Chapter 24: Debut

[Beth: Hey, would you like to come to my debut next Saturday?]

[Sean: Depends, let me see if I’m scheduled.]

[Beth: No problem! Let me know.]

Beth checks her phone for what might be the hundredth time since she showed up to her debut day. She’s been completely inundated with messages from people who are in the audience, waiting to see her perform for the first time since— god, it’s been years, hasn’t it? She fell out of the community theatre world when her job all but took over her life, and since then, she hasn’t been able to justify the time it would take up in her life. Now she’s getting paid to do what she loves.

She should be overjoyed— and she is, she really is. There’s just… a piece, she thinks, missing. Something tiny and not worth her attention, but there nonetheless.
