Chapter 1 fateful Encounter, Destiny Change

They say gods are all-knowing and all-powerful. That they are the ones that created the world, nay the universe as we all know it.

People worship those who have power and knowledge that mortals cannot comprehend, leading to many civilizations worshiping them as if the world revolves around them.

A shining beacon of a perfect utopia for everyone to bask in blissful ignorance.

Not once have mortals ever questioned things that are outside of the domain of gods. Always being obedient servants to their beloved deities, never truly questioning them of what mystery of the world holds. Seeking knowledge that is yet to be discovered. What could still be hidden in the world nor searching through the star ocean.

Truly a perfect utopia ruled by deities in a stagnated world, never progressing, never evolving to push forward.

Yet, like all cycles… Nothing lasts forever. For gods fear what they do not understand, for they fear the unknown. They fear changes. Those clinging only to the past nor presents and never moving towards a tomorrow. It will only lead to their own ruination.

However, there still may lie hope for this stagnated world. For the very world has begun to shift right underneath mortals and deities' noses.

Soon the world will need a true hero. Nay, it needs an Elden Lord in this chaotic world of deities, monsters, deceptions, and a bloody revolution.

Morning has come for the people of Orario, the Labyrinth City. A city of opportunity where all races can climb the social ladder for glory and fame in the dungeon created by the gods to suppress the mortal enemy, monsters.

In the slums district of Orario lay a rundown church with a basement where our story truly begins. Laying on an old couch, sleeping is a seventeen-year-old with his hair white as a rabbit. As the ray of light touches his face, his eyes open showing his eyes color has ruby with a touch of innocence in his personality.

"Nnn… is it five am already?" Bell said quietly as he stretched his arms up while yawning simultaneously. Getting his wits back, he began noticing something clinging to him. Looking down, he saw a young girl was snoring cutely peacefully while clinging to him like a stuffed teddy bear. Said girl was none other than his goddess, Hestia of the Hearth, home, architect, and head of her Familia.

Hestia is a lovely and beautiful goddess with a youthful appearance. She has long black hair tied in twin ponytails that reaches her mid-thighs. Her eyes color is that of beautiful sapphire. Her height only reaches his lower chest, and speaking of chest, Hestia has been nicknamed the 'Loli Big-boobs' due to her *cough* chest size. Nevertheless, he first met his goddess when he first arrived at the Labyrinth City. His first priority was signing up at the Adventurer Guild. Afterward, he went out Familia hunting, thinking he would get accepted on the first day. Sadly that was not the case for over two weeks. For two weeks, he has been to every deities' Familia to only be turned down. All due to his appearance and his personality, that of a white rabbit, some even muck him saying that at the site of first danger, he would flee like a scared little bunny. In the third week, he was kicked out of the inn he was staying at due to running out of money to pay for his stay. He was at the end of his rope until he met his goddess Hestia who was selling jagamarukun in a food stall. It was the best day of his life. Sure they are poor at the moment and staying at a rundown-church but hey, one gotta start somewhere, right?

'Oh it's just my goddess, Hestia.' Bell said with a smile before closing his eyes for a little bit.

'HHHHHUUUUUUUUUHHHHHHHHHHHH!' Bell's eyes opened wide open.

Getting off his couch quietly not to wake up his goddess as he turned towards his beginner gears that were lent to him by the Adventurer Guild.

'Did she sleep walk again?' Thought Bell as he put on his leather coat and placed his dagger on his scabbard. Turning towards the stair he was about to head off till he turned towards his sleeping goddess.

"Well, I'm off. Take care." He said quietly, not wanting to wake up her slumber.

'Such a dummy… Bell-kun…'

Walking outside of the church entrances Bell looked up in the sky as the ray of light got into his face. Raising his hand to block out the sun, he looked up at the sky. Giving a nod in determination as he ran towards the dungeon to gain magic stones and level up.

Running towards his destination he took the main street to only find it had become crowded with activity. So he decided to take a shortcut and took the back alley. Turning some more to get to the dungeon, he was so excited that he wasn't paying attend until he took another turned and-

*Slam*

'Ouch…Did I slam into a wall?' Bell thought to himself, nursing his head as he laid on the ground until he felt something touch his hand. Looking down he saw an orange? Looking around he saw a bag full of oranges on the ground with a couple spread across the floor. When he saw a gloved hand picking them up, Bell just realized what he had done and acted on instinct.

