MSL - After a long struggle

After fifteen days of treatment, and that's quite a long time for me. Lying on a bed, with all the smell of medicine that is not very pleasant and of course the saddest thing is not being able to move much.

"I'm going back to Ze's apartment." I said in Christ's car when he picked me up and brought me to his house. He seemed to be sitting next to me but was busy with his cell phone.

"I won't let you go." He replied shortly without looking at me.

"I don't want to go back to that place, I'm traumatized." My lie. I wish Christopher would set me free. At least not being near Christ, it not only protected me, it protected Christ from his crazy ex-wife.

Christ looked at me, " Don't worry. We're not going back to that house." Christ replied shortly.

What Christ said made me a little more relieved, but really I wanted to pull away from him a bit. The whole thing made me so horrified by the possibilities that this woman could have done. "Then let me go back to Ze's apartment."

Christ put his phone in his pocket, and looked at me. "You think after everything that happened, I'll just let you go that easy?" He asked me.

"You ignored me, but you didn't let me go back to Ze's apartment either, what do you want exactly?" Oh, I guess it's true that Christ said, if Lindsey knocks my head too hard, I even get very emotional at this time for a trifle.

"Shut up and don't refute me." Christ looked out the window. He's been so cold to me for four days. I don't know what he really feels in his heart. His fear was even greater than my own. Or maybe something I did that hurt her or made her uncomfortable, this really frustrates me. He seemed annoyed with me but also didn't want to let me go.

We arrived at another mansion, this time a little far from the city center. With a classic architectural style.

"Welcome . . ." A woman over seventy years old greeted us.

"Granny." Christ hugged the woman.

"Son." The woman rubbed Christ's back and it seemed that they were very familiar.

"And you must be Mss. Stuart." The woman smiled at me.

"Yes." I nod awkwardly.

The woman who looks beautiful even though she is old looks so sincere when she introduces herself. "I'm Christopher's grandmother."

"Oh, nice to see you Mrs. Hudson" I smiled once again.

"Call me granny." She answered with her beautiful smile. "Come in, you guys must be tired. Now go in and rest in the room of each of you." The woman said. OH NO!! She separated the two of us?

"I'll take her to her room." Christ took my hand and led me to walk through several rooms until I walked into a room.

"This is your grandma's house?" I asked and he nodded.

"Why are we here?" I asked confusedly.

"You're traumatized by my house, so this is the safest place for a while." He answered.

"Safe?" My eyebrows were intertwined. "Your grandma is even trying to separate us." My grumble was soft.

"In my house a lot of reporters are waiting, they know you're out of the hospital today."

"Really, isn't it good. So I can explain to reporters about your position, you won't have any more trouble afterwards." My eyes lit up, hoping that Christ would agree to my plan to talk to reporters.

"What are you going to tell them?" He stop his step and look at me angrily.

"It's my fault." I said shortly, as if it were intelligent thinking.

"And everyone will come to understand the situation, that you are my college student, staying in my house and sleeping in my room, together with me without marriage ties, and almost stabbed to death by my ex-wife? You want them to come to understand the situation in such a way?" Christ asked, as if I had just been awakened from my stupidity.

"All the facts and evidence are clear, you are my female college student, and found almost dead in my room, what else are you going to explain?"

I was downcast. "Leave me alone." I said desperately, I'm not angry with him, I'm angry with myself. The situation has become complicated because of me, I feel very bad.

Christ actually left me alone, maybe he was also starting to get bogged down with my stupidity and stubbornness. Maybe soon he will leave me alone in this house and find another woman who is much easier, more beautiful, and attractive. It's not like me who always troubles him.

***

I fell asleep that night after dinner which even the maid had delivered to my room. I didn't see Christ again after our not-so-smooth conversation, even this morning when I walked out of the room to get some fresh air I didn't even find anyone else but Christ's bodyguards, servants and grandmothers who were busy gardening.

"Hey . . . how do you feel?" The woman asked.

"Much better." I replied.

"Christ told me everything happened to you. I feel sorry for you." She said with a great empathy.

"I feel bad right now, Granny." I honestly sat on the side of the woman who was busy with her flowers.

"Christopher really cares about you. No matter what, he wants to protect you, and I can see his sincerity. Such a great sense of empathy, maybe because of the unpleasant past that he had." She said without turning her head to me, but she smiled at the end of her sentence.

"What do you mean?" I asked confused.

"I found the poor boy when he was so young. Others would not have guessed that Christopher Hudson, the successful man had experienced such a bad past when he was little." Grandny explained to me. I was stunned as the old lady put down her garden tools and turned to look at me very seriously.

"How come?" I whispered.

"I found the child at a time when my husband and I were on our vacation in Atlanta. The child was found very thin and almost died at a train station." Granny explained.

I got goose bumps at the old lady's narration. "I was a doctor back then, and my humanitarian soul called to check the condition of the little child who was about to die of starvation. I don't know, which old man has the heart to just leave him at the train station."

"What happened after that?"

"We took the child to the hospital and he got treatment until his condition was normal again. It took months, even almost a year for him to catch up, learn to talk, move, run and stuff." Granny's eyes filled with tears.

"My husband and I had a son, and because we were too old to adopt him, I finally asked my son Jhon Hudson to adopt him."

