I Am Not Giving Up

"Please go on ahead and talk to her, she needs it the most at this moment," Haru said as he pointed at the door and the three elves nodded. Alea who had lost her ability as a mage is sure to be devastated by it, even if she hides it this is only normal.

"Alea was such a bright kid, I don't know why something like this happened to her," Merial spoke while facing the ground, it was really heart-breaking to see a talented person who had a purpose fall into the ground like this.

Alduin patted his wife's shoulder trying to console her.

"Alright let's go in and talk with Alea, Haru can I talk to you after this? I want to discuss about the one who did this to Alea," Virion spoke while looking at Haru.

"That guy is dead, And if it is about the information, I will give you the information in written from that guy before you leave," Haru said with a plain look, and Virion nodded.

"Thanks," Virion said as the elves went inside the room.

"Aren't you going in?" Haru spoke while looking near the door.

"I'll meet her later when everyone is gone, And I am sorry for intruding," A sweet and seductive voice rang out in the corridor.

"Hmm, We may have overlooked it this time but don't do it again…." Haru paused for a bit and his eyes turned towards the window.

"....You'll die," Haru said plainly and walked away with steady steps.

After Haru went away a figure appeared near the window wearing a white military uniform with a red sash across her chest, It was a black-haired elf fully drenched in sweat looking in the direction Haru went.

'They all noticed me on my way here, This is certainly new,' Aya the second elven Lance also named 'Phantom' was noticed by six people when she came in and she was certain from the way Haru said. The next time she tries to enter this house like this she'll really die.

'This is really a den of monsters,' Aya thought as she wiped her sweat and waited for everyone inside the room to finish their talk with Alea.

Inside the room,

Merial, Jin-ah, Zenobia, and Randel were talking to Alea who was telling them that she was alright as Alduin, Virion, Queresha, and Tessia stood back looking at the scene.

"Sis Queresha will Lance Alea never be able to use Magic again," Tessia asked Queresha in a hushed tone.

Virion and Alduin looked over since he heard Tessia.

"According to the Magic system here, Yes her Mana core is fully shattered and there is no way for her to continue using Mana, if it wasn't for My Lord there was no way she wouldn't have survived," Queresha said plainly, Virion frowned as he thought about Queresha's wording.

'Magic system here? Are there more types out there?' Virion was deep in thought while Alduin was a bit frustrated that the elves have lost one of the Lances which is their core fighting force. But it is not like he can say that to Alea's face since he himself felt really bad looking at the once-promising mage who wanted to save people to end up like this.

"Oh, there is one more thing, Zenobia take this back," Alea said while picking up her sword and pushing it towards Zenobia.

"Alea there is no need for this, It is yours," Zenobia spoke with a hesitant expression as she looked at Alea who was holding out a sword to her. It was the sword she had made for Alea.

"Zenobia the way I am now, There is no way I can hold this sword so please take it back," Alea said with sadness in her eyes, it was a weapon she has been using for a while and she was very attached to it but the way she was now the sword in her hand was nothing more than scarp.

Zenobia looked at Alea who was one of her only friends with some reluctance, she knew what Alea wanted to say and she admired her for her strong will, even after going through such a tragedy she was able to make a choice like this.

Zenobia had always held Alea in high regard in terms of her mental strength since they were quite similar and different in a sense, both of them have lost their families and had a little brother.

But even after losing her family and little brother Alea didn't become cold like Zenobia but rather she became Brighter and stronger to save other people so that others don't go through what she experienced. She wanted to save people so that they can return to their families with a smile.

Zenobia could never see herself doing the same, if she lost Randel who was the last anchor for her in this world things might go a lot more different than they are now, She nearly lost Randel during the Elshire incident, the anger and coldness she felt at that time something she didn't want to remember again.

"Don't make that face, I am just giving it to you for safe keeping I'll take it back one day when I become strong enough to use this sword again," Alea said with a grin and Zenobia sighed heavily before taking the sword. She knew what Alea had said wasn't possible but.....

"It is a promise then, If you give up I won't forgive you," Zenobia said with a small smile. She chose to take her words seriously and decided to wait for the days he takes the sword back.

"Oh, I better work hard then," Alea said with a laugh, lighting up the heavy air in the room. The elven royal family had no say in this since the Sword was made by Zenobia and the owner of the Sword gave it back to her.

They can insist on taking the sword on the pretext of giving it to the next lance but they knew better than that.

"You are really strong Alea," Jin-ah said while nodding.

"I am happy that you think that way Alea, I will look forward to it," Merial spoke with a smile, Even if she felt saddened she didn't let it show on her face.

"And there is one more thing I want to say to you Jin-ah, Zenobia, and Queresha," Alea spoke and the three looked at her.

"I still haven't given up on him, so you better look out for me," Alea spoke with a wide grin as she pointed at them.

Everyone in the room understood what the meaning behind her words was, Randel just clicked his tongue as Tessia blushed at Alea's boldness.

Virion just smiled like a fawning grandfather with Adluin staying silent since he wasn't really interested in this.

"Oh my!" Merial gasped with a blush at Alea.

"Waku Waku," Jin-ah gave an unusual response like who would be excited at the current situation.

"W-What are you talking about?" Zenobia looked away shyly.

"I don't have a problem with what you just said, But keep one thing in mind…." Queresha spoke with a serious look making everyone gulped.

"...If you aren't up to the bar I'll kick you out myself" Queresha spoke indicating that the wives also had a say if someone was going to enter the family or not.

'I am not giving up since I got a second chance, I won't give up no matter what,' Alea thought with a smile.

"I'll show you then," Alea said and Queresha gave a little nod.

'I think she is a suitable subordinate at the moment, we will only know later if she can be in My Lord's bed or not,' Queresha thought simply.

She was certainly impressed at how Alea had handled the situation but she also knew that Haru held a part in this as well. So Alea was put on the 'Potential Candidates List' at the moment.

***

After meeting with Alea everyone went their way after having lunch at Haru's house and the night came.

After having dinner with everyone Haru took Hae-in, Jin-ah, and Kanae to the Relictombs leaving Queresha and Zenobia at home since they were researching the runes they found in the Relictombs.

Hae-in and Jin-ah went inside the Relictombs leaving Haru behind with Kanae.

"You're not going inside?" Haru asked but Kanae just folded her arms and looked at him.

"I just wanted to talk with you a little," Kanae said and Haru nodded.

"What are your thoughts about what happened to Alea," Kanae asked while walking near Haru.

"I think it is quite tragic," Haru said.

"Hmm, is it because you couldn't help her faster even when you knew something can happen to her?" Kanae asked and Haru was a little surprised.
