~One week after the talk with Spirit of Skagos~
I guide the mana in the air and create a powerful barrier three hundred meters around my house. This barrier let me hide my garden and my house. The people that have yet tied into the barrier will see a barren Iceland instead of a place filled with Green.
Not only that, but I also decided to create a hypnotic barrier that lets anyone get inside my barrier, running around in cycles before putting them back to where they come from.
If the intruder is a magic user, it will warn them via a small electric zap that will knock them out cold. I want to create a barrier that blocks any divination spell, but it needs a massive amount of preparation.
For now, this will be enough.
After the last strands of mana are connected to the others, I release a sigh. It takes a large amount of my mana. To control the mana around me, I need to use my own mana as a hand that guides them into the shape I want.
It is hard to maintain that 'hand' and control them to take small strands of mana in the air. It is like an eighty-year-old grandma trying to put a thread into a needle hole. It is really hard. I need to maintain the flow of magic from me so it will not contaminate the mana I try to take.
"Woof!"
I look at my feet and see that Fenrir has already woken up.
"Ah, did I wake you up, girl?"
"Woof. Kyuun~"
"I see. You have already been awake for a while, huh? I'm sorry for the long wait, girl. This takes longer than I thought it would."
"Woof"
"Sure. Let's eat. It is already time to eat after all."
I pick up my Magic-Staff from the ground and walk toward my home, where I will cook some food for Fenrir and maybe the other wolves as well if they did not get anything from today's hunt.
~One month later~
Hmmm, I think I understand now. In the Game of Thrones show, the magic of this world is only at the barest minimum, or at least that is what I can see. I don't know how complex this world's magic is in the book but right now, I can say that this world's magic is rather simple.
Basic elemental control, basic effect spell, or basic transformation magic.
The only reason why Kloritz can create a complex barrier is that he is old. Not only that, he is a spirit. A spirit is a creature that is born from the natural energy of the world. They can control the world's mana like nothing as they are one with the world.
Spirit and Divine Being are different. Spirit is a creature born from the natural energy of the world, while a Divine Being is a creature that is born from belief. Old and New Gods, Seven Gods, R'hllor, or even Mother Rhoyne are born from the belief of the masses.
Anyway, Kloritz can create this complex barrier because he can control the mana as if it was his hand. I can do that to an extent, but I cannot do that fast enough like him. I need to do something first to help me cast my more complex spell.
Magic Circle.
With the help of Gaea, I know how to create my own magic circle. A magic circle can be said to be an app of magic. It can pre build my spell and cast it in an instant. The magic circle is like a coding structure of computer software.
I create the magic circle first, store it inside my soul and use it when I need it.
This will cut a large amount of time needed to cast the spell in exchange for power. It doesn't mean that every spell being cast by a magic circle is weak. Its original power is reduced but not to the point it becomes a weak spell.
I can increase the amount of power by tweaking the magic circle a little bit, but it requires time to do it. However, tweaking the magic circle is difficult. Just like how you code a program, a single mistake will make your program fail.
However, unlike computer programs, failure in the magic formula will make the spell unstable and explode.
I already blew thirty-four magic circle formulas in my experiment, and it hurt like hell. Even when I cast a barrier around my body, the explosion's impact still hurt my body.
There are three spells I injected into my magic circle. A spell called Tsunami, Draconic Transformation, and lastly Storm of Vengeance.
As the name suggests, Tsunami conjures a sixty-six feet wide and thirty-two feet (20 meters and 10 meters) tall wave of water. Draconic Transformation let me transform into a western dragon with four legs, one pair of massive wings, and a long neck. Storm of Vengeance let me conjure a massive storm. I can call a thunderstrike from the cloud of a storm to hit my enemy. Not only that, but I can also change the rain into acid rain instead of normal rain. Not only that, but the rain also heals me instead of damaging me.
These three are one of the longest and most complex magic I can cast. This is why it takes a month of constant experiment and training to complete the magic circle.
"With these spells done, I can prepare for the people of Skagos that will soon come. Seven weeks before they come, huh?"
~Six weeks later~
"Here you go."
I place the tea on the table and sit down on the chair. In front of me is Kloritz, who decided to visit me a week before the people started to come. I take a sip of my tea and say.
"So, what is it?"
"I'm dying."
I spray all the tea from my mouth to the side and cough. After a few seconds, I look at him and say,
"Are you serious?"
"Yes. When the people of Skagos arrive, I will be gone. I use the last of my power to give my follower the last vision. I will use the last bit of my power to guide them here. I just want to tell you this information."
