Chapter 01: A Goddess.

Just at this moment, I was in the center of a huge coliseum, where thousands of beings were looking at me with expressions of mockery, hatred, or envy.

I was kneeling on the floor handcuffed behind my back by an antimagic chain and a gag covering half of my lower face preventing me from speaking.

"Blessed children of God!" A wrinkled man in white clothes with a gold symbol on his chest began walking towards me as he waved to the boisterous crowd that soon quieted down.

"You see, we have captured the tyrant who killed millions of innocent people, beings who have done nothing wrong, they had relatives, they were happy living the grace of the Lord, they wanted to live and see the world in new dawn! But, this tyrant came and destroyed their happiness!".

"Now it is up to you, children of God, to decide to sacrifice him so that his corrupt soul will be purified, or, to imprison and torture him until he accepts his sins so that our God will forgive him!".

He continued with a soft smile as if what he was saying was the greatest honor one could have.

What can I say? Such were they, they were cowardly beings who despised the lives of others and feared losing their own, they enjoyed seeing the suffering and misfortune of others.

"Scum like this shouldn't be a son of God!" One person who was in the audience started shouting which made the others burst out in insults of different kinds.

"Execute him! He's a villain who needs to be eradicated from the face of existence!".

"Execute him?! Heh! Wouldn't it be better to lock him up and torture him until he perishes!"

"Yes! A demon-like this should be tortured until he repents!"

Shouts and curses like that echoed the inside of the coliseum.

The more I listened to the curses that got worse by the second, I mocked them inwardly.

'Is this the real face of the people I saved, haha? Disappointing'.

"Very well, as God's children wish, we will torture him so that after he dies, his soul will be free under the grace of the Lord!". He shouted with a joyful smile causing the stadium to erupt in cheers and applause.

"Take him and bring him to the torture cellar!". Commanded the wrinkled old man again and the guards behind me started to move and grab my arms and legs to take me away.

I gave them a cold stare. Their bodies shuddered and their expressions revealed terror. But they continued to carry me, just the same.

After a few minutes of walking, we arrived at a huge door. They opened it and we entered, revealing a dark tunnel passage.

'Who would have thought that I would one day be in this place where only traitors and spies were tortured.'

I already knew that my future in this place would be nothing good to experience.

"Throw him in that cell until further orders!".

"As you command, Your Holiness!". Greeted the soldiers before tossing me and dropping heavily inside a cell behind metal-like bars.

"Hahaha! Hero Nader! How does it feel to be powerless right now! You never thought that you would one day be betrayed by us, did you!

The Pope looked at me with a smirk and turned on his heel before heading towards the exit again.

The guards kept their faces expressionless and stood at each corner of the entrance with their spears firmly in their hands.

Thus a few full hours passed before the Pope came again with his golden staff.

"The Emperor has already decided your punishment! You will spend all your remaining life being tortured! Hahaha!".

The usually kind smile the Pope displayed in front of the audience, at this moment was not unlike that of a complete madman, his distorted smile coupled with his look of madness and wrinkled face, made him look like a demon.

'Shit. It would be much better if they killed me outright. It's pretty obvious they just want to see me suffer. Bastards...'

With a *Crack* sound, the adamantium door opened and the guardians entered with a few torture tools. Among them are pinned, needles of different sizes, knives, electric chairs, and so on.

They put the chair in the center of the cell and placed me there while they entangled me with anti-magic ropes.

What happened next, there was no need to describe. For me, this place turned out to be a real hell.

They tortured me relentlessly, every day without fail. They cut off my fingers, limbs, worst of all, my power that a few days ago was awakened, turned out to be my worst enemy.

I didn't even know what kind of power it was, but it gave me a high regeneration so that ten days after the beginning of my torture, my severed limbs grew back.

When the Pope saw that I had such a monstrous regeneration, he did so fearfully since he saw that neither handcuffs nor antimagic ropes worked on me.

But then, a devilish grin appeared on his face.

"Hahaha! This is just perfect! Doesn't this mean that we can torture you to our heart's content!".

My blood-stained body shuddered.

'~Sigh, this is the beginning of hell.'

Again and again, and again, and again, I was tortured. It was the worst days, weeks, months, and years.

'Why don't I die yet...I want to die.

'Somebody... please... kill me...'.

My gaze was lifeless, without any light, I was just an empty shell. My skins were wrinkled and stuck to my fleshless bones. I was a sickly color, almost bloodless. Not even my powers of regeneration were powerful enough to withstand the years of torture in this terrible hell.

'What did I do to deserve this?'

Nothing, I was simply a boy who was born with nothing, a boy who sought to bring smiles to the whole world, where everyone would be happy with his family.

