Oliver could not believe what he was hearing. He wanted to think that Ophelia was lying, but why would she? It would explain a lot. Oliver wanted to think longer on it but realized that staying would put Alice in more danger.
Oliver looked around the room and tried plotting an escape route while also checking to see if they were surrounded or not because if so, it would be very difficult to escape with Alice and Sammy.
“Oliver,” said Ophelia while trying to get the group's attention. “I can see what you're trying to do. I'm not holding you here against your will. You may leave whenever you so choose. I am not ready to take Alice from you yet, that is why she is still alive. But believe me when I tell you Oliver, when I am ready, there will be nothing you can do to stop me. You will have no one to turn to and you will only know despair.”
“I'll find a way to stop you, Ophelia,” replied Oliver as he took Alice by the hand and walked her and Sammy to the elevator.
