Chapter 20: A Walk in the Sun

It took Sarah a few seconds to realize that the kiss was actually happening, and wasn’t just a figment of her imagination.

She was having an internal conflict, because while her head was telling her to retreat and get away from him, her heart and whole body told her otherwise. She didn’t want to do it. In fact, she wanted to get even closer, if that was even possible.

Victor had his hands around her waist, pulling her towards him and there wasn’t any space left between them. Giving up on debating with herself, Sarah decided to just accept that maybe fate gave her a tiny moment of happiness.

She had never felt like that before with anyone, so she assumed it was worth the risk. She didn’t want to think about the consequences and just enjoy the moment, so she lifted her arms and put them around his neck, pulling his head closer to her.