I was simply a hero to many and a villain to others. I was just someone who saved many from slavery and destruction, I have saved thousands of lives.

I am just a simple human who killed the Demon Emperor using all the strength I had left, and in the process, destroyed the demonic world.

I am simply someone who exhausted all his powers and happened to be imprisoned and branded as a tyrant.

Why? because they were afraid, a human or any reasoning race tends to be afraid of the unknown. In this case, I was seen as an unknown entity, an extremely strong one that they could not get their hands on me, I was someone they could not bind with their rules.

What did they do?, easy, instead of training and becoming strong, they locked themselves in their shell of envy, hatred, resentment, and above all, fear, looking for an opportunity to stab me in the back when I was weak.

Of course, I was a stupid idiot to be so blind, to fight for someone else, to not see that, in a cruel world, where rules and justice can be easily manipulated at will, I would be the one to lose in the end.

Of course, for me the rules hadn't mattered, after all, I had enough strength to be feared, but who would think that an extremely strong being would show up who would need everything he had up his sleeves to kill him.

This is the result of those who had a hero's life, along the way, a tragic and unjust end always awaited them.

'Why was I such a fool' I muttered inwardly as my withered legs were cut off.

'Please kill me. I don't want to live anymore...'

As if my prayers were heard, from within me came a warm sensation that coursed through my entire body.

Then, with a *Crack* sound, my body cracked in several places, painlessly. With blurred vision, I watched as almost colorless energy gushed from the cracks in my body.

Seconds later, I heard only cries of despair as my body had expelled overwhelming energy.

The colorless energy surrounded my body with a putrid smell and spread throughout the bloody torture cell.

The guards who were torturing me with a maniacal grin now had pale faces. When my energy came in contact with their bodies, they slowly turned into dust motes that scattered around the room.

The place became silent.

At this point, my whole body was full of cracks, no blood, just colorless energy. The pieces of my fragile body crumbled and also became dust motes that were dissolved into nothingness.

I closed my eyes and muttered inwardly: '...this is certainly a pathetic death. But... at least, I can now free myself from this hell...'

My only regret in this world was not having lived my own life.

Soon after, my vision was covered by a black cloak and I felt myself detaching from my body.

I lost consciousness as past events invaded my mind: they were like clouds of memories floating in my head. The former empty place was filled, one by one, in quick succession by the mementos of my life: happy moments, sad moments, and tragic moments I have experienced. A path is full of thorns and poisons that I had to cross to survive. Although I was a hero, in no way had I been treated as such, it was just an empty title that was bestowed upon me.

-----------------------------

Slowly I regained consciousness and opened my eyes. Confused, I shook my head looking around, I saw that this place was a completely white space, the floor seemed to be made of glass as I could see my figure in it.

Just now I didn't have a physical body, I was just a transparent white humanoid figure.

'Wasn't I dead, is this my soul?

I'm a little surprised that my mind was so calm after all the torture I went through.

"~Welcome to my abode, Celestial." A soft voice sounded from behind me.

I quickly stood up and turned around towards the voice as I took a fighting stance. It was kind of funny since it was just a white figure.

"Don't worry, I'm not your enemy."

I looked at the face of the person in front of me and sororized a little, it was the most perfect and beautiful existence I have ever seen.

"That's rude of you, is that how you receive a Goddess?". The girl looked at me with mock anger.

"Are you a Goddess...?".

I knew that so-called 'Gods' existed, after all, even I, who am only a mortal with immense power, from a normal person's point of view, am considered a divine figure, so why couldn't there be someone more powerful?

The girl who declared herself a Goddess was about 170 cm tall with a slender body, she wore a black flared dress with some silver ribbons that hugged her body up to her thighs, her long hair that flowed to her waist was a shiny silver color, her small face had a beautiful heart shape with big deep blue eyes. Her nose was small and pointed, her full lips were naturally painted a beautiful cherry color.

"Umu, my name is Levana, but I am known as the Goddess of the Multiverse," She said as she puffed out her small breasts proudly.

The Goddess of the Multiverse, if she declared herself that way, she was undoubtedly the strongest in existence.

Not that I cared anyway, so I asked the most important question bluntly "Why am I in this place? And why did you call me Celestial?".

"Hmmph," she let out a snort of annoyance when she saw that I was ignoring her.

"This is my realm, you are the first existence besides me to ever set foot in this place." She said again with her chest puffed out.

'Well, that didn't answer my question,' I thought.

She then walked over and stood in front of me about three feet away: "As for your question, you will have the opportunity to reincarnate, or in this case, I will do something special for you and send you straight to directly to the next world without you reincarnating, after all, I don't think it would be to your liking to be born again as a child, hehe..." she explained and smiled playfully before continuing, "but because you have an immense amount of accumulated positive karmic points, you can claim whatever objects you want from this place".

