Valerie holed herself up in the bathroom when night came and the time to call her parents was optimum. Best to do it when the rest of the pack was asleep and would probably just think it was work calling instead of Valerie. 


Jamie put herself in the farthest corner of the cabin to give her some privacy, but the crying and reverent whispers made her heart and her teeth ache. 


This is what Andy and his parents stole from people. Stole from them. This is why she couldn’t just stop and leave it alone. People got hurt, people were being hurt, and he wasn’t stopping. So they had to be the ones to stop him. 


When Valerie came out, her eyes were puffy from a day filled with crying, but Jamie didn’t point it out. 


Together they huddled in the bathroom while Jamie called her parents and gave them the lowdown about everything that happened, and the next lead she needed them to follow.
