“Let me see the little prince.” My mother held out her arms.
I reluctantly handed over my son. It wasn’t that I didn’t want my mom holding him. I just didn’t want to let him go….
My mom cooed over him and kissed his little face.
“Let me have a turn,” Maeve said. She came over to see the baby.
“I’m not done yet,” my mother argued.
I rolled my eyes and looked at Lucas. “We might never get our son back.”
He shook his head. “That’s never going to happen.”
“Oh… it smells like someone needs a new diaper.” Maeve immediately turned Hunter over to Lucas.
“See, I told you we’d get him back.” He chuckled and brought Hunter to the changing table. “Now, let’s see if I remember what the nurse showed us about diaper changing.”
“Sasha, Maeve and I got you enough supplies to get started, but the two of us were talking about hanging around for a little while so we could make sure you have all the stocked meals you need and anything else,” my mom suggested.
