THEM ALIVE!" They had thought they killed Billy, a big mistake. "Oh, I'm not dead, gentleman." One of the men then looked shocked and scared as the moon began to shine through the glass to reveal the bullet had been right in front of Billy's palm, it also began to shine toward Billy's entire body and was about to reveal it. "But you are." All of a sudden an explosion had occurred and completely blew up Gavin Hall, scaring the public from the outside of the gate.
