“How is the adjustment from one to two kids?” Lena asked.
We sat across from each other sipping tea in the palace gardens while the kids played together.
Willow was still young enough that I kept her in a sling on my chest.
“It has been an adjustment, but Lucas has really stepped up. I wouldn’t be able to do it all without him.”
Lena grinned. “I know what you mean. Xander was so helpful when it came to having multiple children. I’m glad you and Lucas were able to work things out.”
I smiled lightly and looked at my tea. “Don’t get me wrong, the airport project still keeps him busy, but he’s found a way to balance home and work life. It helps, a lot.”
“Admit it. You’re a little jealous that he gets to travel back and forth from one realm to the next. You know you miss that freedom.”
“Well….” I glanced down at Willow and then at Hunter, who toddled around with the older kids. “Maybe a little.”
“What if I said you could have it again?”
