Chapter 43: Elyhandros

At first, Selmas can’t see anything. Without Aisling’s light, the space is nearly pitch-black, and if not for Gwynfor and Byrin breathing steadily next to him, he would think that they had disappeared into thin air.

The space they find themselves in now is cool, a strange sensation when the rest of the mountain is boiling, though Selmas supposes that’s why it’s considered a special place. If it’s the only area in Mordyn that allows for cool air, then it would make sense that they keep it protected.

After a few minutes, the darkness fades away somewhat, or maybe their eyes just adjust, but the three of them are suddenly able to see the small crystals lining the walls, which have begun to glow with an eerie sort of light. They’re jewel tones, all pinks and blues and greens, and their shimmering incandescence is enough to reveal the chamber that they’ve stepped into.
