Passing by an ordinary neighbourhood was all it took to change Ryder's life. To alter his emotions, his thoughts and the pace of his heart for the days to come. He stopped to ask for direction to a cafe from a student walking home. Skylar was attracted to him, he liked her the minute he saw her, how genuine she was, how politely she spoke and how beautiful her smile was.

As they grow more fond of each other and link their fingers tight, the world comes in between. Having different backgrounds, personalities and desires has challenged them as to how to tolerate, compromise and understand. 

Skylar was having a hardtime to figure out her feelings. The emptiness that resided inside her, but at the same time felt so compressed with invisible emotions. Her longing for what she lost, not knowing enough about what it was, just merely informed that she didn't have it left her frustrated for years. She was scared, of what? She herself didn't know.

She meets a friend on Facebook and vibes so greatly with him. She texted him on her dates with Ryder, left Ryder on seen multiple times and was being less attentive as days go by. Ryder gets so tempted to hack her when working on a program that would help, to which he finds out she could have been flirting with another guy, not informing about her relationship status and telling Ryder that they were just friends when he asked. Would he forgive and forget?

She didn't like the idea of someone walking over her privacy. She believed he didn't trust her enough, pride and confusion made it hard to apologise. Would she let it get in between?

And would she ever know about her fear? Would she try to face it? Most of all, would their hands stay linked?

the Silent Beat

"You want some?" asks Ryder, chewing on his popcorn as he gestures the kit to me. I shake my head and turn back to the movie. We were in a cinema on a date, after grabbing some fries from a restaurant. Ryder has been busy these days with the project he and Calum (his friend) were given. But he tries to make time for us as much as possible. Clearing his schedule in the afternoon after my school when he could and talking every night on the phone. His effort to spend time together between my school and his job and online classes warms my heart. I smile unintentionally as I remember his Goodnight texts. Because right now what I want is just his time as he needs mine too. 


Catherine, Dylan and Eric have been mad at me for spending too much time with Ryder. I most of the time skip our gatherings and hanging outs on Tuesday and Thursday when I'm with Ryder. We usually go out when we skip Asp but I think I pushed it too far even though I didn't go with them a lot before.
