He grunts and charges forward, going for a Roundhouse punch. Athens smirks and blocks his attack and uses it against him. Before he can think what's next, Athena attacks with a kick right behind his ear.
"Argh! Damn woman!" he yells, the pain rising. He should be half dead by now so why is he still...? She cannot understand. She clearly injected the needle in his body and as per she knows, it takes five to ten minutes for the result.
She stabs the needle again, now in the region of his neck and he yells again. "You do have a tough skin."
She lunges over him and sits in top of his abdomen as he lies on the floor. She is eager to see his face. Grabbing his left arm when he tries to push her, she twists his wrist, almost breaking the bones in that region. "You are just a mere servant to me" she scorns, going to remove his mask.
"Don't!"
Struggling, she rips off the mask from his face and throws it aside. Her eyes widen when his face comes into view. His face is half burnt. He glares at her, struggling to break free from her hold.
"I need a hand here!" she demands and Cynthia comes to help her. She grabs his legs so he will stop fretting.
"Argh! Why do I feel —? What have you done to me woman?" he screams. Athena gives him a satisfied smirk. She almost thought that the needle is a waste but she is relieve to see it's working.
"Nothing. Just poisoned you" she says without any kindness towards him. And why should she even show any kindness towards him? He doesn't deserve that.
"My lady, the men are coming up. We need to hurry" Cynthia informs, gritting her teeth. She got hurt on her elbow and shoulder when fighting with those men.
"I don't want to die! I don't want to die!" he panics and begs her.
"Tell me his whereabouts and I will let you live" she asserts, putting force into grabbing his hands. Thr poison has not yet affected his whole body.
"You only have five minutes. Tell me Or rot here to die. "
"I don't believe you! As soon as I tell you, you will leave!" he argues. His blue iris reflects fear. The left side of his face is burnt and it looks horrible.
"Fine then" she utters and snatches away the envelope the man had from his grip. "I will take this then. "
Before leaving, she gives him one hard punch straight on his face, making him unconscious. Blood starts to flow from his nose.
Keeping the envelope inside her dress, she checks herself before going out of thr room. Her hair is a mess and there is slight bruises on her skin. She gives a little tossle to her hair and wears her heels quickly.
The men are also dead. The room is now half filled with bodies lying around. The man is still grunting but when Athena kicks on his chest with the hard surface of her heel, he gives away his last breath.
"Bekham has taken care down. We are safe to go" Cynthia informs and they all starts to leave. They do not care to put on their masks and walks with wide steps, impatient to leave from this hotel quickly.
When she comes downstairs, there isn't any party going on. Everything is silent and the waiters are all lying like dead bodies on the ground. Even the guards in front of the hotel's main door are unconsciously lying inside.
Bekham, one of the guard comes and bows. "My lady."
"You did good. Prepare the car" she orders, exiting out of the hotel.
As soon as she steps inside the car, she cannot wait to open the envelope.
"My lady, you got hurt" Cynthia points her index finger to Athena's arm where blood is pulsating from the small cut. "Bekham, drive fast to Dr. Torres" she tells worriedly to Santos who is sitting on the front seat.
"Yes" he obeys. Athena wants to protests but it might be of help to visit Dr. Torres. She examines the envelope cover, from its left to it's right. No writing, nothing.
She opens the envelope and takes out the piece of card from inside. What can it be? Although she knows the man has nothing to offer her but she cannot help feeling a little hopeful that this envelope might have what she wants.
When she flips the card to see what's written, a small growl lefts from her lips. The grip on the card gets tighter as she reads the card.
AMORA,
I AM MOST CERTAIN YOU ARE READING THIS MESSAGE NOW. AND I CAN ALSO TELL YOU ARE NOT HAPPY TO READ IT. DO NOT WORRY, YOU WILL HAVE MANY CHANCES OR I SHOULD SAY PLENTY OF TRAPS TO FALL INTO.
She knows who sent her. She grinds her teeth hardly reading the message again. It will not change anything but the fact that she got fooled by the one she shouldn't, makes her infuriate. There's only one man who calls her by her birth name and she damn well hates that. She wants to crush the paper but she has other thing to do with it and for that she will need Dr. Torres's help.
"My lady, what's written on it?" Cynthia asks but she can guess it must not be any good judging Athena's sour face. Athena passes her the card for Cynthia to read it.
Her eyes widen realizing the owner and planner of the trap. Cario.
"Is he watching us?" she asks with a gasp.
Athena gazes out of the window, her eyebrows furrow. She answers, "Not him. Someone is notifying him about me."
Shocked, Cynthia asks, "Who could it be? My lady, I don't think it is anyone from our clan. They will not dare double cross you."
"The person was there. At the party" she speaks, remembering the man in mask who wore a striking red suit. She knew he was looking at her but she didn't guessed at that time he was doing something else as well. "Cario Santiago" she mutters his name in utter disdain. "I will give a fine reply to this very soon."
