Vika's POV
"Yahhh!" I yawned, stretching my arms. I glanced at the time.
Had I really slept until noon?
Yeah, Asher and I had had a really long night.
I curled on my side and hugged my fluttering stomach. I giggled and squirmed.
"Shh, this isn't the time," I heard my mother say.
"I've been hearing…" another voice whispered. It trailed off quietly.
Who was that? It wasn't my dad. Who else would my mom be whispering to?
I kicked my covers back and went to the top of the stairs. I sank to the floor and pressed my back to the wall.
"No, she isn't ready," I heard my dad say.
"That's not up to you anymore," the stranger's voice said.
The voice sounded familiar. Where had I heard it before?
I tapped the side of my head. ‘Come on, brain, think. Where have you heard that voice?’
"We are her parents," my mother argued. I swallowed, my throat tight. They were talking about me.
"Things have changed," the stranger said.