'Reincarnate and live the next life?' I thought and shook my head.

"I'm sorry. I don't plan to live anymore, isn't there a way to a permanent death?".

I was already tired of living, even if I reincarnated, so what, would it make any sense? Surely not, I'll just walk down a lonely road again.

"What, why don't you want to be reincarnated?".

"Well, since you're the strongest Goddess, it's pretty sure you know the reason, don't you?".

"Mmm, yes. But..." she paused for a bit before looking at me and continuing in an unsure tone, "You are celestial, no matter how many times you die, you will always reincarnate, and I only intervened in the cycle of samsara to bring you to my place before you reincarnated without your memory."

'Even after my death, I can't rest? What kind of sick joke was this? Surely it's just a bullshit curse?'

I simply wanted to rest eternally after those seven long years of torture in hell. I want to rest even if it means disappearing completely.

"You're the strongest Goddess, aren't you. In that case, can't you do something to make me disappear?".

The Goddess sighed and shook her head, "I'm sorry. I can't do that. As I said, you are a Celestial. A race belonging to mine. Even if I make the entire multiverse disappear, you and I will always survive in nothingness."

My eyes widened, was she just like me.

Which reminds me...

"If I am a race belonging to your race, why am I so weak compared to you?".

"That's because you were only born when you were about to die."

"What, could you explain it better?" I asked in a confused tone.

The Goddess nodded and explained, "When you were born, you were just a normal human, or rather, your fleshly body was merely a container for your real powers. If you weren't in despair before your death, it would take you a few thousand years before your fleshly body is replaced by that of a true Celestial."

So, I guess my regenerative powers that appeared when I was being tortured were because my powers were awakening.

I sighed and wearily let my shoulders slump, "Since I have no choice but to be reincarnated, I'll do it."

I could ask her to erase my past life memories, but after some consideration, I thought it would be foolish to do so. I no longer want to make the same mistake of my previous life. This time, I will live my own life. Maybe, I will find someone who is important to me and who will make my new life meaningful.

The Goddess nodded with a small satisfied smile, "Since it is decided, you can now claim whatever rewards you want for your karmic points."

"How many karmic points do I have?".

She thought a bit before explaining, "Compared to normal beings and even if you compare your karmic points to those of the heroes of ancient times, your karmic points are so immense that they could be considered absurd in the first place, if we put it into numbers it would be this...". After concluding his explanation, he waved his soft hands and a long list of numbers floated in the air in front of us.

[5.841.639.046]

Although I didn't know how many karmas the other beings accumulated, mine was certainly quite a large amount, but considering everything I did so far, I think it's pretty fair.

"You are the first existence to have reached this numerous amount, the previous existence that gained the highest karmic point was 5,763,937."

"Oh, so how much does a normal existence earn karmic points over the years?" I asked, I wanted to understand at least a little bit of the difference in points.

"Umu, an existence can retain about 70 to 90 karmic points over its lifetime, after all, beings are not completely white, they are not completely black either, they are gray, which means that even when they gain higher amounts of Karma, it will one day fall again."

"So where are the treasures with which I can redeem my point?", I said with a grimace.

I looked around, but again, the only thing that greeted me was an empty white place.

"Hehe, don't worry, it'll be here right now," she said smiling, raising her little hand and snapping her fingers.

A few seconds passed and I looked at her face with a raised eyebrow, just when I wanted to ask where they were, she pointed to the sky with her slender fingers.

I looked up and saw how some large shelves that appeared to be made of wood were falling towards us.

The problem was, one was falling right on my head. Without me having time to dodge, the shelves hit the empty floor and my vision was covered in black.

I took a step forward and stepped out from inside the bookshelf, it did nothing to me because I was just a soul without a physical body.

"Hey, you wanted to kill me, didn't you?". I said furrowing my eyebrows as I saw the Goddess trying to hold back laughter.

"Hehe... weren't you the one who until recently wanted to die?".

I shrugged and ignored what she said. I turned to look at the shelves.

There were countless wooden shelves, each object that was in the drawers inside had labels of names and descriptions. Each shelf had different categories of objects, from simple and faint treasures to those that just by looking at them from here you felt an invisible pressure.

I walked and stopped in front of a shelf where there were numerous shiny and beautiful objects: rings, chains, earrings, earrings, rings, etc. Just when I wanted to take a ring, a red light caught my attention, when I saw it, I was instantly captivated by it, it was a small crimson cube that glowed faintly, although its glow was a bit weak, its aura was quite powerful.