"I'm so sorry! I wasn't paying attention! Please let me help you!" Bell panicked as he started to pick up the oranges for the stranger. Until he felt a hand on his shoulder, looking up he saw the stranger in a completely concealed black coated hood from head to toe. What was even stranger was that when he looked directly into the hooded man, he couldn't see the man's face. It was as if his whole face was concealed in the shadow of his hood.

"Woah woah there buddy, no need to be sorry about it. Shit happens my man. Were you rushing late…~to meet up with your giiiiiiiiirlfriend~?" the hood man said with a mischievous tone at the end of his question.

"HHHHHHHUUUUUUHHHHHHHH!" Bell became a blushing messed before shaking his head until he responded back. "N-no-no no no, nothing likes that I-I I was heading towards the Labyrinth dungeon!"

"Don't sweat it, I was just joking." Said the hood man as he picked up his oranges.

"Let me help you carry them! It's the least I could do for causing this mess." Bell said wanting to help the guy out.

"~Weeeeeeeell~ if you insist in helping me. Can you help me carry them towards the Northern wall and maybe chat for a bit?"

Bell nodded his head after gathering all the fruits as they headed towards the Northern Wall of the city. As they walked towards their destination, Bell took a glance at the hooded man with curiosity. Is the man new here or is he from a familia? If so, what kind of gods or goddesses does he serve? So lost in his own thoughts not realizing that they finally arrived at the place.

"~Aaaaaannnnnd~ finally we have arrived towards our destination~." Said the stranger getting Bell out of his thoughts, "And what a view that is, ~riiiiiiiiight~?"

"Ye-yeah the view is great you can almost see the whole city from here."

The stranger nodded at his answer before sitting down on the ledge seat as he moved his hand in a motion for Bell to join him. Not wanting to be disrespectful Bell obliged the stranger's request and sat down to take in the view.

After looking at the city for a bet the stranger made his first move, "~So~ why are you going to the Labyrinth dungeon for, ~white rabbit~?"

'White rabbit?' Bell was startled by the nickname before answering, "I'm in a familia that specializes in dungeon crawling to gain crystals from monsters for the guild in order to gain payment."

"Oh, I see and your own goal?"

"My own goal?"

"Yes, your own goal, sure that is your familia goal or perhaps one of them. What I'm asking you, white rabbit. What is your goal in life? What is your dream to achieve?"

"ah-ha-" Bell was left speechless not of his answer but what his original goal was when he was but a child. When his grandpa told him stories of heroes and fairy tales. But most importantly how his grandpa filled his head in becoming an adventurer in order to pick up a girl in a dungeon. "We-wel-well you see-see, I came here to Orario to become an adventurer and hope to find…"

"~Ggggoooooo ooooonnnn~" The hood stranger said with his hand motioning him to continue his answers.

"…to-to pick up-up a girl in a dungeon…" Bell managed to say it with a fierce blushed on his face.

"~I see~." The hood man said if he solved the world problem, "I take it was inspired by someone? Was it a perverted old man that is always talking on and on about ass and tittes? ~Oooooor~ is it ~from your old gramps~? "

"What-what, how did-did you figure it out tha-that grad-grandfather!?"

"You did, ~you silly goose~. You just confirmed my answer." said the stranger.

Bell felt like he wanted to die or have the ground swallow him whole to escape his blonder.

"Hay, hay! It's totally alright to be inspired by other people's ideas."

"Really!"

"Sure it is, just as long as they are truly your own ideal."

"My own ideal?"

"Yes. It's fine to be motivated or be inspired by other people's ideals, beliefs, or ambitions. But one must find their own goals in life. What they truly want for the world and for themselves." The hood men expressed his point as he got up and walked as he placed his hands on his back. "You said your grandfather inspired you to pick up a girl in a dungeon, but is that what you truly want? Or is it just a side goal for what your heart truly wants."

"What my heart… truly wants?" Bell Asked as he placed his right hand on his heart trying to understand the hood man question.

"One must seek out the answers for themselves in order to find what they truly want in this world. In fact one might even question the very world itself in order to gain their answer."

"Question the world? What do you mean by that?"

"Who knows? That is what life is all about, ~nooooo~?" The hood man said, turning around towards Bell as he continued, "To find their goals is a spiritual journey and once they reach their destination. Then their goal becomes fully realized. And then, they must choose…"

"Choose?"