"The process until the child can become our grandson is not easy, we have to convene and convince the local authorities so that the child can be adobsied. And after becoming our grandson, he lived separately with his adoptive father. Our son married and eventually divorced his wife without a child." The old lady seemed to have just opened sheet after sheet of a thick book with the title Christopher Hudson.

"My son died in an accident, and we raised Christ like we raised the late Jhon."

"So Christ is not the grandson of the Hudson family by blood?" I asked and the woman hit the table angrily.

"He is my grandson, my blood is flowing in him."

My eyebrows were linked at Mrs. Hudson's sentence.

"As a thirteen-year-old Christoper had an accident on his vacation while he was riding a sky in the Alps. He almost lost his life back then, and I was the one who donated my blood when he was dying. He's my biological grandson, my blood is flowing in him."

I held my breath, right Granny said. Christopher experienced a lot of bad things in his life.

"He was married twice and both failed, dragging him in a black hole of failure that swallowed his smile." Granny said. "My poor Christ." The woman shook her head weakly.

"Ten days ago he came and told me everything." He said, looking at me. "And that was the first time I saw him in great fear, a fear I didn't even see when he himself almost died so many times."

"It's because of me?"

"Who else?" Ok, I can conclude, Granny wasn't really friendly actually.

"And two days ago he came to me, we chatted very warmly, I saw even a few times he smiled." She said with a fluffy smile on her face, as Granny saw Christ smiling before her.

"He told me about you, and it made him happy. And for me, my grandson's happiness is everything." She added.

"I don't like you very much because you are too young, and I guess at your age, as a woman, you must be very unstable. I'm just afraid that one day my grandson will be hurt again, just like the injuries of his previous two marriage failures."

"Why would you accept me if you didn't like me?" I asked.

"Because my grandson likes you." She answered.

I was downcast. "I know maybe you can't accept my words as something I really feel. But I really respect your grandson and admire him, I love him with my heart."

"I'm thinking you might just want his treasure, just like the previous two girls did." The grandmother said and I smiled.

"Everyone also gave me the same stamp and it wasn't Granny's fault, it wasn't everyone's fault either if they thought so." I said. "It's my fault to be born poor and fall in love with a wealthy man who can stupidly assume I am everything."

"You're right about one thing."

"What's that?"

"My grandson became stupid when he fell in love, and I didn't pass on that trait to him."

"If Granny knew, I also hated being who I am at this time." I said softly. I put my head on my hands resting on the table.

"I've only lived once, and all my life, the last twenty years I've only felt like I really want something when I see him become a lecturer in my college courses." I said no matter whether the woman listened to me or not.

"I always wanted to finish the week quickly and be able to see it in my Saturday class again. Until he finally offered a secret project to make a summary of the superstude book." I added. The old lady seemed to be busy cutting the leaves on the roses she had already picked.

"Originally, I did it all for money, because your grandson is a very generous man. Moreover, I am a poor female college student who needs money to survive." I continued.

"Then you fell in love with him?" She asked sarcastically.

"I don't think any woman in this world can resist the charm of your grandson." I said.

"You and my grandson have one sad thing in common." She said still in the same vein.

"Yes . . . I think we're both being stupid." I approve of what she hasn't even stated.

"What are you going to do after getting the treasure?" Granny asked, and it made me turn my head towards her.

"I don't need the money, because if I want to of course I've asked him to marry me so that legally I can get his inheritance if he dies." I've really gotten so rude right now, I've even forgotten about politeness even though I'm talking to a woman who's much older than me. But I want to make her understand that I want her grandson and not the treasure he has.

"My grandson has already have sex with you?" She asked sarcastically, oh my god, she was much less polite than I turned out to be.

"Your grandson won't do it before marrying me." I said desperately.

"He should have have sex with you and after being content to give you more pay then left you, unfortunately he was so stupid."

"Granny, . . ." I moved closer towards the woman. "I've never known my parents since infancy either, but when I see you I wish I had a grandmother." I said and the woman turned to me. "Can I hug you, just once." I don't know why this just came out of my mouth, and my mind I couldn't help but understand. Even before getting her approval I had already hugged the woman.

"Just a moment I beg you." I didn't want to let go of the old lady, and inexplicably, the warmth of her body made me feel at ease. I even cried in his arms.

"If I had a grandmother, of course there would be people defending me when there was an old lady saying inappropriate things about me didn't I?" I asked him and he didn't answer me.

"If I had a grandmother, she would definitely scold me if I stupidly fell in love with the man who twice failed to build a household, isn't that so nek?" I kept fuming in my cries.

"Unfortunately I have no one, not even to scold me or beat me even when I'm naughty." I added.

I hugged the woman tightly once again. "Even when I was about to die because my lover's ex-wife knocked me in the head and stabbed me, there was nothing to divide me."

I don't know why as I continued to fuss, I felt the warmth of the old lady's hand returning my embrace.

"My grandchildren." She whispered, and she hugged me tightly at this time.

"I'm even willing to lose my life if it's something I did for your grandson, so don't think if I just want the money." I said softly.

I don't know why we became as empathetic to each other as we are today. He hugged me as if I were also his grandson and we even cried together.

"If Jhon had a daughter, she would have been as big as you." He said softly as he continued to hug me.
