Inevitable Attraction

Jason came out of the restaurant and looked around, trying to spot Alice, until finally his eyes fell on her on the opposite side of the road. 


“Hey,” shouted Jason while waving, trying to get her attention, but to no avail. The sidewalks were still rather busy and cars were speeding down the road. 


Jason stepped into the road and dashed towards Alice, still waving at her, calling her name, until finally she saw him and looked in his direction. Jason noticed that Alice was now looking at him, and it distracted him completely as he made his way over the busy road, not even worrying to look out for oncoming cars. 


Jason managed to get to the opposite side of the road, avoiding any injury but did manage to get called out by several people who had to slow down and swerve their vehicles in order to avoid knocking him. Alice looked at Jason a little confused about what she had just seen, trying to think why he would run across the road, risking his life.