"Choose if their goal is truly worth fighting for in order to make it a reality." The hood man said with his hand stretched out towards Bell to make a point.

After hearing the stranger say his piece. Bell digests his answer. Trying to understand what he meant by choosing his goals and making it a reality. Before Bell could think more about it the hood man got his attention.

"Hey, you don't have to think about it right away to give me an answer. In fact, why not meet up again here, once you have your answer. Same place and same time in about two month, how does that sound?"

"That sounds great." Bell said with joy hoping to give out his answer towards the man.

"Got it white rabbit, In fact, to our new found friendship I'll give you a gift. For taking your time to carry my fruits and chatting with me." The hood man said as he took out an item from one of his pockets.

"Really? Thanks you, but you don't ha-"

"No, no, no. I insert and Ah! Here we are!" The stranger said, taking out the item from his pocket. The item was a necklace. A golden chain attached to a golden seed that glowed with mystery? "Here it is. I offer you this gift." The stranger said hand stretched out the necklace toward Bell, "Take it. It will give you strength…" Bell nodded, not wanting to be rude as he grabbed the gift "…help you on your journey."

"Thank you for the gift." Bell said as he stared at the golden seeded necklace. Mesmerize by its glow.

"Not a problem white rabbit. We'll meet again here in two month. Can't wait to hear your answer. Oh and one last thing, Bell."

"Yeah…"

"May your heart be your guiding key."

"May your heart be your guiding key? Huh, wait how did yo-" When Bell looked up for the hood person only to see the stranger vanished, "What? Where did he go?" Bell asked out loud, surprised that the stranger knew his name. He was pretty sure he didn't even give out his name to the hood figure. In fact, Bell even forgot to ask the stranger his name. Nevertheless, Bell looked at the necklace once more, still giving out a warm glow. Why was it glowing? Is it a charm? Maybe it gives the wearer good luck, or a boost of his status?

Deciding to wear the necklace, Bell put it on with a smile and headed towards the dungeon to earn some experience and gain some loot. What could possibly go wrong today, right?

Eight hours later…

'I WAS WRONG! I WAS SO TERRIBLY TERRIBLY WRONG!' Bell screamed his thought as he fled for his life as a roar echoed behind him. This led him to run even faster while screaming like a little girl. The sound of stomp was getting louder and closer to him. Sure he was the fastest kid back in his home village, but he knows he can't outrun the creature forever.

For said creature that was chasing him was a Minotaur. A monster only found in the lower parts of the dungeon. That begs the question, why is it here on the Fifth Floor? He doesn't know and likely doesn't care right now. Right now, his only objective is to get out alive.

Bell knew the risk when he signed up to become an Adventurer. Everyone who became one knew all the risks that the chance of death is at every corner when stepping down into the dungeon. As he turned the corner, he came to a dead end. Before he could turn back, it was too late. It was here.

Before Bell could even act, the Minotaur's right arm slammed him. Bell collided towards the wall, which caused the wind to be knocked out of him. The pain he felt all over his body was paralyzed as he slid down. Then a shadow was over him. Slowly looking up, he saw the Minotaur raising its club to finish him off.

In another world, the Sword Princess Aiz, a well-known adventurer from the Loki Familia, would have saved him. This would have led him to push himself to reach his goal of becoming her equal and may have led to feelings of love for one another. Sadly it was never meant to be as said; familia was ambushed by a monster party.

The boy could only look up, petrified as the Minotaur brought his club down at the poor white hare to finish him off. With both parties not noticing, the golden seed glowed with power. The last thing Bell heard was the crushing sound of his skull in the Minotaur club.

*SMASH-SPLAT*

*BANG*

*BANG*

The fallen leaves tell a story.

The great Elden Ring was shattered.

In our home, across the fog, the Lands Between.

Now, Queen Marika the Eternal is nowhere to be found,

and in the Night of the Black Knives, Godwyn the Golden was first to perish.

Soon, Marika's offspring, demigods all, claimed the shards of the Elden Ring.

The mad taint of their newfound strength triggered the Shattering.

A war from which no lord arose.

A war leading to abandonment by the Greater Will.

Aaaahhh Arise now, ya Tarnished. Ye dead, who yet live.

The call of long-lost grace speaks to us all.

Hoarah Loux, Chieftain of the badlands.

The ever-brilliant Goldmask.

Fia, the Deathbed Companion.

