Chapter 24: Just Bury Me with My Shame

Jamie’s mother came through, and God, she loved her so so much.

Her medical documents had everything she needed to have this whole thing start making sense.

Back before she was born, in the developing stages, Mr. and Mrs. Burroughs signed off on three vaccines. Flu, whooping cough, and a third for rabies, except that last one didn’t make sense because there was no long-term rabies vaccine.

Jamie would know. She had enough lectures from her jaunts in the woods and would’ve gotten one if it existed.

That meant though that they injected whatever strange concoction during the formative period of pregnancy, which is what altered the DNA and RNA, adding an extra letter.

Then with the follow up checkup, they gave a ‘booster’ shot to the baby which was the stabilizer for the DNA.
