With all the pungent smell and confusion my heart was crushing and I was about to lose myself. Suddenly, she stopped convulsing and my heart cooled down.
"What the hell is this, Sam?. No atom of change on her body!" I exclaimed in awe.
As soon as we reached home, Sam carried her to one of the guess rooms as I ordered and I followed them. She was still deeply asleep. I couldn't help but stare at her for hours and all I felt was pain and pity, she looked so young and innocent. Weirdly, I felt attracted to her.
Just when Sam, laid her in bed, Dresden appeared in the room emerging from a magical portal surely generated by him. Sincerely it was the least of my worries.
Dresden is a student of medicine in one of the greatest Medical school, owned by magicians far away from human settlement and unfortunately for me, he's also my best friend.
"Why the hell are you interrupting my peace, Mickey?. You know, I hate that. I was busy learning a very, very, very important spell that could change my life, then boom!… the sudden phone call" He slowly walked in uttering with his slightly feminine manners.
He was always dramatic. I don't even know how we became friends. He's my complete opposite.
"And you know how I hate when you call me like that. Mickey, has nothing related to Mark, for crying out loud!" I frowned but did he care?.
"Yea, hahaha...!!" He effortlessly chuckled and stopped immediately. "I have a lot to do so let's be brief!" He ruled with a chill.
I waved and Sam moved out of the room. We moved closer to the bed on which she was comfortably laying.
"Okay, this has nothing to do with me. I just thought it necessary to make this clear. I found this young girl in the park bitten by a wolf or a vampire... I have no idea. She was fine this morning then she suddenly collapsed." I counted all that I knew.
"Fuck! Mark! —- she stinks." he covered his nose and moved back.
"What you're trying to tell me is that you picked a victim of a wolf or vampire of an unknown clan?. Mark it's not acceptable and you know that. What if she mutates and the wolf or vampire decide to come in a search of her?" He scolded me with ethical lessons.
"Does it matter?. An innocent life is at stake and all you bother about are stupid ethics?. She's not even a wolf or vampire. Not for now anyway!. And it could be a member of our clan who bite her, you can never tell." I pouted.
"It's all the same if she turns out to be what you think then she's a bomb, all the clans would want her… are you ready to carry this wait on your shoulders?" He panicked. He was such a coward.
"So what's your point? Or what did you expect me to do? To leave her there agonising till the wolf who bite her decides to show up?" I yelled.
"Yes, it would have been better!. That's the doctrine and you know it!. If she transforms and the bond is made the wolf who bite her will come in search of her and I don't want to be involved in such…" he kept on crying and crying and it sucked.
"Don't be ridiculous I know all of that. Just examine her, determine if it's a vampire or wolf who did this atrocity. That's why I called you here. Also, I trust you, no one has to know about her, no matter what she turns out to be or not. I don't want this innocent soul to be in the middle of all this havoc, worst if it involves clans!" I warned
"I'm speechless, — I don't know what to say. Why are you doing all this Mark, you don't even know this girl. Or is there something I don't know…" He walked towards her.
"I've told you all that you need to know. How is she? Can you see something?" I asked anxiously.
"I don't have magical eyes, Mark. I will take some of her blood to examine it." He put on gloves then he opened her eyes lid pointing a touche in her eyes.
"Everything seems to be normal. Except that her eyes, her pupil has disappeared!. Weird!." he casted a little spell "OMG, her wounds seems to be healing faster than normal but no sign of any transformation…." He was excited like a scientist who has made a discovery and all his fears had suddenly vanished.
He started speaking "She is in a state of trance perhaps her transformation will take more time than usual. Wow, her body anti genes are fighting the vector as a parasite. This is spectacular"
"Hey, hey" I hit his shoulder "This remains between us!" I pursued him because of the enthusiastic look on his.
"Sure!. I will extract some of her blood to extract the assorted vector then from there I will extract the DNA of the vector to know which species did this to her…" he eagerly explained.
"Eh, men, keep all the Biologie to yourself all I need are results." I pouted.
"See you later, then!" he seriously nodded with that he anxiously left and I was damn worried that he might speak. I prayed.
I wish there was something I do to help, unfortunately, I knew nothing. The only thing I could do was to wait on her to wake up and Dresden to come up with something.
I prayed for her to wake up as soon as possible, I needed to hear her version of the story to have more clues about what happened to her, hopefully, I would be of help.
I moved to my room, I pour out a glass of whiskey and I seat on my bed. I phone my secretary telling her to annulate all my meeting of the day. She tried to persuade me but I insist. She can be very stubborn at times.
I undressed, got ready for a bath.
~ ~ ~ ~
I wake up in an unknown room this time. At least it's not a nasty cage like earlier and it's more appealing. I stepped down of the bed staring around. The room was all in white and the bed was dressed with white sheets which my dirty body had stained.
I thought about moving to the door, before I could complete my thinking I was already by the door in a flash. This kind of flash that we only watch in fantasy movies and this freaked me out.
Yet, I didn't believe it because my brain has been poking fun at me since last night and since then I can't distinguish between what is real or not. Like this room, I don't even know if this room is real or not. I don't even know in which dimensions of the world I am.
I tried to opened the door and it opened. Ouff! I puff in relief because I wasn't in a luxurious cage as I thought. I felt so fine. I looked at myself and it's seemed like I had no pain before. I was stunned by my quick recovery.
Perhaps I was in a very long dream in which I was attacked by Mr Boris and all of that had never happened in real life. I told myself but my nasty look said something else. OMG, it wasn't a dream.
Or maybe I've been sleeping for weeks now?. I hit my face. The only way I could get answers to my questions was to find the person that brought me to this house.
I walked around, the corridor was big and very clean. The person who owns this house must spend fortunes on the maintenance of this mansion. Wow, wow! It's so beautiful. This is my dream house. I told myself.
On the corridor of the floor on which I was, I guessed it was the second floor, I could watch the floor down. The corridor was in a form of a semi circle with stairs running down to the first floor from both ends, with empty space in the middle that led to the first floor.
I glimpsed around, I saw a door directly opposite mine. I walked around to reach the other side. I opened the door and I barged in walking slowly.
As soon as I walked in my stare jammed with that of a naked man, he was walking out of the shower. I should take off my eyes, I told myself but I couldn't help but watch. And I'm just like "Wow, wow, wow!" I'm blushing
I remained dumbfounded, I wanted to take my gaze away but it was stuck on his sexy body. Omg, he had chiselled abs. God! I won't talk about his manhood.
"Sorry!" I quickly realised myself and walked out of the room. It was damn embarrassing. I hit my face in shame.
The house was so big and confusing. I tried to find the room in which I was previously. Finally, I opened a door and it led me into a room and everything was covered with white sheets in this room. Scaring!.
I stepped back and I locked the door then I turned to leave. Then boom! I saw him standing in front of me so closed to me. Damn!, he followed me out with a towel wrapped around his waist. He's to slay.
"That room!" he pointed out. "Oh, thanks!" I swallowed my spit in a gulp. "I will send someone to take care of you. And please, avoid peeping around, — I hate that!" he glared with that, he walked back into his room.
I had a lot of questions to ask him but my My mind went blank when I saw him. I moved to the door at which he pointed and it was the room I was looking for.
A few minutes later I heard knocks at my door. I opened and it was a maid with a trolley filled with plenty of stuff. She took very good care of me, I had a bath, she gave me dresses.
"He's down waiting for you" she said as she took me down stairs, to the firs floor for breakfast as she said. I said, wow! at every single step, I took because the house was breathtaking.
