Chapter 17. Mark and Lynne

"I heard some voices" I moved down to Mark after a good night of sleep. He was having breakfast in his beautiful dining room. "Yes, and they are gone already. You can take a seat" he said.

"Who were they?" I asked while taking a seat next to him. Oh, he's so cute, a portion of me cried. His fragrance was so appealing that it procured euphoria.

"It's not important… What did you plan to do this morning or your day, if I can help?" I asked. I was just trying to make the conversation.

"Nothing, I'm as free as the wind. I was layoff at work after attacking my superior, the assistant CEO. I was so mad that I pressed his neck, he was suffocating but I continue. I needed information. Then boom! I was caught lifting a 170 pounds man above ground level. So you can imagine the rest. Now I'm a freak at work" I became edged as I explained.

A quick hearty grin escaped his cute face. Thou it was very brief it made me smile. "Which information did you need that you had to go that far?" he asked.

"That evening, he took me to the back of the park where I was attacked. It's like he suddenly changed into an animal. I can't really remember, it's blurred." I said thoughtfully.

"What! Why didn't you tell me this earlier?" he frowned. "No, no, he wasn't even at the park that evening from what he told me" I got apprehensive.

"How sure are you, he might be laying?" I glared at her, omg, she's so naive. "I don't know. I gave up on everything when I was layoff" she pouted. "Hmmm…sad!" I exclaimed.

"I know right!. I pray they call me back. That job is everything to me" she whimpered.

"I doubt because no reasonable person will do that," I said and her shoulders slumped helplessly then I added "Anyway, you can stay here as long as you wish" I can't believe I just said that. I told myself.

"Thank you, but I'm leaving tomorrow whether Dresden, fine, a drug or not. I don't want to abuse your kindness. More to that I need to find an alternative in case they don't call me back" I said.

"Great!. You are free to do whatever you want. Just remember to remain low key." I said.

We had breakfast and lunch together. After which I locked myself in the office to work. Unfortunately, I couldn't concentrate, I kept staring through the window.

"Bertha, this sportswear is so nice. The legging and crop top fit me so well as if you knew I was going to come here and you prepared everything. So far all the dresses you've borrowed me fits me so well." I said. At times I felt like they planned my coming.

"You are welcome. Do you need something else?" she asked. "No, thank you. Oh, — one last thing before you leave." I said. "What do you need?" she stared at me with a smile on her face as usual.

"I want to exercise but I don't know where I can do that. I need a quiet place where I won't disturb anyone." I asked. "Oh, came me with me" I followed her.

We moved to the compound "You can exercise everywhere you wish. Feel free" she showed the whole compound with that said she left.

The compound was so big that I was confused about where to stand. Anyway, I moved to a corner. I began by stretching myself, then did a little bit of Yoga. After that tried I tested my abilities by hitting trees, running around like fool but with speed, lifted a few objects etc… I just had so much energy to waste. It was so relaxing.

A grin suddenly appeared on my face as I watched her scampering around. "Sexy!" I told myself. I watched her for hours before moving back to work.

I was so soaked in work that I didn't notice the time passing. I checked my wristwatch and it was a few minutes to 6 pm. I quickly freshened up.

I was ready to leave when she appeared from nowhere asking "Where are you going to?" she glared at me with her alluring eyes.

"I don't think it's any of your business" I recklessly exclaimed. I owed her no explanation about my movements. "Sorry, I know but I'm just worried" she got apprehensive.

"Worried?" I exclaimed. "Yes!" she seriously nodded her head. I knew she didn't mean it "Whatever, you shouldn't worry about me. Have some rest. Bertha will make something good for dinner." with this said I moved.

"Please, don't leave me alone. Just take me with you, — I don't want to be left alone" I whimpered. The house was damn boring and I needed a distraction.

Her voice halted me "You ain't alone. You have Bertha, Max the gateman. In case of anything you can get to them," I explained "I'm running late" I added.

"No, they ain't you. See, Bertha can't even protect herself and Max is far at the gate." I cried out. "I can't go with you," he said ruthlessly and it was hurting.

"It will be an opportunity for me to get familiar with creatures of the underground world… Aaawww…" I groaned. 'I can't believe I just said that' I hit myself in my mind. Damn, I was desperate.

"Not all the people I meet or work with are wolves. It's more of a double Identity. Like you, very soon you will belong to a werewolf family aside from your biological family." he explained.

"I understand but… Nerve mind!" I rolled my eyes wearily. He clearly didn't want to take me along and staying in that mighty house alone just the idea was freaking me out. And as a fan of horror movies I had thousands of creepy scene scampering my mind

"There is a 3D cinema room, Bertha will take you there. I think that will make your evening. I won't belong anyways" with this said he left.

"A 3D cinema room, not a bad idea!" I told myself.

Alpha Philip was staring through the window. At the sound of his thought's voice he gave up and took back his seat, furiously grinding his teeth.
