Caspian sat in front of his tea, Aurora was definitely something new to him. He wanted to break all her barriers.
She fascinated him and he was thinking about her a lot even though he was frequenting other women who were willing to bare it all for him and that was a lot of girls willing to do so.
This was a new challenge to him but Douglas was often a very accurate teller, he had said two weeks and he always set a challenge to himself to break the record and he had excelled in it.
Most girls would act coy and then during the night, they would come to his room on their own after hours.
He thought he had cracked Aurora and as he sat in his bed chambers, she had not come back and that surprised him, he thought she had run away the first time as she was too embarrassed to approach him but even when he did approach her, she had her guard up.
He had thought she must have had a suitor or someone who is interested in her and they shared mutual feelings but those suspicions were on the low for now and she seemed to be dead set on her answer for serving the palace to be very deadest and focused.
Or was she just good at lying? As the punishment for workers in the palace was forbidden, this could result in harsh punishments but it was more strictly imposed on the women of the palace and they were not allowed to bring dishonor or shame.
Yet he had never used fear or his position to get any woman to sleep with him, he felt elated when they came in their own accordance.
His looks had always drawn girls to him from a very young age, he was often sought after and as he grew older the more it became, he would get letters and women taking off their clothes in front of him at their on will.
His charm had also grown over the years, and his best friend Douglas often wondered if he had never had any real feelings for any woman.
Caspian had told him the truth, the first girl he had slept with had always stayed in his mind and she wanted a relationship with him exclusively.
He had begrudgingly agreed to her and thought he may be loved her, as this was all new to him, solidifying his manhood for the first time.
He convinced himself that he would be with her for a long time but soon after he got bored and very fast.
She had tried everything to keep him but they were on different pages and that's when he knew he could not settle for one girl.
It thrilled him to have so many women who wanted him and having switched up so many he never got bored.
Women would cry and beg him for more as they had developed way more than what he was ready to give. He never felt it was the responsibility to console the heartbroken woman as they knew what they were walking into and they did it voluntarily.
Aurora made her way outside, she needed some fresh air after the encounter she just had with Caspian.
When she had gotten outside and the breeze hit her, she welcomed it gladly. Aurora recalled her encounter that had happened a few minutes and definitely knew that this was not his first time. He seemed to be very experienced with luring women.
She touched her heart and it was racing fast, how would she survive this? When she thought about it some more it made more sense as to why Constance was constantly not there.
It hit her, she was always excited to go to her room and there were rumors that Constance had some sort of relationship with a very handsome suitor she was serving.
Some of the girls had seen Caspian and they were very jealous that she was that lucky the romance tales she would often tell were very inappropriate but she bragged about them very openly.
He must think all of them were like that and we were trying to get lucky. Why was she not repulsed by his touch? Why had she blushed instead of being infuriated?
Her mind was searching for answers that she herself could not find. If she confided in her friends there would encourage or brush her off.
She would deal with this on her own, Caspian would not push her and hoped he kept his word. Yet another question plagued her mind, why was he so dead set on her?
He could have any woman he wanted in a snap of a finger come to him willingly, so why was he doing this to her?
Was this all a game to him?
Aurora went to dinner and this time she was the last one to arrive and all he friends were confused,
"Duties are too much today?" Agnes asked her.
"No, I took a walk to clear my mind and I lost track of time."
"What were you thinking about so deeply?" Lucy chirped in.
"Nothing worth noting."
"How can it be nothing if it made you lose track of time," Ida remarked.
"We are here for you, you can tell us anything." Evelyn offered and she could see that her friends were genuinely concerned for her and she broke all resilience and she told them in a low tone what had happened and she could see them drinking up every word that came out of her mouth.
"If you won't have him I will," Barbara remarked.
"That is why Constance often bragged so much," Ella added also in a low tone.
"Lucky you," Lucy added.
"This is why I didn't want to tell you all in the first place, I don't want him in that way and I know his full intentions are not good. I also don't want to live a little as I want to keep my job for as long as possible."
They all took her words this time very seriously,
"Have you told him that you don't want the advances?" Agnes asked.
"How can she? We belong to the palace." Evelyn added.
"What will you do?" Ida asked.
"He did say he would not force me and I pray his words to do stand, but what concerns me is that he is dead set that I will come to him in my own accordance."
All of their eyes widened at her statement, "I guess he is good with more than words." Ella added.
"Are you worried you might cave in?" Barbara asked.
"Not at all, you all know if I put my focus onto something, nothing can ever change my mind."
They all nodded, and this reassured her that her friends had faith in her, and she would be able to win the battle waiting for her.
But could she win the war?
Aurora chatted some more and when it was time to leave, goodbyes were in order and she was on her way.
When she got to her place, Aurora did her usual and climbed into bed, this time thoughts about Caspian plagued her.
Could he be thinking of her? Or was she in over her head? The way he had looked at her, heat rushed through her.
Finally, she fell asleep,
Caspian rolled back,
"Did you like that Sire?"
"You more than pleased me, what is your name again?"
"Lilian Sire."
"Yes Lilian, you are dismissed."
He didn't bother watching her getting dressed and ready to leave, "Will you call for me again Sire?"
"I will when the time is right."
She smiled at his words and hurried along, Caspian wraps himself with a loincloth, he calls for one of his servants who knew by now that he wanted his sheets to be changed.
He stood outside and stared into the darkness, the night air was cold tonight and it numbed his face a bit. This made him feel a bit alive, it assured him that he was really here.
He should be content so why did he feel empty? What was he searching for?