The loathsome Dung Eater.

And Sir Gideon Ofnir, the All-knowing.

And one other. Whom grace would bless an outlander.

A Tarnished from another world.

Cross the fog, to the Lands Between.

To stand before the Elden Ring.

And become the Elden Lord.

"Don't worry Torrent, Fortune is on his side. One of his kind is sure to seek the Elden Ring…Even if it does violate the Golden Order…."

Oh, yes, Tarnished are we? Come to the Lands Between for the Elden Ring, hmm? Of course you have, no shame in it. Unfortunately for you, however, you are maidenless. Without guidance, without the strength of runes, and without an invitation to the roundtable hold…You are fated, it seems, to die in obscurity."

"Mmm…Mmmmmm…Oh! Hello there! I am Slegward of Catarina. To be honest, I'm in a bit of a pickle. I don't know how I got here. One moment, I had helped in fulfilling an oath to an old friend and the next thing I know after taking a nap I round up here! In this strange but remarkable land."

"Greetings. Traveler from beyond the Fog. I am Melina. I offer you an accord."

"To be human again and not… Oh never mind, this is probably my second chance for atonement… Very well, I will teach you the ways of how a hunter of the church fights."

"My reason for moving forward is that one day, I can return home to my goddess and to see if my friends managed to escape."

"A pleasure to meet thee, Tarnished. I am the witch Renna."

"Greetings great champion called by grace. I am Fia. Circumstances have compelled my stay at the Roundtable Hold. Great champion, would you allow me to hold you, but briefly?"

"…Thanks for your assistance. Now I must be off to find my mistress. I pray that I am not too late."

"Foul Tarnished, in search of the Elden Ring. Emboldened by the flame of ambition. HRAH! *SMASH* Someone must extinguish thy flame. Let it me Margit the Fell!"

"You… you remind me of… a valiant knight that I once held dear to me. Before he… Never mind, can thou tell me your name, little rabbit?"

"*Chuckles* It doesn't matter if one is a hunter or a Tarnished. Leave the hunting of predators to me…"

"Wait a second. Are you telling me that your world deities built a tower that reaches to the very heavens? That said tower is on top of a massive dungeon that spawns monsters?...ARE THEY FUCKEN OUT OF THEIR MIND!"

"Tha-thank you for saving me, mister. You-you remind me of my big brother. I-I believe the two of you will get along great!"

"Those two girls you brought here… One is a crestfallen while the other is a little pup, unable to swing a blade. Yet both of them have a gift for spirit tuning."

"Well, this is unexpected. You want to learn sorcery from me? How intriguing. Very well. Promise me this, I will teach you sorcery in exchange you will bring me knowledge of scrolls detailing sorcery's secrets of the Land Between we find ourselves in. Well? Can you assure me of this?"

"Hush, little culver, I'll soon birth thee anew. A sweeting fresh and pure…"

"You're Tarnished, aren't you? I welcome you, to the Church of Vows. I am Miriel, steward of this sacred chamber."

"You are so…very warm…"

"You there, Tarnished. Didn't you see the sign? Turn back at once, this village is now under my protection."

"You know white rabbit, I was once like you. I looked up to our gods and goddesses as if they had all the answers, not questioning them, or our very world itself. Now… I question everything."

"O gathering of champions, the revels begin! The celebration of war! The Radahn Festival!

"I am the guardian of Those Who Live in Death. They call me a foul and rotten witch. Yet you still wish to be held by me?"

"Thank you… Little white hare… Please promise me… Promise me you'll look after Ranni for me… Help her achieve her dream… May we meet again in a better life…"

"HAHAHAHA, Ooh! Majestic! A hunter… or rather, a Tarnished is a Tarnished, even in a dream!"

"Step away from that wretched witch! For the wrath of the Golden Order demands of the Order's justice, writ in her blood!"

"…Ah…AHAHAHAHAHAHAH! It looks like I failed them both! AHAHAH, I promised them on their grave that I would build a gentler world for you to grow up in! But to see you here just like the rest of us, goes to show you I failed miserably. AHAHAH… Forgive me, for I failed your son again…"

"Thank you, for curing my blight. I can feel the taint fading away. Please let me teach you about pyromancy that my mother and sisters had created."

"Hmm…Very well. You…Join the Sssssserpent King, as family…Together, we will devour the very godsssssss!"

