Move On

    "Didn't you wait long?"

Jessi got up from her seat when Fauzan arrived and went straight to her. His breath was still ragged, he seemed to be running to get there quickly.

"Not bad. Well, let's go straight home!" take Jessi later. He no longer wanted to linger in this place. Something was threatening him.

"Where don't you want to go first? Seriously, do you want to go straight home?" Fauzan only felt strange with Jessi's attitude which had changed suddenly.

Usually, Jessi will whine to Fauzan to go around the mall first. For whatever it was, Jessi even thought that he was just going around without buying anything else.

However, this time it was different. Jessi asked to go straight home. I don't know what's going on or I just want it.

"No. I want to go straight home," with a worried expression on his face.

"What's wrong, Babe? Why are you so nervous?" Fauzan's hand gripped Jessi's cold hand.

"I'm fine. Let's go home!" Jessi pulled Fauzan's hand so he could walk. It's a long time to wait for the man to walk first.

    ***

However, it turns out that the world is not on his side. In the mall lobby, their eyes and faces met. Jessi instantly froze on the spot with her eyes straight ahead. His heart was beating quite fast. His hand tightened holding Fauzan's hand. Cold sweat started dripping from his forehead.

"Hi, how are you?" The greeting this time made Jessi dizzy. His head suddenly felt dizzy even though he only heard ordinary greetings from old friends.

"Okay. You, uh how are you?" replied Fauzan who had heard nervously.

Jessi's eyes did not leave the woman in front of her. His hand that was holding Fauzan's hand felt sweaty because Fauzan was also holding his hand very tightly.

"I'm fine. Are you guys still together? It lasts!"

"I'm glad to see you guys again. Especially with you guys being together like this. I thought you two weren't together anymore," he continued.

The more the person talked, the more dizzy Jessi felt. Shadows of the past came back to fill his head with many problems.

"Disha. How are you?" said Jessi with all her might. The meaning of the greeting is different. That's not what Jessi meant.

"Jess, I'm fine. I already answered earlier. You can still hear normally, right?" I don't know what that means, joking or on purpose. But, the tone of his voice sounded cynical.

"Good. Do you have another partner?"

Jessi watched as the woman named Disha glanced at Fauzan who was nervously silent.

"Not yet. I still can't move on from the old one," he answered then looked at Jessi mockingly.

"Hurry up and move on! Quickly find a replacement. It's not fun if you keep waiting for guys," Jessi said and then pulled Fauzan's hand to quickly leave. Fauzan himself just surrendered and didn't want to fight.

"Not following Rere?" asked Evelyn after Rere left them.

Satria's eyes were still following Rere's footsteps even though the woman was no longer seen.

"No need. After all, he's in my car anyway. What are you doing here?"

"Ehm… I'm still accompanying my friend who is shopping."

"How's your life so far?" Satria is one of the people who know Evelyn's life best before they parted ways.

"Still the same. Same as before. But now it's better. At least I'm not a destroyer anymore."

Satria looked deeply at the woman in front of him. His eyes were sincerely looking at Evelyn.

"How are you? How are you all? Jessi and Fauzan?"

"We're all fine. We still often hang out together and see each other. Jessi and Fauzan are fine," replied Satria as if he knew what Evelyn wanted.

"Lyn, if you need anything, don't hesitate to call me! I'll always be ready for you at any time," he said quietly.

Evelyn nodded. The woman's appearance was so simple but still looked very beautiful with light make-up.

    "Yes," Evelyn replied then.

"You still have my number, don't you? I've never changed my number," he said again.

    "Yes."

"Well, then I have to go first. Are you okay!"

Evelyn nodded again. Then Satria left. When else can you see Satria talk so much like before? If not only in the presence of Evelyn.

    ***

"What else?" Just opened the door, but Rere was already reluctant to ask someone in front of him.

"I just want to give you the groceries that you left in my car in case you forgot," he answered then put all of Rere's groceries in the house near the door.

"Sat, how come you can still be nice to him?" Rere asked, stopping the movement of Satria who had turned around and was ready to leave.

"Because he's good," he answered shortly then actually left Rere's house.

Rere could only watch him from the door of his house, Satria's car that had already swayed far away.

"It's really hard to talk to a twelve-door refrigerator," muttered Rere who then closed the door of his house. Want to immediately tidy up all the shopping in its proper place.

They just sat in silence in the car. Jessi's face hardened even more just remembering everything. Of all the ex-Fauzans, only he is the most annoying according to Jessi.

    "Let us go home!"

Fauzan obeyed and then drove his car out of the parking lot.

During their journey, no one could provoke a chat for them. Fauzan and Jessi were both silents. Don't know where to start the chat to unfreeze it.

Jessi's head was spinning, she didn't know how to deal with herself right now. It has been years since this terrible incident happened. Why did everything have to come back when everything was fine as it is now?

"My family has been destroyed. I can't reach everything I want anymore. If you want to destroy me even more, come on now. So that I won't be tired later," said Jessi slowly leaning her limp body on the back of the chair.

Fauzan could only stay silent, not knowing what else to reply. He admits all his mistakes but this time he doesn't know anything.

"I don't know anything about this matter, By. Don't talk like that, you know that my family isn't okay either?"

"You know why I'm studying law. What's the reason I don't want to work. You know all that, right, Fauzan?" They could never yell at each other even though they were making a lot of noise. They always try to lower their voices to speak even in any situation.

Fauzan looked down. Yes, he knows everything. Everything Jessi has done so far is for a clear reason.

"What should I do now? To apologize, I don't think I deserve it anymore," he said softly.

"Enough. Move on. Forget the past."
