Surprise Post

Hello Everyone! Author-nim here!

Firstly, I'm sorry for how long it is taking me to update this story. I am taking my time to make sure it is good. Some of the chapters that I have written did not turn out the way I wanted so I started to re-write a few. My schedule with assignments has also built up a bit, so it is taking longer than I expected.

In the meantime, I will promote a small side project that I have been working on called "I will cast my own shadow. Like I'm a Pioneer, it is an Idol-centred story, but it has a female lead this time. I don't have many chapters for it as it is just a side project at the moment so only write chapters for it when I get inspiration and have time. I am uploading the first chapter of the story here to give you guys a taste. If you like it let me know and I may consider uploading the rest of it here too.

I have a couple of side projects but I'm not at all confident in most of them.

Again, my apologies for the delay, but school comes first!

Walking through the halls of the building at 6 o'clock at night. I keep peeking through the doors trying to find her. Where is she? I think to myself until I hear the sound of a song belonging to a very familiar artist. I walk over to the dance practice room. I open the door and walk in. The girl is too distracted by her dance practice to notice me. I just stand in the back and watch as she performs. Her movements are practised, refined and powerful. She is probably the best dancer I will ever see. What makes it more impressive is that she is only 15. She joined this company in 2014 as a little twelve-year-old girl. Her audition was very impressive. Her dance was flawless and her vocals unmatched. Even her rap was stable. I wanted to debut her immediately, but she was too young. I had just received a fiftieth call from Lee Soo-Man of SM asking me to transfer her to his company. He was willing to do anything for it to happen. I found it strange, but I had finally accepted the deal after he offered me something quite incredible. I was wondering what it was about her that made her worth so much to him, but it didn't matter. All I had to do now was to find the right words to convey this to her without breaking her heart. As the song finished I watched as she ends in a pose. Her breathing was still stable, her stamina was seemingly endless. I slowly clap for her performance. She jumps in fright as she finally notices me. She turns and bows. I chuckle quietly and walk over to her. "That was impressive Min-Jun. As expected of our best trainee. Your dancing and vocals are perfect. But can you tell me why you only seem to perform covers of Taemin?" I ask. She tenses up and shakes her head. I have seen her perform covers of many other artists. She knows a lot of the songs out in the industry. She has always practised different songs. But for some reason, whenever evaluation comes around she only ever performs songs by Taemin or Taeyeon. Why? I always wonder. But she always avoids answering, no matter what.

"What can I help you with PD-nim?" she asks me as she tries to change the subject. I sigh and shake my head. "I have some interesting but sad news for you," I tell her. She looks up at me now nervous. "First, you are getting close to debuting," I tell her. Her eyes widen and she begins to smile. "However," I continue and she becomes nervous again. "You will be transferring to SM entertainment tomorrow," I tell her. Her eyes widen and she drops to the floor.

"What?!?! Why? What did I do PD-nim? Why can't I stay here?" She asks, panicking.

"I'm sorry Min-Jun. As much as I want to keep you here, Lee Soo-man wouldn't stop pestering me, and he finally provided us with an offer we couldn't refuse, although it does make me wonder why he wants you so much" I say.

She looks down at the ground now shaking. I look closer and realise that she is crying. "Hey, Min-Jun. Why are you crying? You're still going to debut, just at another company." I say to her.

"You don't get it. I wanted to do it on my own without any help. I thought they understood that." She mutters.

"What?"

"You wondered why I only perform using Taemin and Taeyeon songs at evaluations?" She says.

I nod.

"I'll tell you..."

"Taemin and Taeyeon..."

I gasp.