"…Ah, oh, you again white rabbit…A shame you had to see me like this…Ohh, I had a bit of a slip-up, that's all. I should have stuck to what I know best…No matter. I-I can trust you. Gullible, yes, but a good soul. Make certain that Tanith gets this…"

"Dearest Miquella. You must abide alone a while... Welcome honoured guest. To the birthplace of our Dynasty!"

"You're a good friend hare… remember what I told you a long time ago. Beware, secrets are secrets for a reason. Some do not wish to be discovered. Especially when the secrets are partially unseemly."

"Ahh, may chaos take the world! MAY CHAOS TAKE THE WORLD!"

"Thank you… for the madness has finally come to an end… You gave me a worthy knight's end… Can I ask you…this dying knight request for me? Protect h-"

"My thanks. I know you were the stuff of champions. It was a marvelous battle. I implore you, take what I bequeath…from inside me…All vessels are destined one day break. But the great Alexander lived as a warrior to his last! Ha ha ha ha!"

"You are just like that accursed ashen one. Who ruined my ideal world of rot. You shall not ruin my plan for Malenia to ascend to godhood. I will snuff out ya Tarnished and Miquella's needles for good."

"O, Death. Become my blade, once more."

"This stagnated cycle must end…"

"I know…in my bones… A Tarnished, even from another world, cannot become a Lord. Not even you hare. A man cannot kill a god…"

"It's been a long while Morgott... Long and hard didst thou fight. Tarnished Warrior. Spurned by the grace of gold. Be assured, the Elden Ring resteth close at hand. Alas, I am returned. To be granted audience once more. Upon my name as Godfrey, The First Elden Lord!"

"Those eyes…THOSE FUCKING EYES! I CAN'T FUCKEN STAND THEM! I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW SHE COULD HAVE EVER LOVED THAT WORTHLESS PIECE OF SHIT! SHE WAS ALL MINE AND THAT WORTHLESS PIECE OF SHIT SUPPORTER TOOK HER FROM ME! BUT NOW, I CAN KILL YOU! JUST AS I DID WITH YOU WORTHLESS COWARDLY FATHER!

"…The battle is over, I see."

I do solemnly swear. To every living being, and every living soul. Now cometh the age of the stars. A thousand year voyage under the wisdom of the Moon. Here Beginneth the chill night that encompasses all, reaching the great beyond. Into fear, doubt, and loneliness… As the path stretcheth into darkness…"

"Well then, shall we? My dear consort, eternal."

Eyes wide open with mouth opened wide up, gasping for air. Within seconds the body rolled backward to get up in a fighting stance. Reaching for a weapon, only grasping a dagger.

"What the?" Confused about why he was carrying a dagger, more precisely, a weak-looking dagger that can hardly be called an actual dagger. Reaching for his other weapons only to grasp air. Panicking, he decided to breathe in and out to calm his nerves. Looking down at the only weapon, he saw a reflection. His reflection, red eyes staring back, or rather, Bell Cranel was staring back at himself.

Taking a better look at what he was wearing and realized he was not wearing his trusted armor. Instead, he wore a brown leather coat with an iron chest plate over his jacket, leather gloves, black pants with black boots, a belt over his waist with a scabbed, and a small backpack sling over his back.

'These gear…' Bell thought to himself that he hadn't worn these gear for a long time. Ever since his arrival to the Lands Between, he traded them for better equipment in order to survive in a shattered world. The armor he gained from the traveling merchant was far superior and more protection than the guild had provided him.

Seeing his surroundings, Bell realized he was back to where it all started. Back to when he enters the dungeon to slay monsters' crystals. Back home. Finally, the realization sunk into him as he returned to Orario, the Labyrinth City. Lowering his head as his shoulder started to shake, and without warning, Bell flung his head and let out a burst of hollow laughter.

"HAHAHAHAHAHA… what was I fucken thinking about coming here with these pathetic gear haha…." Bell said, putting his hand on his face. It's been a couple of years since he last thought about this dungeon and his death that kick-started all of this. With another fit of hollow laughter, he cried out, "HAHAHAhahaha… What the hell was I thinking in my mind that it was a great idea to pick up a girl in a dungeon with so little or any experience whatsoever."

