Too Familiar

"Erm... I know this is crazy. And complicated. But will my father's job come between us?" He swallows, looking at me in his warm brown eyes. Oh, did he think I was quiet because I was scared?

I clear my throat, trying to find the right words to explain that I wasn't. "No, of course not. You have nothing to do with what your father does. You are your own person even though you share the same blood." I kiss him on the cheek. "Don't ever think I would think of you that way okay?" I brush the tip of my nose with his cheek. He nods, "Okay."

I backed away,"I have a question though?"

He turns to me, kicking off his shoes to fully face me. His legs crossed, still holding my hand "okay?"

"What does your mom think about your father's job?" I ask, his eyes move to the headboard thinking about my question.
