CONFUSED

"Roger! Don't scare us like that, you're a ghost or something!" Fiona shouted.

Eric locked his gaze on the huge man revealing his cracked teeth. He recognized him from his time working at the Sailors.

"Well, I don't recall telling you to bring a fellow while coming," Roger frowned.

"Let's talk over there," he said, pointing to a bench far away. He took a step back and relaxed his breath on his next word "alone."

"What a sudden change in expression, look, I have bumps on my arms," Eric said as he showed her his left arm.

"Hey, why don't you wait in the car, I'll be back in a minute," Fiona said as she began to follow Roger.

"You're kidding, right?" Eric said as he held her hand. I can't let you go now when I've only recently found you."

Fiona laughed "I would have been dead for a long time, so consider this my lucky moment as well. Don't worry, everything will be fine." She assured him.

As she approached Roger, her smile faded into a frown. Still doubting Roger's intentions for her, she carried the pistol, he left when he visited, in her small bag.

"Are you with it?" As they sat, Roger questioned.

"With what?" She quickly responded with a question.

"My gun; you didn't think I'd leave it on the table by mistake, did you?" Roger asked while facing the statue in front of them.

"Why would you trust me with a gun?" Fiona locked her gaze on him, trying to read his mind, but his face was expressionless, with no sign of emotion.

"Are you serious? That gun isn't even loaded," he said as he turned to face her.

"Is it there?" His gaze shifted to her bag, his upper lip slightly raised.

"Stop smiling like that, it's irritating," Fiona grumbled.

"Well, you are now blunt with your words, I guess dating Samson wasn't a waste after all," Roger laughed.

Fiona clenched her fist as he mentioned Samson.

"Don't mention his name to me," she said as she closed her eyes.

"The damage has already been done; let it go or take revenge," he said solemnly.

"What exactly do you mean?" Fiona's unnerving expression stood out.

"Let's go after Samson together,"

"How do you know he's connected, I'm not sure how," she asked, looking at him.

"First and foremost, heal up; I guarantee your safety..."

"Until you carry out your plans?" Fiona cut him off. She needed to make it clear to him that all she wants is her freedom and the ability to live a normal life.

"I just want to be free from that life," she said, turning to face the statue.

"It wasn't your choice, to begin with, there was no turning point from the moment you entered that warehouse, Death or continue!" He yelled, then exhaled deeply.

"But I can give you both things you're looking for, revenge and freedom, I know you want revenge," he added.

Fiona sighed, he wasn't wrong when he said she wanted revenge as well as freedom, but she didn't want it now, she wanted it later.

"I have to go back, I am coming back in a week, then we plan things," Roger said as his phone rang. He began to walk away.

Fiona stared at him as he walked away, biting her lips and standing up with an angry expression.

"And Samson is missing you!" Roger yelled from his spot.

She scoffed and went outside to meet Eric.

Meanwhile, Eric was pacing around his car, perplexed as to what had happened to her.

"Will she be okay?" He rubbed the back of his neck, wondering aloud.

He decided to go meet them, and as he approached the gate, he noticed her coming out.

"Phew, My God, that took so long," he exclaimed as he ran to her.

"Let's go home," she said, taking his arms in hers.

"Are you weak?" He examined her, his hands cupped around her already pale face.

"I'm fine," she said, a nervous smile on her face. She stumbled and fainted on the ground as Eric examined her face

"Fiona, wake up! Are you listening? Get up," Eric knelt, tapping her on the shoulder and looking at her with concern.

When he noticed that no one was with them, he quickly carried her to his truck.

He tried to start the car, but it wouldn't start.

"What's the deal with this damn truck?" He hit the steering and got out of the car to inspect it.

He gave up after several attempts to start the car. He hailed a cab while carrying Fiona.

As Samuel entered the house, he noticed that there was no sign of Fiona or Eric. Where did they go to? He wondered. He took his phone from his bag and dialed his grandmother's number.

"Are they with you?" As the phone call connected, he inquired.

"No, why? They aren't at home; perhaps they went outside to get some fresh air. Hold on, I'm getting a call from Eric" Grandma hung up the phone.

"Fresh air? She just met him, and now they're going out?" Samuel tutted

"But what is it to me?" he asked, then paused, puzzled.

He dialed Alan's number quickly.

"Hey man, let's go check out your basketball court," he suggested. He needed to do something to distract himself.

While he was still speaking, another call came in; it was Grandma.

"What?" He inquired, putting Alan's call on hold.

"Fiona collapsed; Eric is taking her to the hospital!" Grandma sobbed over the phone.

"What did you say? What did Eric exactly do to her?" As he spoke, his face was contorted with rage.

"I don't know, just go to the hospital; I'm going there as well,".

Samuel's eyes hardened and his lips tightened as he slammed his bag on the floor and exited the house.

______

Fiona opened her eyes and gasped for air. She looked down at her arm, which was attached to a drip bag.

Her nose itched, so she rubbed it. "I hate this hospital smell," she grumbled as she sat up.

As soon as she heard the door open, her gaze was drawn to it.

"Ah, thank God you're awake," Eric exclaimed with relief.

"I'll call Dr. Kim," he said as he goes out of the room.

"Wait," she said, stopping him.

"What? Is there anything bothering you?" He asked turning back.

"Come," Fiona motioned with her hand.

He sat next to her, giving her a curious look.

"Did you tell them that I am here?" She asked, silently hoping he didn't.

Eric let out a sigh. "Yes," he said quickly, then noticing her frown, he explained,

"I'm sorry, I didn't know what was wrong with you, so I called Grandma,".

"You're a pain in the ass "Fiona scolded him.

"What exactly did I do? "You should be glad I was there,"

"Keep quiet, tell them we went out to get something, and then I fainted," She told him.

"And, my truck broke down, so we took a cab here," he added.

The door opened as they were talking, and it was Dr. Kim.

"Well, well, someone forgot to take her drugs, so she's there," she smiled.

Fiona sighed, admitting that she hadn't been taking her drugs.

"I'm guessing you remember me; you're supposed to meet me in 6 days, but I'm guessing you miss me that much," She jokingly added, then turned to Eric, "She was introduced to you right away?".

"Well, we were getting to know each other before this happened," Eric explained as the door swung open wide.

Their attention was drawn to the door, as Samuel was approaching Eric with rage in his eyes.

"What exactly did you do to her?" He inquired, forcefully clutching Eric's sleeve.