'He was totally right about one own goals. It's better to have one own goal or ideals and not follow other beliefs that aren't your own.' Bell thought, reminiscing of his old conversation with the black hood stranger. Speaking of said stranger, he checks his golden seeded necklace only to see it has become hollow without its golden glow. Staring at it, a million thoughts ran around his mind before giving out a sigh. Checking to see if he genuinely lost all his Equipment from the Land Between, and sure enough, he lost them all.

"…Fuck my life…." Bell laments out as reality should its ugly face. The greater problem was that everything he owned, bought, made, forged, and found throughout his travels was gone. All of it is gone… Wait gone?...GONE!?

Bell searched one more time on his belongings to only realize his most important reminder, the one he made a pact with. The one who helped him move forward, the one who helped him open his eyes to the truth, the one he had grown feeling for, the one thing that helped him stay connected with his beloved, was missing!

"God dammit…" Bells Cursed himself for not realizing it sooner. The doll he found, carried throughout his journey, communed with her, and protected with his life was gone. Before he could think about what to do next to figure out his blight, his instinct kicked in as he heard a scream.

"ANYONE, PLEASE HELP US!"

*ROOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAARRRRR*

Hearing where the scream and the roar was coming from Bell paused before a wry grin formed on his face. "Ain't no rest for the wicked, huh."

With that said Bell went straight first into the dungeon abyss.

HURRY! THE MINOTAURS ARE GETTING CLOSER!"

"THE HELL ARE THE HIGH LEVEL ADVENTURES EVEN DOING!"

"KEEP RUNNING! DON'T STOP!"

As running feet echo across the dungeon's floor, five adventurers, two female demi-sheep carrying one injured elf man archer, and a dwarf warrior carrying a gravely wounded pallum supporter. As they ran, they could hear the hooves of the Minotaurs coming ever closer. Suddenly, to their horror, another Minotaur showed up with a bloody club standing in their way. Before they could backtrack, the other Minotaurs had arrived, and the five adventurers were surrounded. The three adventurers were ready to make one final stand until their salvation came.

*SLASH-CRUNCH-STAB*

The five adventures saw the Minotaur blocking their escape route, failing to its knees screaming in pain. Only to turn to sheer agony and roared as a bloody fist popped out of its chest with its magic stone on its attacker's fist. Soon enough, the bloody Minotaur disbursed into a bloody mist, which showed who dealt with the final blow. A white-haired teen with red eyes wearing loan gear of the guild with a dagger in his right hand and his left hand was covered in blood while holding the deceased monster's magic stone.

"Go now! I'll hold them off!"

The five adventures shaking out of their shocks nodded and ran past the white hare saying their thanks.

As the five adventurers fled one of the demi-sheep, she looked back at the lone adventurer who stayed behind to buy them more time to escape. Feeling a pit forming in her stomach that they are leaving someone here to die so they could live felt so wrong. However, she noticesthe Minotaurs are standing still, glaring at their new adversary that has entered the fray. Yet strangely, she noticed the monsters were acting strange. They were hesitant to engage the lone adventurers if her eyes weren't deceiving her. So the only thing she could do was pray for his safety.

'Good, they escaped. Now I can go all out with these Minotaur hordes.' Bell thought to himself as he picked up the club with his left hand of his deceased victim and got into a fighting stance to slay them all. Even if he doesn't have all the gear anymore, he is still a knight, nay a warrior by heart.

So without hesitation, he charged towards his nearest quarry. The Minotaur reactivated in kind and swiped at him with its club, only for Bell to avoid a sweep attack before he swung his club at the monster's knee. Effectively dislocated it with a sickening noise. The monster fell down in screaming pain until a knife pierced its skull before disintegrating into oblivion.

Bell heard multiple movements behind him, flipped his dagger as he turned, and threw it at the leading Minotaur, stabbing it in its right eye. Causing the monster to howl in pain, causing it to collide with its kin, and drop its makeshift axe.

No time for breathing, Bell dodged a fist from a Minotaur that invaded its injured kid. Before it could follow up with its strike, Bell club swept its legs, forcing it on its back. When the monster looked up, all it saw was a blood club to the face, and oblivion waited for it.

Seeing it fade into dust Bell charged towards the nearest monster and noticed the fallen makeshift axe. With quickness, his right hand grabbed the axe to avoid a club swing, and with great force, he sliced the Minotaur's waste in half. As Bell did so, blood gushed out and covered him in blood, he didn't care, not one bet.

As Bell turned towards the monster, the monster stared and what they saw was the abyss staring right back at them. For the first time, fear came to their front in their instinct that they were not predators hunting to slaughter adventurers. They are now prey being hunted and slaughtered by a bigger predator.

With fear consuming them, they charged in blindly, hoping to overwhelm him. Bell, without hesitation, charged toward the horde.

Bell did a one-handed uppercut with his ax when one Minotaur was about to bring its club to strike. Cutting the Minotaur in half and destroying the magic stone in the process. As blood showers, the area Bell dashed and sled between two Minotaur as he struck them both on their legs, causing the monsters to collapse face-first on the ground howling in pain. Before they could get back up, Bell was upon them and crouched one head while the other was decapitated.

Turning to his left, Bell saw one of the monsters coming in with two makeshift axe swings with fierce determination to slay him. Soon it was upon him. Bell dodged and sidestepped each strike as the Minotaur was only hitting air. Left. Left. Right. Left. Down. Right. Jump. Rolled. Soon Bell saw the monster was slowing down, exhausting itself from all those mess strikes. With its final strength, it launched itself only for Bell's side step on his right. Before it could pull back, Bell swung his axe and severed its arm. Dropping its remaining axe and clinging to its stump arm as it wailed in pain. Bell struck the monster's chest with great strength, causing it to collapse on its back. Within seconds, Bell jumped it and brought both of his weapons to its face. Soon enough, its head exploded into gore.

Bell turned around only to nearly avoid a fist strike from the Minotaur, and in return, he struck its leg with his club. Next, he swung his axe on its back. Bell dropped his club to turn around and threw his bloody axe at a charging Minotaur, causing it to stagger. Turning towards his kneeling foe, Bell plunges his fist at the Minotaur's back where its magic stone was at, and tears it out. Within seconds blood and dust gush out.

Bringing up his left hand Bell focused on channeling an incantation as red symbols of flame appeared on his outstretched hand. He then throw-out his hand out towards the staggering monster. However, instead of a giant flame ball, his spell surge of flames came out, burning the monster alive as it screamed in agony. Frowning at the wrong incantation, he knows why his spell was wrong. Bell doesn't have a sacred seal to properly focus his magic on channeling spells.

He'll worry about that later because now, "Now there is only one."

Turning towards the last Minotaur that still has his dagger launched in its right eyes. Its lone eye is staring at him with murderous intent. Brave. Foolish but brave. Without a single word, both charged at each other to finish one another off, with the injured Minotaur bringing its fist down. Bell dodged, which allowed him to run up towards its arm. Bell running towards his dagger, the mad Minotaur reached to grab him but used its arm to dodge and jumped on its face. Grabbing his knife and pulling it out, the monster lifted its head, howling in pain. However, it causes Bell to be flung up in the air. Righting himself, Bell used gravity to do his finishing blow. Before the Minotaur could react, it was already too late as Bell plunged his dagger into its heart where the magic stone was. Soon the final monster turned to dust with blood flying out.

Bell signed, "That takes care of that no-" His instinct kicked in, and he turned around to slash at his enemy to only stop near it, no person's throat. His eyes widened in surprise.

A teen girl maybe a year or two younger than him was drenched in blood…by Minotaur blood…blood he had just spilled with said dagger hovering over her throat. Whoops…

"Well, this is awkward…." Bell said as he lowered his dagger and placed it back on his hilt. "Sorry about that. Didn't mean to place my dagger on your throat. You surprised me and…." Bell rubbed his backhead in this awkward situation, "Your cover in blood…which is probably my fault… My bad. Haha…ha…"

"…"

"…"

"…"

"Sorry?"

An Uncomfortable silence was formed between them due to not knowing what to say in this awkward conversation. Before this could even become more awkward between them.

"Yo Ais, Are you over there!?" A playful tomboyish voice called out. Causing said girl name Aiz to turn around to see her friend Tiona, an amazonian, running towards her. When said friend arrived and was shocked, "Holy hell Ais, you shredded them like no tomorrow!"

Ais negatively shocks her head, confusing Tiona. When Ais turned towards the person who massacred the horde, the person vanished. Blinking a couple of times, she looked around and even tried to sense him, only to come up empty-handed? Strangely enough, the monster's magic stones and two of the monster's makeshift weapons are gone.

'When did he?'

"Hay Ais! Are you alright?" Tiona said with concern.

"I'm fine Tiona. Just wondering where the person who did this just went. He was just here a second ago until I turned around when you called me. When I turned back, he was gone."

Tiona got into a thinking pose before answering, "Do you think he was a high-level adventurer who got cut up with our mistake with the fleeing Minotaur horde?"

Before Ais could answer Tiona's question, she paused. Was he? By the look of his gear, he was wearing gear likely loaned by the Adventurer Guild. So would that make him a level one? But that couldn't be. Level one adventures couldn't handle a level two Minotaur. It was even outlandish for a level one to take on a horde of Minotaur, yet the evidence here does not lie. So the question is, how did he do it? How was he so strong?

Shaking her head out of her thoughts, Ais turned towards her friend, "We can worry about this later. We should head back to the party to tell them this area is clear."

"Yeah, that sounds good to me! Also, we should get you clean too! The blood drench reeks ~giggling~!"

Not bothered by the stench, Ais walked ahead while Tiona tagalong. A couple minutes later, further down the path behind some rock formation. A shimmer of light started to fade, and Bell appeared with his left hand slowly fading thanks to his incantation. Luckily he didn't have trouble casting the invisibility spell. Looking at the two, he nodded that they couldn't sense his presence and let out a content sigh.

"With that out-of-the-way. There is only one thing to do..." Bell said to himself before turning around and heading up to the dungeon exit to the outside world, "…home."

It took Bell a while to exit the dungeon, but he finally made it out. He looked up at the sky and saw dusk was almost upon him and the city. He should probably head towards the Adventure Guild to turn in the magic stones he gains from the Minotaur's but decide not to. He could do it tomorrow. Instead, he headed back home because of everything he had been through.

As Bell was walking towards the rundown church, passing by numerous races doing everyday activities. Everyone has a carefree face, as if nothing is wrong in the world. How long has it been to see sane people not trying to kill him when he travels across the Land Between? How long has he seen people with various emotions, not hollow or dead expressions?

Shaking out his thoughts, going through his memory of where his home was at. He is still having a hard time now that he is back in his home world, yet… He remembers when he first arrived in the Land Between as a Tarnished trying to look for a way to return home to his…goddess. He paused on the road. His goddess…She is still his goddess, right? He is still her Familia, right? Even so…

Looking up, he saw it. The full moon was out in the night sky. Gazing at the dark yet beauty of the night sky showering over the ocean of stars.

Funny how he once liked seeing the sunrise that often represented a new dawn. All the stories that were somehow related to heroes making a comeback for some other reason, thanks to his grandpa's stories. Now, he is sick of it. Seeing how the Golden Order used its and especially the Erdtree as symbols for its own purpose. As for the night sky, it brought clarity for him when he stargazed. It brings peace to him when staring at the moon. It also reminded him of…

"Upon the order I envision. Mine will be an order not of gold, but the stars and moon of the chill night."

"Ranni…" Bell quietly said to himself as a small tear filled his eyes. Shaking out of his funk, he continued forward towards the church. He could worry about all this later once his head is cleared.

When Bell finally reached his destination, he stopped and stared at the rundown-church, feeling nauseous. Never thought of seeing this place again but now…Before Bell could think, his thought was cut off when the front doors opened, and he saw.

"Hestia…"

Hestia appeared before him, showing off her warm smile as she was happy to see him.

"Bell-kun I'm so Ha-." Hestia paused when she saw Bell. He was soaked in dried monster blood from head to toe. She would have screamed, she would have had a panic attack, and she would have asked him what had happened. Yet when she starred in her child's eyes. She did not see a go happy and innocent personality. She saw a weary veteran who had seen and done many things that would break anyone's resolve and spirit. Yet his eyes still hold a spark of determination. Of what, she does not know. She only knows that her child is likely on his last leg, and he needs help. He needs comfort.

"Bell-kun? Are you alright? What happened to you?"

Bell stared at Hestia. It felt like hours for her, which was a couple of minutes. Finally, Bell walked towards her, and when he was finally in front of her. He collapsed on his knee and pulled Hestia gently into a hug as he buried his face towards her, seeking solace.

Hestia, without hesitation, patted her child, who needed comfort right now, and waited for a while until she finally spoke to him, "It's alright, Bell, your home now. Everything is going to be alright. Let's go inside and wash you up, ok?"

For a while, he didn't respond until he nodded towards her answer.

"Finally…I'm home."

"Yes, Bell-kun, your home."

"…Home."
